Can the forum members who have a handset from vodafone let me know if they are locked? Seems to be a mix of locked and unlocked handsets! I am on O2 looking to buy a Legend!

The camera on my Legend is faulty and I've finally got Vodafone to send me a replacement, but I'm worried that I'm going to lose all of my personalization etc and have to spend hours getting the new phone to the way I've got my current one. I'm not too bothered about background, widgets etc, but I was wondering if anyone could give me advice as to how to get as much info from the old handset to the new - particularly the contacts that I want who are linked through Google and Facebook, and the apps I've downloaded.I've tried syncing with HTC Sync but, to be honest, am finding it confusing; I can't see what I've synced so am not sure if there was any point in doing that. I've also backed my phone and Google contacts up on the SD card (I think!) but I'm not sure if this will work.I love the Legend, but I hate how much of a technoidiot it makes me feel! I'm supposed to be competent with these things!

What is the best update to use for unlocked, vodafone SIM HTC heroes? Also as mentioned earlier I have a vodafone SIM and my last phone was a nokia navigator, I've copied all my contacts to my SIM, should this be enough for me to get my contacts up and running when I use my hero?

I have a 3 sim card in it that works but i can't access Planet 3 anymore. if i start the web application it will connect to vodafone & vodafone only. Is there any way i can access planet 3 again? Is there a setting i must change?

View 1 Replies View RelatedNone of my apps can updates or use my network. With or without 3g enabled. Also when gsm/ wcdma auto is used, I get just texts through, but when I use only one of those at a time. My signal dissappears completely.

The phone is completely unlocked i can access all menus with no problem but as soon as i make a call it says "Call ended" and messages remain unsent with a red exclamation mark. No messages or calls can be received either. I've tried 2 different sim cards with different providers and on both cases the signal is full but the same problem persists.

I can not remember the google email address for the phone and now i can not access the phone. Orange customer service has told me to get in touch with google, in order to delete the old account [whatever that may be] but there is no number for google customer service.

It's now version 1.32.161.4 and the root guide at 24/May r4 - HTC Legend rooting guide - Now with 1.31.x - Android @ MoDaCo says 1.31 and below is there any way to downgrade the Legend to what it was before? I think it was 1.21 or 1.23 not sure.

In theory the GPS receivers could be used to pretty accurately synchronize timing, but I'm not sure if Android is setup to use them that way. MediaPlayer mp = MediaPlayer.create(getBaseContext(), R.raw.theEnd); 2. mp.start(); But sometimes I see from my errorlogs that people are getting a nullpointer on line nr 2 here. My music file is a MP3 file and works great on my G1. The comments on my app says "Doesn't work on Hero after update" but I am unsure if this is specific to the Hero since I don't have that information in my errorlogs. The app has > 50000 downloads so this code works for most of the people out there, but do anyone know why it doesn't work for all of them?

I have a Wi-Fi router D-Link Dir-615. My HTC Legend recognize the router but after enterring the key to unlock the connection, it fails to connect. 2 PC are connected and the HTC touch of my wife too, and all three work fine.

I will fix it soon, but I'll need a detailed guide on how to do it, I have seen some forums on how to do it but it doesn't seem that easy. I am pleased with the Legend, but at times things come up that confuse me somewhat. Recently a friend and I were taking photos and I thought it would be interesting to compare camera quality of her BB Curve 8900 with my HTC Legend. Below are the photos.

Is it just me or is something wrong here? (Forgive me naivety!) Also, could it be that I need to fine tune some settings or something? I hope somehow I can improve these shots.. the Legend's assumed superior camera was one of its main attractive characteristics for me!
