/data/data/com.example.packagename/files/123.ics
Now, I want to open & read the file content from phone's internal memory to UI. I tried to do it by using the FileInputStream, I have given just filename with extension to open it but I am not sure how to mention the file path for file in internal memory, as it forces the application to close.
I want to access phone internal memory to store some data, similar to that of sdcard. but the problem is that the data written by one application is not accessed by other applications. because of uid mismatches.

There are a couple of options within the browser I didn't find until after searching for it, so I thought I would share it with the rest of the community in order to help out.
-Everyone should clear the browser cache and previous history in order to save internal phone memory. To do this go to BROWSER press the MENU button and press MORE. There should be a list of things in there but what you should be interested in is the last item which is SETTINGS. From there in privacy settings there will be options to clear both cache and history.
- Another little tip I wanted to share was viewing webpages in landscape mode without opening your keyboard. To do this simply press the MENU button from within the BROWSER and go down to FLIP ORIENTATION. You should realize tho by doing this you browser will continue to be in landscape the next time it's used. In order to return it to it's normal portrait mode just follow these steps once again.
-There are a number of other things you can mess around with or find with the MENU button within the browser so just take a look at it yourself even if you don't want to do any of these tips.

Does anyone know how to access the internal storage memory using ES File Explorer? I have tried going up and down the folder hierarchy and can never find it.I've read that Astro File Manager can access it but I prefer using ES File Explorer and don't want to have two file managers on my DI.I am surprised at this stage of Android that a file explorer is not included in the OS.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo recently I got lack of internal memory(it is only 512MB though) and I tried to swap internal memory with microSD(marked as sdcard2). However, Im noob in this and after changing the lines I understood, that I changed sdcard with sdcard2(swapped sdcard and sdcard2), however, my android system seems to be not working now. I can boot and access settings, but thats all. No menu, no apps, no anything. Empty screen, only settings accessible. I cannot access any files or anything...
What I tried:
- Connecting phone to PC as I have Android Commander program which can browse system files from pc, unfortunately, failed to connect.
- Factory reset. Didnt work.
- Recovery mode - tried all options that are available, didnt work.
The phone is Prestigio Multiphone PAP4300 DUO. When I boot to the phone, I unlock it and I get many messages saying com.android.phone, system and such things stopped working. When pressing HOME button, it goes to home, but its empty(empty screen) and tells Launcher stopped working too. All I can do is access the settings. Cant call anyone though.
What to say to warranty service when I will bring the phone to them. Can they recognize that its rooted/that the vold.fstab file is modified?

That looks to be white, but mine is black. I rooted it only. Havent done any changes to the phone until yesterday - swap the memories.

I know that external SD cards can be formatted with different (repeating format and data overwriting techniques) but my phone has internal 16gb which has some personal data in it. I can format it but the data will still be there? How can I completely remove my data without effecting the system data.

Recently my the screen stoped working on my phone so I pulled the battery to get it back working. After I put it back in the phone was completely reset, no contacts, no messages, no email, no downloads. I use google sync to recover all my contacts and such but when I cut the phone off and cut it back on again it is completely reset again and this trends continues time and time again. . and to make matters worse its saying that I have zero internal memory to install my apps again from the marketplace.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the built in sqlite library on the Android platform.
I'm considering adding several general purpose fields that users will be able to use for their own custom applications, but these fields will be blank most of the time.
My question is, how much overhead will these blank fields add to my database? Do null fields even take up per record memory in sqlite? If so, how much? I don't quite understand the inner workings of a sqlite database.
I'm wanting to learn more about android. Is there a way to use memory from the sd card for the phones internal memory? Is there an app that will tell me whats useing up so much memory? I'm on the ZTE warp sequent ,rooted.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a (quite old now) Google Nexus One and I recently upgraded from Google Maps v6.9.0 to Google Maps v6.10.0
And I was quite surprised to see my user memory decrease a lot while the install apk is quite the same between both versions.
My Nexus One is rooted and running stock Android 2.3.6 (GB, not ICS)So I investigated and here is what I found about this new version of Google Maps.First, you must know that the memory available to the user to install new applications is mounted by the android system as '/data'.By running a 'du' command, I discovered that the following folder:
Code:
/data/data/com.google.android.apps.maps/app_
takes 11.9 Mo, which is a lot.[code].....
I have free space on the internal memory of my phone that is not recognized for things like installing an app.
This is my phone:
Model: Motorola XT919
Android version: jelly bean 4.1.2
Internal memory: 4gb (really 2,2 gb free since the rest is used by the OS)
Rooted: Yes
I found out about this problem because I was running out of internal space so I inmediately checked the storage settings and I found this:
In the installed apps settings it shows 766 mb free of internal space But in the storage settings the things are different: As you can see, this time I only have 127 mb free of internal storage....
Just to be sure, I downloaded the app Storage Analyser and once again checked the internal storage free space: And this time shows 1,52 gb free...
Well the thing is that my phone considers as free space just the 127mb shown on storage settings, and I want the phone also uses the free space shown on the app settings or the one shown by storage analyser.
I run on a desire 2.2 froyo. I have enabled apps to sd, and moved all the apps that can be moved?(dunno if i can move all the apps?)well, the problem is, my internal memory gets filled up pretty fast. So my question is:"How to move all the "crap" over to the sd-card?"
View 38 Replies View RelatedHowever after getting a bunch of apps from the android market i am getting a warning saying my internal memory card is getting full.when I check under settings, i still have about 20mb left. At what size do i start getting this warning? Its it possible to save apps onto the sd card instead of the internal memory? Also is there a size limit for the number of text messages, i starting getting warning messages for those as well.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've started seeing some apps that offer to read/write data to the internal phone memory (like Super KO Boxing 2, which offers to save a whopping 52MB to the phone memory). I suppose this is because newer Android devices have a lot of internal storage, as opposed to my devices, which have very little. I would like to support internal storage in my app as well.
But it's a bit difficult to implement a solution to something that I don't really know how it works. For example, do these newer devices allow users to upload files to the internal memory, like it's possible to do with the SD card? Can someone explain internal storage from an user perspective and recommend strategies for supporting read/write operations both for internal and external memory (ie: letting the user choose which memory to use at startup, like the Super KO Boxing 2 app)?
It's perfectly described here how to do it, the only problem: He doesnt know the function
