if you can get facebook to give you a notification when a new message or comment or whatever is posted / sent to you. up in the notification bar on the home screen i get my gmail alert and text alert but am unable to get a facebook alert. any suppestions?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout 12 days ago my notification bar would not pull down. I rebooted the phone and it started working again. Two days later it stopped working again. I rebooted the phone and still nothing. I powered down the phone and pulled the battery for 5 minutes. Still no go. Today I did a factory reset. With no additional apps loaded, it still would not work. I am able to bring up the bar from Menu->Notifications and it works in landscape.

View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery time I receive a Facebook notification on my Incredible, what I can only describe as a slow song plays for a few seconds. I have no recollection of setting a mp3 for the notification sound and even if I did, the song is played so slowly that it is distorted. Does anyone else have this issue? Can't I just have the default notification sound play when I have a Facebook update? Sorry if I missed a thread somewhere, but I have been searching for quite a while and I am fearful that I am the only one with this problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFound out yesterday that my "computer" is not sending text messages (using the native app). It caused an argument between my wife and I, and about damn-near caused a divorce. The bad thing is that, from what I can tell, it hasn't been sending ANY for a couple of days now. (Notice I didn't say that a potential divorce was not the bad thing ) I can receive texts all day long, not able to send them. In the time that I wasn't able to send them, I wasn't receiving any notifications that the text wasn't sent! I can go into the app, menu > undelivered and see 2 dozen texts there. Why am I not getting a failure notification if I have "Failure Notification" checked in the settings?
Because it went on for so long before being noticed, I have no way of knowing if I screwed around with the settings or if an app I downloaded has caused the problem. I've been tempted to use Handcent, but I'm leery about using something that radically changes the interface when I am a new Superphone and new Android user. Besides, it may not fix the problem.
I updated Facebook today. Now, I keep getting this message. "Sorry! The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please Try Again" Force Close. How can I fix this problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm unable to tag friends while using the Facebook app for Android, whether it's in Check-Ins, statuses, comments, or any of that stuff.
When I try doing it by using the "+" icon, it says "Unable to load friends list" (something like that) and then when I try using the "@" symbol, nothing shows up. It used to work perfectly fine, even with this version of the app. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling... Wiping cache, and even different ROMs. Could this be a gingerbread bug? I'm using a T-Mobile G2x, with the latest CM7.3 nightly build.
So, somehow I accidentally installed the Facebook app in the Android market, which overwrote my Facebook HTC app that came built in. Did I screw anything up? AppBrain told me to upgrade it (HTC version), and upgraded to market version. Is there a difference? Should I care? Is there a way to undo what I have done? Seems like AppBrain has a bug in there, so be warned! Or it is just me being clueless, I suppose.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my girlfriend got herself a new HTC Aria a few days ago and the thing won't let her link her contacts to their Facebook profiles. All the contacts are stored on her phone, not the SIM has 2.1 stock. You type in the person's name after tapping the 'link profile' button or whatever it says, and no profiles show up in the search box. I noticed that a similar post in the HTC Hero forum, but no one seemed to have any luck over there. And yes, I've gone into the settings and enabled everything that I know to enable regarding syncing, facebooking, and anything else along on those lines.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLong time crackberry user converted to android. I got my DX on release day, and have been fighting with facebook since. I cannot seem to get any notifications for facebook what so ever. I set up the "Social Networking" app that came on the X out of the box, and that integrated all my FB friends into my contacts which sucks, but anyway, then I downloaded the facebook app for android. I set up all the settings for notifications, and sounds and all that.
But no matter what, I cannot get a facebook notification like I did on my blackberry. Ill get yahoo emails saying so and so commented on your photo, or what not. But nothing else from FB instant. I have to manually go into my facebook app, go to notifications, hit the menu button and select refresh. Last night for some reason I got the little F in the top left notification bar that someone invited me to join an event. But I cant seem to get anything to mimic it again. I've checked HOFO and they suggested I check here.
I am unable to sign into Facebook from the app it from HTC senses Facebook. I have tried wiping everything and various ROMs but im having the sane problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo when I get texts, gmail, completed app downloads, etc I get notification icons at the top as usual. When I slide the notification bar down to reveal the nofications and click on an item, the notification screen doesn't hide back to the top of my phone -- it just stays open. I either have to hide it manually or I have to hit the back button, which sometimes exits the app I was trying to open. 2.1 never did this for me, it always hid when choosing an item. Anyone have a solution to this? I've done a factory reset after 2.2 btw. I've also searched support to see if there was a similar problem, no similar threads.

I CANNOT get my phone to sync to my facebook contacts. I got to the settings to get to accounts and sync. Then when I click on add account and choose facebook, it just goes back and won't add it. I am really frustrated. I got it to work before but then I had problems with my facebook and now I can't get it to work again. HELP please!

When someone sends me a pic I get an alert that it was not able to be downloaded, to retry, and then it doesn't work again. Sometimes it will push through a non received picture message from weeks ago and sometimes I just wont get any notification at all. Does Update fix the non dowloadable MMS?

I check my gmail app and the new mail is there but it says Inbox(0), NOT Inbox(1) like it should be even though the new message is bolded in font like it should. Then when I delete the message it says Inbox(-1) This might be the reason I don't get a notification sometimes. Has anyone else encountered this?

I want to sync my Facebook account and only that. I don't personally care to use the Sense inspired widgets because I like my streams separate.Anyway, I go into the Accounts menu in settings and removed the Facebook for Sense account and tried to add a new account, but whenever I click Facebook, it does absolutely nothing.I don't understand what's going on. She only gets status updates on the main screen. Short of signing up for facebook SMS messages on their site, is there a way to get MotoBLUR to give notifications for everything in facebook? My BlackBerry(s) have always done this with the facebook application, and it's a nice feature.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo today i was looking at my contacts and i noticed that anyone who has a facebook account and is linked to my contacts, has 5 linked contacts in their info. thos 5 linked contacts all being repeats of the facebook contact. its like each contact is linked to itself 5 times. i tried deleting the extra ones but it says i cannot delete a read only contact and i tried displaying only my phone contacts and disabled contact sync with my facebook account but they are still showing up. any idea of what to do?

1) why can't I link my contacts with facebook? I'm not talking about syncing them I'm talking about linking them so that their profile pics come up on under "people" on my phone, every other ROM I've used does this just fine but Zen does not for some reason.
2) Do I need an app from the market to see how fast my processor is running? I've seen where some people have run into troubles of having their processor redlined all the time

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Google and Facebook events show on my EVO's calendar. Since I keep a tight FB friends list, I don't mind the b-days showing. However, I said I'd be attending an online event from a FB contact that was set up as a daily thing for 7 hours and as a result, I've got it spamming my calendar view with four months worth of meetings. I went to FB and removed the event from my list there and went to the event page and said I wouldn't be attending, but even when I force sync the calendar, it's still showing up. Only turning off FB calendars entirely removes it, but the birthdays go with the bathwater. Is there any way to clear this that I'm overlooking?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or does the Facebook app (both Android and HTC Sense versions) absolutely suck? I just came from a Blackberry Storm and while that phone is horrid, at least they got the Facebook implementation down. The Android app doesn't seem to pick up any notifications or events and I have yet to figure out what the HTC Sense version does other than sync Facebook pictures and spam my phonebook with people I never talk to. Let me give you some examples of my frustration: Someone invites me to an event. On Blackberry: The Facebook e-mail shows up in my gmail inbox but BB filters it out and it shows up as a notification in the Facebook app. I can open up the notification, see all of the event information in the app, including a description, who's invited and it is automatically added to my phone's calendar, along with all relevant information. On Droid Incredible: The Facebook e-mail shows up in my gmail inbox as an e-mail. No notification because the Facebook app polls. I open the app and refresh everything (notifications, inbox, friends etc) but the event doesn't show up. With no other choice, I open up the link in the inbox and it brings me to the Facebook Touch (not mobile) site, which only shows the bare minimum information (time and place). No idea how to add it to my calendar other than manually typing in all of the information......
