So, I installed a couple emulators, put some roms on my SD card (yes they are definitely on the SD card and not the onboard flash), ejected my devices from my PC, and disconnected my USB cable.
Now when I open up the emulators, they are not able to see any directories on the SD card.
It's almost as if the SD card is acting as if it's still mounted. Not sure what to do here...

Background: I am writing some scripts that are used to bypass root detection for an application and I need these scripts to be compatible across devices/ROMs. I am looking to push log files from the scripts automatically incase they need to be reviewed later and am looking for a consistent place to push them to that does not require root to read or write.
Question: I have owned more than a few android devices and all the devices that I have owned have a path of /sdcard to the primary sdcard in the system. MY question is simple, is this a standard location for all android ROMs? or is it only consistent with a % of the android ROMs out there?
So PSX4Droid finally got released from the clutches of Google Market about an hour ago. Only problem now is I can't seem to get any roms to work. I set up a PSXROMS folder on my SD card, and my first d/l was Metal Gear Solid disc 1 and 2. I got them from here PSX ISO Download Section. So I downloaded the .rar, unzipped to get the .bin (says it's compatible), open the emulator, the emulator sees the files in the folder, I click it, it refreshes the rom screen. The emulator doesn't start. Am I doing something wrong? Wrong file type?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI replaced my original sdcard with a sandisk 16gb card. Everything went well until I started getting these blasted read on errors. Earlymon suggested a fix from another board but I don't have a stand alone card reader so I couldn't do it that way.
I was wondering if I just backed up all my stuff from my sdcard to my iMac and then just reformatted my sdcard via the phone, would that solve my problems?
I've got some code that downloads mp3s remotely over a streaming url connection... This all works fine but my problem is once the file is complete and I pull up the music app it's not there. A reboot of the phone and it now shows up... anyone know how to force this refresh to occur from without my code?

For those trying other roms I am wondering, Got around to rooting today and now its time to play. What i am interested in most is to retain most stock look as possible. However question is which rom has best battery life and Do any roms/radios help with signal reception?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have root access, have clockwork mod. i did a nandroid backup as well. now what is the next step? i downloaded rom manager and titanium backup(paid version) i thought i read somewhere about someone sayin that titanium has to be on the SD card or something for backing up the apps maybe same thing with rom manager? a little confused at this point im just a little bit lost here when it comes to flashing roms. i think i wanna flash capt jagers 1.6 rom but im not sure what else i have to do.

I rooted my Incredible yesterday after a couple months of contemplating it (I know ) And I think I want to try Virtuous ROM. So say I go to Virtuous, but end up wanting to go back to how I have it now (stock, root, froyo). Is that going to be hard? Is that what the nandroid backup is for? Say I go to Virtuous, then decide I wanna try Cyanogen. Do I just flash the new one after doing a Nandroid, then if I dont like Cyanogen I can just open the backup and bam it's back to Virtuous? Nub questions I know, but Im skerred. Last night I installed the rotary lockscreen from Virtuous on my stock rooted rom and I really like it. If I decide I dont like it, how hard is it to change something as small as an addon, rather than the whole ROM?

I basically just want wireless tether, and flash 10.1 for real. Im sorry if this is a noob questions, ive searched around and cannot find where I read that. I could be nuts tho too. So I downloaded two different ROMs from incredible stuff. You know you want it. And I try to install them with Rom Manager by going to Install ROM form SD Card, selecting the zip. I downloaded, and then checking backup and wipe, but when my phone boots back up, nothing has changed. What is it that I'm doing wrong? I eventually rerooted and that solved my problems. I still have no idea what was wrong.

My Incredible is Ver. 2.1 and radio 1, what is the procedure for installing roms? Can I just install any 2.2 rom right away or do I need to find a 2.1 somewhere then upgrade? Sorry, I just don't understand and I've been reading up on this for a few days. I think I understand that the Incredible will release a 2.2 update soon, do I need to wait for that. In my adventures so far, I've been able to pretty much master backing up my phone as I've had to restore it several times now.

Most of the roms I've visited recommend doing a data wipe and a cache wipe. Is this something I have to do every time I want to install a rom? I just did a factory reset for the 2.2 OTA and, quite frankly, it was a pain in the butt to get my phone back to how I had it.So, am I going to have to do a factory reset every time i want to try a rom?

Now of course I have wiped data/cache before every attempt, and have also checked internal and sdcard storage and there is more then enough room. I have reflashed with the new reflasher tool, so recovery version is 2.0.1.3. Also, I was able to successfully flash a kernel, so I am stumped. Just tried to use ROM manager to flash, same result.
I'm trying to determine how much better my battery life is based on non-scientific normal everyday usage. I installed Sky Raider 1.9 on my phone. Charged two of my extra stock 1300mAH batteries to 100% and have been running them on the phone. Will restore back to my stock ROM and try the same and see the difference. What have you guys found? Aren't we supposed to see improved battery with Froyo?

I've tried using Rom manager and directly from recovery. Re downloaded files. Maybe related but any kernels I tried stick on the same screen?

Anyway, I downloaded a ROM to my SD card (I always pick the "download folder") and then go into ROM manager and choose "install from sd card" but I can never see the ROM. For example, last night I DL the red theme for the redemptive ROM. I did not get any error messages. It look to transfer just fine. But I can find the blasted thing! I've tried looking via TB but still nothing. I've also tried via recovery but that did not work either. I have a feeling I am overlooking something stupid and as I said...will feel quite dumb but oh well.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been using the INC for about 2 months now and i really do like the phone. As all of you know, the battery sucks. I picked up the 1500 battery about the same time the 2.2 came out and the battery life dropped over the 2.1/stocker. I thought it may have been the battery so i used the stock 1300 for a while and it was TERRIBLE. To add to the issue, the battery takes longer to charge then it does die. And thats why i am posting this. Could someone give me a list of what i need to do while rooting my phone and installing custom roms? that will speed up charge time? Normally i wont ask for help like this but i have zero time to sit down and read about everything. Just looking for a simple fix to get me by for the next few months.
