When I get a picture message and get notified I have to go in and download it? I believe on my Eris it just sent the picture to me without me having to hit a download button. Not a huge deal but is everyone experiencing this. It isn't random it happens from ATT customers as well as VZW customers.

does anyone know if its possible or what app would be used to have the optical button work the same as the power button on the top of the phone. so if you push the button it would light the display up. or maybe its not even possible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got some photos stuck in an MMS that I tried to download before I realised that I didnt have the correct MMS APN settings in (due to swapping to the Modaco ROM). The correct settings are now in but the MMS is stuck at "downloading" status. Is there any way I can rescue it, there is no forward option and I've successfully sent and recieved MMS since.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI turned on my phone this morning and it said 5 updates were available, where 1 had to be installed manually. So I select to update the other 4 apps... one of the apps downloaded ok, two are reporting that the download was unsuccessful, and the 4th one (Fruit Ninja) hung on 'Installing...'. So I put the phone down, picked it up an hour later, and it still says 'Installing...'. Thing is, this is not the first time this has happened, as I routinely have apps hang while updating, either while downloading or installing since upgrading to Froyo. Anyone else have this issue? I am running a custom ROM (Virtuous), but dunno if that has anything to do with it or not.

(2) 12,181 kbps
(3) 13,372 kbps
My Eris was maybe a tenth of this. Definitely worth the switch. Wonder how it compares to the competition?
Just rooted my DInc, trying to install ROMs using ROM Manager v2.5.0.3 but every time I select "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" I get an error message stating: "Error while downloading from server. Please make sure that you have a stable internet connection, and that your SD card is inserted and has free space!" I have about 25gb left on the SD card which is most definitely inserted. Plus I have full 3g and have no problem downloading and installing ROM Manager as I reinstalled several times. Any way to fix this or do i have to install ROMs manually?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to make Amazon MP3 download to the SD card.As I understand MP3 downloads should go to the SD Card by default.On my phone (non-rooted) it keeps on creating "amazonmp3s" folder on the phone internal memory storage to save downloaded files. Amazon MP3 app doesn't have a setting to save to the SD. How can I fix this? Am I missing something?

Same file from this pc over the same Wifi takes under 2 minutes. I'm not looking for the exact same speed (though it would be awesome) but something more reasonable would be nice. Could it be the SD card is too slow in write performance? Just wondering if this is an issue with the phone, or a simple SD card upgrade.

Every time I go to download my photos from my phone (both SD card and internal), I end up downloading thumbnails and images from websites I've visited as well as people's avatars from foursquare. I end up having to delete hundreds of images every time I want to download my pix.
Any idea how to disable the downloading of the web stuff? (Can the phone differentiate web image from photos I've taken from the camera?) I've tried from both the phone side and the computer side and I can't figure it out. Also, is there any way to get my phone to stop storing these web images? I don't think I need them, do I? (I'm a newbie smartphone owner if you couldn't tell!)
So I wanted to install Cyanogen w/ Google apps, but the google apps keeps erroring when downloading. Says the zip is corrupt. So now I have Cyanogen Rom running on phone so I go to Rom Manager and try to install Google Apps (Froyo) and it says the zip is corrupt. Google Apps (Eclair) downloads fine but sends me into a boot loop. I am was running Cyanogen Mod 6.0.2. I'm back on Uncommon Sense now. Is there a fix for this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got HTC Incredible, but am still using my blackberry storm and need to for another week or so - do not want to convert prior to the company moving to google mail. Anyhow, I managed to skip the activation and am playing with the phone on WiFi only - problem - I would love to play with some apps, but cannot figure how to get them to my phone! Googling it did not help me, and all I can see is what the apps are, not how to download them. Going into the "Market" app gives me "A server error occurred".
How the heck can I get some apps and play more with the phone prior to activating with Verizon. So far I am rather impressed with this device! Seems like the hardware/OS works very nice! Browsing, doing email some other things over WiFi is blazing fast, and in general the phone interface seems very nice and intuitive! Way better than by BB Storm! Sorry if the answers are out there - I just did not manage to find the right ones.
Since 2.2 I have been unable to download anything and only get an error message after it takes you to the download screen. This is happening on the stock browser as well as skyfire. Am I missing something? This worked fine in 2.1.

All seems normal and on par with everyone else here.However, I've heard people saying that they show a $1.00 charge on their credit card account or whatever showing that they made the purchase and then that charge will turn full once the phone ships or however Verizon does it. My online Verizon account that this card is attached to isn't showing any trace of a charge from Verizon. Should I be concerned?I purchased mine with my Wells Fargo Visa check debit/credit card. The Verizon site asked for that Visa Verify (or whatever it's called) password to verify my card. I honestly didn't remember that password, but I figured it would be the password that I use for almost everything. I entered that password and the page had a processing icon or whatever and I proceeded to complete my order. I know I've used that Visa Verify before, but I just didn't remember the password.
Based on that info, should my card have been verified on the spot if it allowed me to pass the Visa Verify and complete my order? Or does Verizon do that verification later? Should I be seeing a charge from Verizon in my online Wells Fargo account yet?I just want to make sure something as small as not entering my Visa Verify password is going to make me miss out on this phone on release day.
Is there any way to control the brightness of the 4 bottom buttons, the home, back, menu and search buttons? I use my phone to watch movies in bed when I can't sleep, and in a dark room those 4 things are really bright, and never turn off, it gets distracting.

However, the one thing that BUGS THE HECK out of me is the unlock procedure. I hate grabbing the phone, adjusting my grip to hit the (power/unlock) button, readjusting my grip, then sliding the screen lock. Is there any way to use the optical joystick button to initiate the unlock procedure, as I think this would make using the phone SO much more enjoyable. I don't like fumbling with the device everytime I use it, MAKE IT EASIER HTC! Anyway, what are you're thoughts on this issue?
