i really hope someone can help me figure this out...i have seen some people have a problem and some not so im hoping we can figure out why some of us are having problems....i have tried 2 different froyo roms (both w/out sense, maybe something wrong there) and i have tried stock messenger, handcent, and chomp and none of them will send or receive a mms....please someone help!

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've rooted my Incredible with Unrevoked 3 and I have successfully used Unrevoked Forever to set S=OFF.now, I am trying to update to Froyo, but I am confused as crap.Can I use the official OTA update and do it manually? Or do I need a different ROM to update manually with.I've searched here and there everywhere and I haven't gotten a firm answer or I can't find anything at all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDeveloped a problem holding onto a WiFi signal after the Froyo update. After Froyo, I was getting a good connection intermittently, sometimes for only a few seconds before it was lost--the phone was switching to 3G and then back again, over and over. This disrupted downloads, browser connections, etc. I'm using an Airlink101 wireless-N router on the Comcast network.
I changed the router settings from G+N to N only. No more disconnects. Seems that the two protocols were conflicting with each other--fighting for a connection to my phone. My connection speeds went way up immediately (12-13 MPS download/3+ MPS upload). My wife has an Eris that does not have wireless-N capability (only G). I set up a secondary channel for wireless-G and gave it a different SSID name. This did not conflict with my phone--I didn't manually set up the login for that channel so it's just being ignored by the DInc.
Not sure if this is necessary for some wireless-N routers but it definitely worked (so far) for the Airlink.
Will not let me sign on after 2.2 update, i KNOW i have my info right, web and other twitter apps work fine, just HTC Peep

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to let everyone know that the new Incredibles are not being shipped with Froyo despite the Verizon Wireless website saying so.I ordered mine on Friday afternoon 8/27 and received it yesterday, Tues afternoon 8/30.The VZ rep told me it would indeed be shipped with Froyo since "we wouldn't put it on our website if it wasn't true". Well, shocker, it wasn't true and they shipped me my new Incredible running 2.1. Very frustrating.

Mine, FYI, (upgraded to Froyo via the OTA upgrade), reports
"version 2.1->update1"
This is the RUU, and it will wipe your phone, Clean. (It won't wipe your SD card) , but it's up to you. It's the exact same as the official that Verizon is rolling out, except a Preferred Roaming List, which just determines what towers you can connect to. This will not root your phone.

I'm always a fan of competely wiping devices then installing the OS fresh so I'm considering just ditching all that and doing the RUU. Can I acheive root if I do this?

I'm looking for people's opinions on which browser they think is best for 2.2 and why.I've searched and mostly came up with older threads talking about browsers that let you view flash sites, obviously before FROYO.I've experienced a problem on a couple different sites, using the stock browser, where the webpage continuously reloads,so when I zoom in to read something,5 seconds later,the page reloads and it zooms back out.I've tried stopping the page and 5 seconds later,it still reloads. Very annoying, so I was going to try another browser and see what happens.Any thoughts or comments please?

Also, the history does not clear. It shows it as cleared, but since I can reopen the browser and scroll back to where I have been browsing it is not deleted.Bug, or something with my phone?Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this because a friend of mine said he was not.

I was doing great until it told me to find the rom myself.... So where can I download the Froyo Rom with sense? (i'd prefer one that has the market and camera fixes...)
I got my "dinc" in early August with 2.1 onboard and recieved the OTA froyo upgrade about two weeks ago. I like 2.2 (I think) but not all the battery-vampire crap-apps that came with it. I desparately want to root so that I can explore the full potential of this phone and hopefully find some options to extend my battery and get rid of the bloatware.
Unrevoked's website says v3.2 has been temporarily pulled and to use v2.2 "in the meantime". I've tried several of the methods that call for 3.2 using 2.2 and it seems to work up to the reboot step towards the end. Each time I get this "failed to flash recovery image" message. I've followed every detail of several videos and posts (including one from this forum) instructing how to root with Unrevoked, but the end result is always the same.
1. Can I use Unrevoked to root my phone with the froyo upgrade in place?
2. If so, how? Because what I've been trying ain't gettin' it done.
3. If not, is there a way to roll-back to 2.1 so that I can use Unrevoked?
4. Could the 2.2 version of Unrevoked be casuing my "failed flash" issue?
I got my Incredible last week and a few days later I got the OTA installation for Froyo. Since installing my phone has been a little sluggish and the battery life isn't as good as 2.1. I'm considering doing a factory reset since that's what has helped some people. A few questions though:
1) How do I do a factory reset?
2) Will doing a factory reset bring my phone back to 2.1 or 22?
3) How do I back up the apps I've downloaded? Specifically the PAID ones. Will I have to pay again for them?
This may be a dumb question but, If I move an app to the sd card through froyo like say Homerun Baseball 3D, and then do a factory data reset, will I have to reinstall the game and lose all my achievements or will it be on the SD card and untouched?

Not that I know of without getting the popup every half an hour. I purchased this phone outright when it came out and want to get a droid 2 and was thinking about ways the exchange this phone. I guess what I am trying to say is; can I go to Verizon and say that they either need to change my phone back to the purchased item or take a return and give me a refund?I am ASSUMING this and wanted to know if anyone knows of any laws about this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo this morning.I noticed I wasn't getting any data service on my phone so I ran the *228 thing. Phone rebooted and problem was solved.Sort off.I turned the phone off at lunch 'cuz I wanted to see the awesome boot animation. When the phone turned back on, there was no data service. I've now found that if I do the *228 thing it fixes the problem, but only until I reboot again. I've gone into the wireless and network settings and Mobile Network is checked and stuck at turning on. Do I need to do a factory reset to fix this? I've got a back up with My Backup Pro so it's not a huge deal if I do.
