View 6 Repliesis anyone else experincing this?? like text messages are slow to open and when i type it laggs really bad. i've had it fc on my like 4 times now. its really annoying.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt works and all, but it's kinda weird. It's like the Droid has a diff way of putting together picture messages (like w/ .gif files and such). There's usually a pause, then it starts, but each transition is slow and then after it shows, you then get whatever messaged was typed in. My g/f sends me stuff from her LG Dare, and it's all put together as it should be. It's been this way for both the stock messenger and Handcent. Is there a preference option I need to tweak?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am trying to delete large text messaging threads in the stock messaging app on my Sprint HTC Hero. It is taking an inordinate amount of time to accomplish this task. I deleted one thread that had a mere fifteen texts in and that took over ten seconds. Now, I just tried deleting a thread that has one hundred texts in and it has been minutes and it still has not deleted the thread. Has this happened to anyone else? Would deleting the data in the "Manage Applications" section delete these texts faster or would that be inadvisable? In my opinion this deletion lag is ridiculous.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI had been hearing that it may have been because of Handcent SMS but I removed it and it still moves slow. Text messaging, moving to home screen, etc. Things just move very slow. How can I fix this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI like how the Incredible messaging app combines sms, mms, and vmail in one. Is it possible to put it on the EVO?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI deleted the stock messaging app thinking that I could just use Handcent. My texts are working fine but I am not receiving MMS. Does anyone have the stock messaging app .apk?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone else starting to see slow down on their Incredible? Not just a little but the loading circle showing up when opening apps or closing them. Sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds for them to just start.I have also had the HTC logo show up when closing stuff (black screen and grey HTC logo) and then the circle.
View 48 Replies View RelatedSo, I'm using the .3 of the UV Stock Hydra Kernal (not really concerned with OCing my DINC as it was plenty fast before.)However, I managed to squeeze a good 26+ hours out of my 1500 mAH battery this sunday with pretty heavy use. So I think the UV is working well, that's even running ADW. However, I also noticed some things may be running slower. Could this be attributed to the UV kernel I'm running now?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI found that my Dinc is working slower than before. For example, it takes 2 seconds to load "people". I have only 400 contacts there. When I press call, it takes 1 second to go to the dialing mode.
I have only 40 MB memory left on my phone.
Is it normal? It is supposed to have a fast processor. If not, how can I address this issue?
Connection is so slow right now I have to use wifi could this mean something like a lot of traffic right now
View 1 Replies View Relatedso my droid incredible began to slow down && i had to figure out what was making my phone so slow.. come to find out.. it was Handcent SMS -- the text messaging app i had been using ever since i bought the phone.. i updated it the last time it notified me of an update && then it stopped working... always force closing.. so i had to use chomp SMS instead.. but i hate chomp -- handcent is ten times better.. i tried reinstalling handcent on my phone but i couldnt even find it in the android market so i was assumed the maker removed it from the store.. do any of you know of any other text messaging apps that are really good for the droid incredible? or do you know of any way that i could possibly put handcent SMS back on my phone?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm so frustrated with MMS.I can't get them to send using Handcent or ChompSMS without numerous forwarding attempts. I can receive them immediately with no problems from other people even on differenct carriers, but they won't send.I finally got my SMS to stop crashing/force closing and deleting all my messages by uninstalling the Antivirus app. Im on day two (since the uninstall) without a force close.I had no problem sending MMS until I installed Handcent. I even uninstalled Handcent.Rebooted and re-installed. No outgoing MMS without 2 or 3 message forwards. I tried the Airplane Mode trick. No change. After uninstallling Handcent again, I chose ChompSMS to see if that works. Same thing.it's a no go for sending out. The stock messaging app is the only one that works, but it's so BORING.
View 11 Replies View RelatedFirst post here. I tried searching (a lot) and couldn't find the answer. You know the box that pops up when you send a text that asks what app you want to use? There is a message at the bottom that tells you how to change defaults once you check the "don't ask me again" box. I didn't bother to read that and now can't find where to change the default. Anyone know or can someone look at that box and read what it says at the bottom? I can't anymore since I chose a default and the box no longer pops up.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOk so I have fallen in love with this phone, coming from a blackberry, but have a HUGE problem..I can recieve picture messaging fine, BUT when I send to anyone who owns an iPHONE, and yes, it's the versions that are capable, they do not recieve it....I was able to send picture messages fine from my blackberry to ALL carriers, including iphones...what makes it worse is that I NEVER get an error message. Everything seems to go through so I never know they never recieved it until I follow up..
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was a huge advocate for ebuddy, but The app doesn't support Froyo, and I'm using a 2.2 rom. So, I'm hoping one of you can recommend an instant messaging app to try out.
I've tried a few and can't find one I like.
ebuddy: No froyo support
Meebo: Blows. Constant disconnects.
IM+: No longer supported
What I need:
1. AIM, Facebook, GChat, MSN
2. Remain signed in 24/7
3. Froyo support
Does the instant messaging apps such as AIM use your text messaging plan?
View 12 Replies View Relatedfor some reason my messaging app is force closing and only rebooting the phone gets it back but upon restarting ALL my messages are gone. Is this happening to anyone else?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Handcent and loved it, but the issue I had was that I was now getting notifications from both the stock HTC Messaging app and Handcent.
Since I use Google Voice for Visual Voicemail, and want to use Handcent for messaging, there is really no use for the stock HTC Messaging app.
Is there a way to disable it completely?
Does anyone also have this issue. When I turn the phone on, tap the messaging button, and then tap on a text message conversation that I want to see and reply to, there is a 6-8 second delay in for it to open. The screen goes dim and it says loading. Anyone else have this issue?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis morning around 8am central time I was prompted with a message saying a new update was available. So I downloaded it using my wireless network at home. I've been at work all day and my incredible has been laggy and I can only send txts using google voice. I usually use handcent but I uninstalled it bc it kept foreclosing after the update. Ive tried repeatedly to use the default message app but when I select it, the only thing that comes up is a blank white screen n then the forceclose message. I haven't received an incoming txt all day either.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhats the scoop behind which one is really better? The stock messaging app or aftermarket apps (handcent and chomp). I use Handcent, and lately I have been finding it to be quite laggy and slow, even with cache cleared and all threads deleted. Is the only difference between stock and aftermarket, the fact that you can customize? I would much rather have a plain looking stock app that performs well, then a customizable aftermarket app that is slow. I am just looking for some opinions.
View 16 Replies View RelatedAre you guys having any issues in North East/Tri State area of NYC/NJ? Im not getting MMS, can't download attachments, and internet is bogged down like a hooker after a long night. I wanted to know if it's just me, or if other people are having the same issues? Could it be all the droid X users bogging down our network?
View 36 Replies View RelatedI currently use the SenseUI Messaging App for SMS. I had tried HandscentSMS but ultimately decided to go back to the SenseUI implementation, due to the way the app displayed the notification when I unlocked the phone (under the unlock slide bar). I've been texting the a certain special someone quite often, somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000+ messages at this point. I notice, that when I want to bring up her thread, the phone slows down and it takes a 10-20 seconds to come up. Other threads, take only a second or two to load. I assume this is because the HTC app is effectively trying to load all 1000+ messages. Is there a way to limit the amount of messages viewable or a way to archive the messages to my sd card?
View 5 Replies View RelatedGmail.is supposed to be pushed to the Incredible correct? I am using the HTC mail widget for my pop work account and the gmail icon for gmail. But email seems much slower to reach the gmail account. Also when I send emails out the.gmail takes considerably longer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed that their incredible gets bogged down and runs super slow from time to time? Something as slow as opening hand cent and writing a response message can take for ever, I type the word and 5 seconds later it will show up. I do not get why but it is really frustrating.
View 24 Replies View RelatedMy phone charges very slowly if I plug in the charger while the phone is on, but if I turn it off for a minute with the charger plugged in and then turn my phone back on, the charge rate reverts to what I experienced under 2.1 which will fully charge the battery from 20% in about 1.5 to 2 hours. Much better than the 15-20% per hour I was experiencing after updating to 2.2. It seems to charge almost as fast as if i had turned the phone off and left it off.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI noticed today that it is taking FOREVER to charge my phone. Has anyone else seen really slow charging? I'm connected usb to my computer but "Charge only" in settings.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis may be a silly question, but is there a way to slow down the 'female' voice on the Navigate app? It talks way too fast, (no reason to) and mispronounces street names.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn 2.1 I used handcent and loved it, never had a problem. After updating handcent was extremely slow even after installing and reinstalling. I tried the stock messaging app and it's very slow too. I'm now trying chomp sms and it's still kinda slow as well. Is anybody having this problem? Could it be just a messaging bug in 2.2?
