Just wondering if it is possible to change the delay on the keyboard? More specifically...how can i shorten the delay before the symbols pop up after holding on to a letter for some time?

My father got a Droid X, sister has a one year old Moto Droid. I got my incredible last month and after playing with their phones I concluded my keyboard friggen sucks... the LAG is incredibly annoying. It takes me minutes of slaving over the keyboard to type out texts or emails. When I press a key theres a delay in it appearing in the input. If I even try to speed text everything is a jumbled mess. The portrait keyboard is even worse than the regular one. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm running Swiftkey (the problem remains on the stock input method too), and only a few apps like mail and weather. What the hell could be causing keyboard to lag so much?

View 8 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to change the delay/snooze time on calendar reminders? (I'm not talking about the default time to remind you ahead of an event). For instance, when a reminder goes off, mine currently chimes to remind me every 5 minutes until I dismiss it. I'd like to be able to change it to 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes. Right now, if I'm in a meeting or something and I snooze it, it keeps chiming every 5 minutes and gets annoying to the point where I have to dismiss it. Then I run the risk of forgetting it.

When I turn the phone on, tap the messaging button, and then tap on a text message conversation that I want to see and reply to, there is a 6-8 second delay in for it to open. The screen goes dim and it says loading. Anyone else have this issue?

Here's another - When my phone is asleep (at least I THINK that's what it is), I don't appear to get the notification for an email or a text message. Wi-fi drains the battery, right? I have horrible phone service at my house(home for the holidays) but at school the service is great, should I bother using Wi-Fi regularly?
Also is it possible to have the screen wake up when it is touched? The lock screen seems a bit unnecesary considering that there is already a lock button, so it would be nice to disable one or the other.
EDIT: Also, it seems like my phone has decided to spam my contact list with all of my Facebook "friends." That seems like it could cause some problems...

With the AlertDialog on screen, if the user opens up the keyboard on the device, then the app's OnCreate and OnResume methods are called and my AlertDialog promptly disappears from the screen ... not the effect I was hoping for!

I am currently developing an application and i need a login menu. In login menu there is a password textfield, but i don't know how to change the default keyboard. I want the keyboard changes only appear only number ( not complete keyboard as the default) when user at login menu. What should i do? My question is : can we change this keyboard for another one or at least its orientation?
the cause is that my screen is broken on the lower right coin and it block the "Done" button. annoying...
The TWRP keyboard to decrypt the disk should be fine (its "done" button is larger enough)
