HTC EVO 4G :: How To Change Delay / Snooze Time On Calendar Reminders?

Sep 27, 2010

Does anyone know how to change the delay/snooze time on calendar reminders? (I'm not talking about the default time to remind you ahead of an event). For instance, when a reminder goes off, mine currently chimes to remind me every 5 minutes until I dismiss it. I'd like to be able to change it to 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes. Right now, if I'm in a meeting or something and I snooze it, it keeps chiming every 5 minutes and gets annoying to the point where I have to dismiss it. Then I run the risk of forgetting it.

Ive mounted the phone and looked in the download folder of sd card but nothing is there, and its certainly not in any of my albums. Is this yet another bug int he Hero's mms handling? a side question is there a way to adjust the snooze time on the built in alarm clock?

HTC EVO 4G :: Calendar Reminders

Jun 11, 2010

I have my Google calendars set up to default to no reminder when I enter a new event.

But on the EVO, I can't figure out how to do that. When I enter a new event there is an option to set the reminder as "none" for that event. But under calendar settings, "none" is not listed as one of the options for the default reminder time - there's nothing above 5 minutes on the drop-down list.

Anyone know if there's any way to do this? I just can't believe it's not an option and that I have to manually delete the reminder for every single event I enter into the calendar...

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Alarm Snooze Function And Calendar

Oct 18, 2010

My alarm clock sometimes decides to snooze for an hour and 10 mins rather than 10 mins. I nearly missed work on Friday, what is going on!? I waited a long time for the X10 mini to come out and admit that I am a little dissappointed. I've had a SE W580i until recently and I am finding that there are a lot of basic things that my old phone could handle but my new one seems to struggle with.I have used my phone alarm as my only alarm clock for at least the last 5 years. I really struggle to get up in the morning and if I turn the alarm off, I'll fall straight back to sleep again, therefore I rely heavily on the phone's snooze function to wake me up eventually after going off a few times. I was initially dissappointed that you cannot personalise the snooze duration on the x10 mini, the 10 mins is usually ok for me but in certain situations I prefer to shorten it. Please consider including this in the next software update, Sony Ericsson!

But the pressing problem is the (massively) extended snooze. It happens every few days and seems to be quite random. The first few times I hit the snooze button, it works as normal. A picture of an alarm clock comes up showing the time, and a white segment of clock face is highlighted indicating how long the snooze is for (10 mins) and when it will next go off. Then, I stir due to some disturbance outside, notice that the sun is definitely brighter than it was when I was last awake, grab my phone in a panic and realise that I have been sleeping for 20 mins since the alarm last went off, and that I have less than 7 mins to get up, dressed, packed and on the bus or I will be late for work. Meanwhile my phone is cheerfully still displaying the clock face with the white segment showing that I have 40 mins left to snooze and all is well. I didn't even know it was possible for this phone to snooze for anything other than 10 mins. Unfortunately I am asleep whenever this has happened and I'm not sure how I've done it.

I have tried setting the alarm when awake and then pressing various buttons, tapping the screen in various places, even pressing and holding the snooze button or swiping it. Most of these actions do nothing and the only way to stop the alarm is to slide to turn off or press the snooze button. My theory as to what is happening is that the phone snoozes for the normal 10 mins, but then when it reaches the time to go off again, it fails to go off and then the snooze time is displayed as 50 minutes (until it reaches that time again for the next hour). I think the white segment does initially show the 10 mins, I've started checking when I hit the snooze button after it happened a few times, but I might be doing something different in my sleep somehow.

HTC Hero :: Not Getting Calendar Reminders

Sep 24, 2009

I sync my HTC Hero with Outlook, but I can't get any reminders for any appointments. All events in Outlook have a 15 minute reminder and this also seems to be the case when viewing event details on the Hero, but alas! no reminders

My settings:

Calendar->Menu->Settings->Reminders->Reminder display : Show as alert (also tried "Show in notification bar")
Calendar->Menu->Settings->Reminders->All Calendars : checked

If I uncheck "All calendars" and chose Outlook in the "Apply settings to" it doesn't save my choice. The next time I go to the settings it has reverted back to "My Calendar".

HTC Hero :: Calendar Reminders

We have a lot of all-day events in our Google Calendar, which we want a *visual* reminder of.. but have no desire to be woken in the middle of the night by an *audible* alarm reminder.

I must be missing something so simple - but how do we turn the Calendar alarm off for these, or at least prevent it from sounding in the hours of darkness?

I would like to know some thing about the calendar, can you set appointments to reoccur in, say 6 days time or something like that?

Also is there a place to store PIN numbers for cards or passwords etc. I'm useless with numbers and often need to check my current phone's "code memo" as they call it. (i have the SE K850i)

One last question, can you save tasks and set alarms to them?

Android :: Calendar Reminders That Will Keep Beeping

Jan 28, 2010

My old phone had a calendar app that you could set the reminder BEFORE the event (i.e. 5', 10', etc) and then it would keep reminding you every 5 minutes AFTER the event until you picked up the phone and checked it.

To me that kind of reminder is very useful since you could have the phone in another area and not hear the initial reminder. You pick up the phone an hour later and the reminder is still there, physically on the screen and beeping. You can't miss it.

My new phone (Mytouch) will only remind you BEFORE the event. If I miss the reminder, I am out of luck. It doesn't beep anymore. It does nothing else. It will stay on the screen, but that's it. But then you have to physically check the phone all the time.

I'm looking for a reminder that will keep beeping (5' or so) to tell me that there is something there. i.e. Calendar, email, etc.

HTC Hero :: Dismiss Calendar Reminders

Jan 17, 2010

Unlike some people, calendar reminders work fine for me in that the phone lights up and makes noise when a reminder/event is due, however, unless I get to the phone within 10 seconds of the reminder the screen goes off, turning the screen back on there is nothing about the reminder so I can't dismiss it.

10 minutes later (or whatever the timing is) the reminder will go off again, and once again if I don't get to the phone before the screen goes off I can't dismiss it... this can go on for hours if I'm doing things around the house or office and don't have the phone on my person.

Is there a way to dismiss the reminder other than sliding down the "reminder lock screen"? Modifying the event to remove the reminder after it has "fired" once doesn't seem to do anything... Very occasionally there will be a calender reminder item in my notifications and I can dismiss it from there... but that only seems to happen once a month! The rest of the time there's nothing aboutthe reminder.

Further, if I go into an appointment that has a reminder set on it, I get the following message:

HTC Desire :: Calendar Reminders - Dismiss Disappearing

May 7, 2010

Is there any way to get back to the "Snooze all/Dismiss all" screen for calendar notifications? I've been having major issues with my reminders disappearing before I can dismiss them or after I snooze them. To see what I'm talking about - set an alarm via your calendar (Google, in my case) and try to keep the phone "awake". That screen that pops up will show snooze or dismiss all buttons.

The reason why I need that screen (or at least a consistent way to dismiss the reminders) is because sometimes, odd things happen. For instance, if the reminder goes off and I pull the phone out of my pants quickly, it disappears. I don't know if it dismissed or snoozed. Often, it snoozes because it will ring again. At other times, it will play the notification, but give me no way to dismiss it. I have to power down in order to get it to stop. Talk about frustrating. When it powers back up, the notification shows in the status bar. Then, there are times when it simply vibrates once... repeatedly, but at what seems like five minute intervals. I'll feel it go off, but when I take it out, the phone has no status bar notification.

This is REALLY frustrating because my phone is my lifeline - I teach school and it reminds me when classes start and end. However, I'm a bit skittish now because I go into panic mode when it doesn't quiet or it keeps notifying me.

I have Pure Calendar Widget and Calendar Pad Pro running. Could these be causing any kind of conflict? I really like both of them because the native calendars suck. However, I am willing to let go of Cal Pad Pro if worse comes to worse.

HTC Desire :: Outlook 2003 Calendar Reminders

Every time I sync my new HTC Desire to my Outlook 2003 using HTCSync V 3.0.5422, I come up with over 300 reminders on the PC which date back to almost a year ago. I've tried dismissing them in Outlook - they go away - until next time I sync.

I tried downloading the latest version of HTCSync, but that caused the whole sync process to hang - had to uninstall it and load the version that came on the phone.

HTC Incredible :: Google Calendar Reminders Do Not Sync Correctly

Oct 21, 2010

I'm having problems with Google Calendar not syncing event reminders correctly. I am wondering if it is just me or is there a glitch with Google.

When I set up a 1 time event on Google Calendar online (not on the DInc) and set a reminder, it sync's the reminder correctly to the HTC Droid Calendar. But if I set up a reminder on a recurring event, the recurring event syncs to HTC Droid Calendar, but the reminder is deleted on the phone.

When I use Google Calendar Sync to sync with Outlook 2007, with some events the reminders will sync correctly and others the reminder will be deleted on Outlook. Some recurring events sync the reminder, some do not.

Android :: Calendar Removing Items/reminders From Phone When Syncing

Jun 3, 2010

I am having problems that when I manually or automatically sync my Gmail/Google calendar from my phone or - items and/or reminders are disappearing.

For instance, I am viewing my Gmail calendar and US Holidays Calendar in the Calendars view - I turned off/unchecked "My Calendar" and "PC Sync" calendar. I can add a reminder or two to father's day - which is June 20th and when I go back or press home I see it has saved the reminder and added a picture of a bell to the entry in my Agenda view. The reminder is there when I double check it.

But when I manually sync the calendar up with Google/Gmail sync in Accounts & sync OR let the Calendar automatically sync the alert will be taken off father's day.

I have had this problem with Events too... I will add a new event, it shows up and saves but I noticed it has disappeared from the Calendar after the sync has taken place.

Anyone else experiencing this? I looked at my Gmail/Calendar settings on the phone and Gmail online and can't find anything.

I have the HTC Incredible with Android 2.1.

All my previous phones have just performed this function without needing any setting up, assuming the birthday is set in the contact. I have so far learned that you need to ensure you have changed the settings in Google Calendar online: Settings -> Calendar Settings -> Calendars tab -> Browse Interesting Calendars -> More tab -> Subscribe to Contacts' Birthdays and Events.I have done this, and now the birthdays appear in the Calendar application on the phone. Can someone please enlighten me on how I can ensure an alert is generated for these birthday reminders in the calendar?
