HTC Incredible :: Way To Bring Phone Out Of ClockWork Recovery Mode?
Sep 24, 2010I recently rooted my phone which was on 2.2 at time of rooting using unrevoked3. Everything was going well, I performed a full Nandroid backup, moved su to systemxbin as suggested in many posts. Today I did a phone shutdown, then pressed power + volume down to get into the ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.5 menu with the intention of doing another Nandroid backup. I selected 'backup and restore' from the recovery menu and then pressed the power button to select. But pressing the power button only blacks out the screen instead of selecting the menu option. I tried depressing the power button for a longer period of time...same result. Essentially, I'm unable to get out of the Clockwork menu.

May 27, 2010I have 3 favorites to call. One directly dials the phone number when I hit the contact. The other 2 just bring up the contact info and I have to select the phone number to call them. I have the primary set OK on one, but I still just get the contact info rather than dialing the number automtically. The other I have the wrong number set as primary but I don't know how to change the primary from cell to home.

Jun 2, 2010I recently changed the storage location on my Incredible's camera from Phone Storage to Storage Card (i.e., my SD card). Yesterday I decided to move the previsouly taken photos "IMAG*.jpg" from the phone storage to the SD card and used the Astro app to perform this move. I made the mistake of using "move" rather than "copy-paste". Something went wrong and somehow none of the "imag*.jpg" that were previously on my phone's internal storage are neither there nor on the SD card.
Where could these files have disappeared to? Is there a "Trash" folder in Android like in Windows where these jpg files could be still hidden? Anyway to recover them? Using the search feature on Astro didn't reveal any of the newly disappeared jpg files.
Here's what I did using the Astro app:
step 1: navigated to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA
step 2: clicked on multi and selected all the jpg files there (about 15 or so), i.e., all file names turned orange.
step 3: clicked on Edit, selected Move.
step 4: navigated to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA which already had a few images that I had taken since changing the default storage location in my camera.
step 5: clicked on EDIT, selected Paste.
That's when I got a message saying "unable to move" or some such error - I don't recall the exact words and I had to click ok only for the same error to appear again some 15 more times. I guess it appeared once per image.
I went back to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA (the phone storage location) and to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA (SD card location) but the files aren't there in either location. Please note that I'm a noob to Android having only used Windows Mobile OS phones in the past. I appreciate any help and insight in this matter so that I don't loose files more important than some randomly taken pics.
HTC Incredible :: Click On Widget Doesn't Bring Full Weather Program
Jun 8, 2010I've downloaded Beautiful Widget and have the temp and clock on the homescreen. My question is, when you click on the widget, it doesn't bring you to a full weather program like weatherchannel or weatherbug? Meaning like, in the "stock" weather widgets, if you click on them while open, it brings u into a weather program where you then have the option to look at a closer look or detailed forecast.

Feb 5, 2014I've attempted to flash a newer version of cyanogenmod on my phone (10.1.3 to 11). I'm using TWRP 2.6.1.0. I can not boot because I've wiped the phone (dalvik, system, data, internal storage, cache), and I suspect the ROM I have is corrupted but I can't connect it to my computer and transfer the file via USB because I have no ROM installed and can not boot. My root file flashing was successful, but installation of the ROM cm-11-20140204-NIGHTLY has failed. I assume the file was corrupted, but I have no way to find out what it is. I now realize my mistakes, like wiping the system unnecessarily.Is there any way to get another file on the device?

Mar 6, 2014I'm running 4.3 on my AT&T (not sure if that is relevant) Galaxy S3. A few weeks ago I updated it to 4.3 when I saw a message that an update was available.
I keep a lot of work contacts in the phone but over the years I've built a collection of "contacts" that have no first/last name but are simply just a "Company" field with a phone and fax number.
Before 4.3 I could use the keypad in the stock Phone app to spell out company names (e.g. I could pull up the number for "XYZ Widgets, Inc." by typing "XYZ", just like searching for a person's name).
Ever since 4.3 I've been unable to do this. I go into my contacts and they are still shown there. But they do not show up when I'm typing them out. So I have a workaround but it's cumbersome.
Any settings I can change to try to fix this? I took some screen captures of the menu options I have under "call settings" in the Phone app. Link: [URL]
