General :: Add Previously Installed Apps To Play Store Wishlist
Jan 22, 2014Sometimes I install an app, then decide I don't want it installed at the time but still would like to keep track of it. So ideally I would like to add it to the wish list after I have had it uninstalled.
This seems not possible, the playstore won't let you add an app to your wish list after it has already been installed.
General :: App Updates Via Play Store For Apps Installed From APK File?
Oct 7, 2013When I install an app via apk file (because let's say the app is not yet available in Play but the apk was leaked), will I be able to get updates through Play once it has arrived there? Or will I have to reinstall the app from the Play Store and loose all app-related data (for example game states...)?

Apr 23, 2010I've seen several people make mention of missing apps in the app store in various other threads (someone mentioned PayPal for instance). These are all people who got the phone early.In another post I found the following regarding using the apk to install Google Earth. So this could an alternative if you are not able to find a certain app in the market. Doing this is dependant on the apk being available for the particular app you wish to install (dependant on the maker of the application making the apk available for download):

Oct 1, 2010Basically when i install a new rom, the market has now lost the free apps because thats what it does. the market must have some sort of file it maintains locally with the list of apps, and whether or not they are set to auto-update. where is this list so i can just paste it into my new rom, and market will automatically get all the apps and maintain the auto update settings.(also i know and use titanium backup so dont reply with 'use titanium', i just want to do what im looking for so the market always gets the latest version on a rom redo and also keeps holding the auto-update status.)

Jun 25, 2010Once I download an apk and place it on sd, and install it with astro file manager, does the apk have to stay on sd card or is it permanently installed to system until deletion?
For example my SuperUser.apk, wireless tether.apk and swype.apk were installed from sd through astro. I also have these apk's backed up with titanium backup. If i delete them from sd will they be removed and uninstalled from my system?
Also... I did a nandroid backup with the great clockwork recovery. This only backs up ROM and not apps/apks....right?

One thing I can't figure out is where dose the pictures get store to.(The Actual Directory) I did download ASTRO(Great Tool) but still am unable to hunt the actual store directory that the pics gets store to. Sep 23, 2010I have recently purchased an unlocked HTC Desire. As you may or may not know, here in Australia the only carrier of the Desire is Telstra. However I use 3 mobile so that's the reason I purchased an unlocked device.
My problem is that my phone has about a dozen or more apps which are installed by Telstra and uninstallable. Most of them are 100% useless because I'm not even on their network and I'd like them out of my applications list.
I've had a read around and I saw something about being able to remove them by deleting the file and then uninstalling them using a command prompt program.
Would anyone please be able to give me detailed instructions on how to do this because I'm not sure how to find the system/apps folder and I'm also not sure on how to get the command prompt thing to work.

And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.

Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.

Jul 31, 2010Installed the 2.2 that leaked yesterday - works amazing by the way.Anyway, I wanted to install some of my downloaded apps to SD. Surprise surprise, it doesn't appear that I have this option on ANY of the 15 or so apps I've downloaded.I've read that developers need to unlock this option when they create their app - I guess most of the apps available today just don't support it? Can anyone confirm this? Am I just doing something wrong?

Jul 14, 2010This has been happening recently with mine and my wifes EVOs. I will go to open WHERE and it says that it is not installed even though it is. When I go to the Market it shows as installed, but in order to resolve the issue I have to uninstall and reinstall the app. The same happens with Qik on my wifes phone. After the reinstall it works fine for a few days and then reverts back to the original issue.
