HTC Incredible :: Installing Previously Installed Free Apps?
May 3, 2010
So I received my new Inc today since my original one had some dust under the screen. Anyhow, I installed a bunch of free apps on my original Inc but I can't seem to find out how to get those back. Is it just paid apps that you can retrieve?

I've been meaning to ask this for a while but haven't got around to it.When you uninstall an app from your phone, via the market, that is the app entirely removed from your phone, isn't it?Is there any way of removing the previously installed apps from your downloads list on your market? Or are they there for your reference?

Sometimes I install an app, then decide I don't want it installed at the time but still would like to keep track of it. So ideally I would like to add it to the wish list after I have had it uninstalled.
This seems not possible, the playstore won't let you add an app to your wish list after it has already been installed.

I just bought the app Avanced Task Killer for my moto cliq, great app by the way. But I'm going to return and exchange the phone for a new cliq or a mytouch because of some touchscreen issues. I was just wondering if I get a new phone will I be able to retrieve my purchased apps even if I change my phone to a mytouch?

My Incredible arrives tomorrow (finally!).How much memory does it have for installed apps?I've been going through appbrain and already have selected 41 apps for 57MB and I'm just getting started. What's the limit?
When Froyo comes out, we can install apps to the SD card? Will that allow us to install more apps?

Since I flashed some of the 2.2 ROMs, I have noticed that installing/updating apps from the market is hit or miss. Right now, I have two apps that are fully downloaded but aren't installing for some reason. They are showing up in the market as 100% downloaded and just stuck on that. Any ideas? I'm running adrynalyne's Sense ROM.

So, I noticed this when the new Angry Birds Update game out (the one that added 45 new levels). Whenever I try to update this app, it downloads, but the installation always starts and just stops, saying the installation was incomplete. Of course, I went and took the next step, uninstalling, and trying to reinstall. Same problem. If I was looking at the Angry Birds screen on the market during this, it pops up Installation error Unknown reason-18 I ran into the same issue with Google Sky Map updating, and reinstalling. Same error message. Does anyone know what this error is?

Is there a file that contains the list of installed apps? Or perhaps an app to export the list? I just want to keep a list in case something bad happens to INC and I need to reinstall everything.

Does anyone know of a way to dump a complete list of apps installed on an Android 2.1 device?I am always asked what apps I have installed and it would be great to have a utility that creates an email or text file that lists out all installed applications.

Before I ask I did search and found a bunch of different techniques for installing non-market apps. I haven't tried any, but wanted to find the easiest/newest method.I have files on my computer and I was going to use drop box to transfer them to my phone. When I open the files in drop box it gives me the "for security, your phone is set to block."What is the easiest method to fix this? I am planning to root, but I just got the phone today so I want to get a handle on it first.

Once I download an apk and place it on sd, and install it with astro file manager, does the apk have to stay on sd card or is it permanently installed to system until deletion?
For example my SuperUser.apk, wireless tether.apk and swype.apk were installed from sd through astro. I also have these apk's backed up with titanium backup. If i delete them from sd will they be removed and uninstalled from my system?
Also... I did a nandroid backup with the great clockwork recovery. This only backs up ROM and not apps/apks....right?

I installed firefox mobile (alpha version) just to test it out, but I can't for the sake of it find it on the phone. Tried install it again and it says it was successful. Still nothing, and I find nothing when I try to uninstall it. The phone says it got 56MB left of internal storage. Have I just spent a great deal of the internal memory installing a "ghost app", and how can I get rid of it in that case? I don't have that many apps on the phone.

I have recently purchased an unlocked HTC Desire. As you may or may not know, here in Australia the only carrier of the Desire is Telstra. However I use 3 mobile so that's the reason I purchased an unlocked device.
My problem is that my phone has about a dozen or more apps which are installed by Telstra and uninstallable. Most of them are 100% useless because I'm not even on their network and I'd like them out of my applications list.
I've had a read around and I saw something about being able to remove them by deleting the file and then uninstalling them using a command prompt program.
Would anyone please be able to give me detailed instructions on how to do this because I'm not sure how to find the system/apps folder and I'm also not sure on how to get the command prompt thing to work.

Anyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts. So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing. However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself. Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?

Is there any way to remove pre-installed programs?
For example, the following programs were pre-installed:
Amazon MP3
Footprints
Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?
Sprint TV
Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
