Jul 23, 2010I'm getting a "Low on Space" Icon but when I check my "SD Card and Phone Storage" it seems I have plenty of space left or am I just reading it wrong? Does "Available Space" not mean, the space I have left to work with?

May 5, 2010I have like 640mbs available for memory, however when I try to check my messages I am getting an error message that my phone memory is full and that I need to delete some files, but I really don't anything on there.

Sep 9, 2010Not had my desire long but down loaded a few apps for it they all seem to be stored on phone memory not the sd card. what is stored to the sd card seems to be unused so far. do you have to set it up to use sd card or does it know one is fitted. does it switch to sd card when phone memory full. will run out of space soon if can't get things to store to card instead of phone mem.

May 22, 2009I am working with big png images, 6000x6000 pixels, for example. I want to show a fragment, 320x480 pix for example, with full resolution, without scaling first the whole image. But I can't create an initial 6000x6000 bitmap because an obvious out of memory problem, and then extract a fragment. How can I do that with android API? Is it posible? or, I need an external advanced image API. or I need to write my own png decoder (I think that it should not be easy).

Aug 8, 2013I have been having a major problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. The internal memory of the phone should be 11.25GB (even though it should be 16, but I know how these stuff actually work), Surly I have an extra external SD card, but that's not the problem. The internal memory keeps being filled with nothing.here is a picture to demonstrate the situation:
As you can see the total space is 11.25 GB and if you count the applications, pictures, videos and miscellaneous files, they constitute no more than 2GB, which means that there should be no less than 9 GB left as available in the phone's internal memory, but as you can see I have got 5.84 GB available. How did that happen?
I have rebooted the system yesterday when the internal memory was completely full (even though I have only 2GB filled). And I have a feeling that by tomorrow I will get the memory completely full without downloading or adding anything on the phone.
And don't tell me I should clean cache or whatever that thing is, because I have already done that, and it's not working.

May 29, 2010I have an Android TextView where the view itself is limited to four lines.If the text exceeds this limit I want the end of the view to end with something like.<-- to notify that there is more text here so you can click and open in full screen for example.Not just suddenly stop in the middle of a sentence. Sep 27, 2010New forums user here. Had my i9000 for about 2 weeks now and still trying to work out a few very small things to make my phones exactly the way I want it. One thing that has escaped me thus far despite all my googling and digging through menus and options in the phone is a way to display the full titles of programs. Ie: I'm running Opera Mini and the icon in the applications menu and on my home screen says "Opera Min" and then the text fades off. I would like it to just say "Opera Mini." Eight characters(ish) for a filename is so Windows 3.1, I would think there would be a way to have the full name displayed.

HTC EVO 4G :: Phone Memory Full After Fresh Install
Oct 31, 2010I am fairly new to the whole rooting thing but I managed to get my Evo rooted with unrevoked and then loaded Fresh 3.3 on it a week or so later. I did a couple of back ups using titanium back up, one of the stock ROM and one with the fresh ROM. I kept these on the SD card but I think I should move them to my computer b/c they are large files. What should I have done once I installed Fresh 3.3? Is there something on the root of the SD card I should have deleted? I don't have the space to update to the fresh 3.4 right now and would like to get it updated ASAP.

Oct 3, 2010This is a problem that has been annoying me for some time, but has recently become ridiculous. As we all know the internal memory is pretty small on the Desire, and i've tried to be conservative with the apps I install (unless I know they can be moved to SD). However, despite this i'm constantly low in internal memory. at the moment, the only apps i have installed on the internal memory are beautiful widgets (1.36mb), colornote (524kb), facebook (3.05mb), mixzing (3.70mb), multicon (316kb), swiftkey (1.84mb), (tasker (1.43mb), voice search (2.54mb) .everything else I have moved to the SD card via app2sd or through the recently posted trick to get all apps to automatically install to SD. As you can see, the apps I have installed (obviously this excludes all the various htc stuff that comes preinstalled etc) falls far short of the supposed 148mb that i have available to install apps, so can anyone shed any light on what might be going on? I've tried clearing various caches to try and free up some spece but this has barely had any impact and this is truly starting to bug me. I've got a desire on 2.2

Aug 19, 2010I've been running with about 15-20mb of memory left for the last couple of months perfectly happily, haven't installed any new apps etc. This morning when I woke up the phone was suddenly reading completely full with something like 44kb of internal memory left. I went through and deleted a bunch of apps, emptied various caches and got the memory back down to 130mb of the 147mb. Now, I've had my phone on charge all afternoon, maybe 3 texts and 5 emails have come in and all of a suddenly the memory is totally full again! Most apps now force close because there's not enough memory to run them but something is obviously just filling up the memory somehow. Anybody else have this problem, or any ideas how to solve it?

Feb 17, 2013I tried out a few roms on my motorola defy plus, and as of today I have absolultely no space on internal memory, although it is supposed to be 1GB in size.
I'm thinking that this happened, because every time I tried out a new rom, I installed all the applications I use all over again.I tried clearing the cache, the Dalvik cache from recovery, but it didn't work.
In this way I am unable to install any aplications whatsoever, whenever I try to open the Market, the phone hangs for a while and then reboots, actually whatever I do with it, it reboots, for example opening the contact manager, trying to manage the apps and so on.
