When I click on settings then wallpaper then gallery to change my wallpaper I get a message that says "not enough memory, delete some items." It also does this when I go straight to the gallery. I can't delete any items if I can't open the gallery. What can I do short of a factory reset.

Not had my desire long but down loaded a few apps for it they all seem to be stored on phone memory not the sd card. what is stored to the sd card seems to be unused so far. do you have to set it up to use sd card or does it know one is fitted. does it switch to sd card when phone memory full. will run out of space soon if can't get things to store to card instead of phone mem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am fairly new to the whole rooting thing but I managed to get my Evo rooted with unrevoked and then loaded Fresh 3.3 on it a week or so later. I did a couple of back ups using titanium back up, one of the stock ROM and one with the fresh ROM. I kept these on the SD card but I think I should move them to my computer b/c they are large files. What should I have done once I installed Fresh 3.3? Is there something on the root of the SD card I should have deleted? I don't have the space to update to the fresh 3.4 right now and would like to get it updated ASAP.

This morning I downloaded and installed Omega Files (Omega Series ROM kitchen) on my cellphone after a few hours it switched off. And then it took like 10 minutes to switch back on as the screen was stuck on the splash screen.
I had like 500-600Mo of free memory out of 2Go for apps and now I only have 20Mo...
Is there any file manager (that sorts folders by size) out there so I can do so cleaning ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my Desire for about 3 week snow. I absolutely loved it at first but am becoming increasingly frustrated. Main problem is the battery needs charging so often. I have done all the things suggested, dimmed lights, changed wall paper,turned off internet etc., but after playing a few games and making a couple of calls back to the charger it goes.
Now, today I went to send an sms and it says phone is full and won't let me send a text.! What's with that? 3 weeks old and it's full? I'm in shock. I have deleted as many msgs as I can and deleted some apps I don't use but still I can't send a text or open one. I really don't know what I can delete and now think this is going to be an eternal problem. This phone has turned from a huge delight to a huge disappointment for me and I haven't even paid my first bill.

Have 11G of 14 on SD card, but only 25MB free on internal phone storage.
Just got a text message that wouldnt come thru, and it said 'no text message space left'.
Just uninstalled somethings that were 10MB, now giving me 35MB free but
I keep getting texts, the phone vibrates , which it wasn't set to do, and says 'text memory full'. I am assuming it is vibrating to give me a warning.
Can I clear some of the text memory, or must I clear all of it. And if so for either, how do I do this.
I have moved apps to sd card that makes sense.
How can I free up more space.
I ordered a ZAGG full body max protector to replace my Body Glove case. I didn't know if anyone had any experience with covering the whole body with this thing? I went with the max vs the easy version because I'd think the corners are going prolly mostly likely to get hit if it's dropped and the easy version doesn't protect sides/corners. Obviously this provides no shock protection if it's dropped but it's a nice compromise between showing off it's sexiness and protection.
View 25 Replies View RelatedI was looking at the Captivate and the iphone4 in store today and when comparing the same web pages in full page view the text on the Captivate was much smaller than the iphone4, even though the iphone screen is smaller. Zoom just made everything bigger so it wasn't in full page anymore. Is there a way to make the text bigger while in full page view? On a side note, that iphone4 screen is super sharp for text and the whites were much whiter vs the blueish tint on the Captivate.

I did download a lot of free apps last night but have 10gb free after music and photos. I have used the app killer to kill processes and then I can work again. What am I doing wrong. I downloaded 30 apps I believe. I thought I heard something only x amount for apps. If this is so, then if I install a micro sd card, then can apps go there?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI do not have or use and SD card...only the internal memory. When I'm not connected to a PC it recognizes this. All of my ringtones and notifications are present.
When I connect to a PC, though, the phone seems to want to only use the SD memory. I can't see my custom tones, all applications want to use SD memory, and apps only want to download new info to a non-existent SD card.
Is there a way to change this behavior? It's driving me nuts. When I'm connected to my PC and my phone rings...it uses a default tone. The first time it happened I had no idea what the sound was.
I am noticing that with my captivate (after running a task killer) I never seem to be able to free up more than 154. With my old Incredible I was able to get into the low 200's. Anyone know why?

I notice that when the phone is fresh off a reboot, it has somewhere in the neighboorhood 140-145mb or free memory, but after 10-12 hours of the phone being on it down to the 60s. At this point the UI lag is much more prevalent.I don't mind rebooting the phone once or twice a day, but I was wondering if there are any other alternatives

Today, higher, every time someone texts me it says in the notifications "text message memory full (incoming message rejected due to full memory. Please delete old messages...)". However, when I check my phone memory it says there is still 16mb left, and my SD card has 1.3 gb left. I went to "manage Sim card messages" and it says there are no messages on the Sim card. So i deleted some of my threads that had over 200 msgs and nothing happened. Whats up? I mean I thought it could hold infinite number of text messages.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I plugged my new Captivate into my PC (Windows 7 64-bit) and the Captivate says it's connected, but the PC shows no signs of it being connected. I called SAmsung support, and from what I could understand of what the "tech" told me, this is a bug, and there's no way for a PC to recognize the Captivate unless there's a memory card installed. is this correct? Once a 16GB memory card is installed, do you have 64-GB of storage space you can use for music, etc?
This seems like a mammoth problem - do they have any timeframe for a fix for this? Or is the "tech" incorrect? I can't believe I just bought a brand new "Smartphone" to replace my old mobile phone and MP3 player, and I can't copy files to it. Help!
Should Samsung Kies be selected as the USB setting? That's the default.

I recorded one video that was about :30 seconds and took two pictures. Now when I open my camera I get a "warning low memory" message. I checked the sd and phone storage from the settings and its showing 1.68gb available? also when i go to gallery i cannot look at pictures or watch the video I recorded.

I have been having a major problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. The internal memory of the phone should be 11.25GB (even though it should be 16, but I know how these stuff actually work), Surly I have an extra external SD card, but that's not the problem. The internal memory keeps being filled with nothing.here is a picture to demonstrate the situation:
As you can see the total space is 11.25 GB and if you count the applications, pictures, videos and miscellaneous files, they constitute no more than 2GB, which means that there should be no less than 9 GB left as available in the phone's internal memory, but as you can see I have got 5.84 GB available. How did that happen?
I have rebooted the system yesterday when the internal memory was completely full (even though I have only 2GB filled). And I have a feeling that by tomorrow I will get the memory completely full without downloading or adding anything on the phone.
And don't tell me I should clean cache or whatever that thing is, because I have already done that, and it's not working.
So i remember seeing somewhere that froyo would show all 512 of our memory or something..did this happen? where do we notice it?

So, I guess the only thing on the SD card is the pics I took.What can I move to the SD card, and how do I go about doing that? I would think just moving all the Market Apps to the SD side would solve my problems. Any help out there?
