I run on a desire 2.2 froyo. I have enabled apps to sd, and moved all the apps that can be moved?(dunno if i can move all the apps?)well, the problem is, my internal memory gets filled up pretty fast. So my question is:"How to move all the "crap" over to the sd-card?"

Even though I am on 2.2 and alot of my apps have bee moved to SD, I still only have 12% left.my most recent downloads havent helped as they cannot be moved; a few icon packs, folder organizer, android agenda widget and astrid, still, before this, I was still only on 20% Are apps fully moved with the move to SD option in 2.2?

The internal memory was getting full so I installed a new 4gb sd card thinking it would give me more storage, this is ok for music photos etc. but seems apps are stored on phone memory, when I want to get new apps I have to remove some old ones , I've looked on market for an apps to keep apps on sd card, but can't find anything.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is a problem that has been annoying me for some time, but has recently become ridiculous. As we all know the internal memory is pretty small on the Desire, and i've tried to be conservative with the apps I install (unless I know they can be moved to SD). However, despite this i'm constantly low in internal memory. at the moment, the only apps i have installed on the internal memory are beautiful widgets (1.36mb), colornote (524kb), facebook (3.05mb), mixzing (3.70mb), multicon (316kb), swiftkey (1.84mb), (tasker (1.43mb), voice search (2.54mb) .everything else I have moved to the SD card via app2sd or through the recently posted trick to get all apps to automatically install to SD. As you can see, the apps I have installed (obviously this excludes all the various htc stuff that comes preinstalled etc) falls far short of the supposed 148mb that i have available to install apps, so can anyone shed any light on what might be going on? I've tried clearing various caches to try and free up some spece but this has barely had any impact and this is truly starting to bug me. I've got a desire on 2.2
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've been running with about 15-20mb of memory left for the last couple of months perfectly happily, haven't installed any new apps etc. This morning when I woke up the phone was suddenly reading completely full with something like 44kb of internal memory left. I went through and deleted a bunch of apps, emptied various caches and got the memory back down to 130mb of the 147mb. Now, I've had my phone on charge all afternoon, maybe 3 texts and 5 emails have come in and all of a suddenly the memory is totally full again! Most apps now force close because there's not enough memory to run them but something is obviously just filling up the memory somehow. Anybody else have this problem, or any ideas how to solve it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried out a few roms on my motorola defy plus, and as of today I have absolultely no space on internal memory, although it is supposed to be 1GB in size.
I'm thinking that this happened, because every time I tried out a new rom, I installed all the applications I use all over again.I tried clearing the cache, the Dalvik cache from recovery, but it didn't work.
In this way I am unable to install any aplications whatsoever, whenever I try to open the Market, the phone hangs for a while and then reboots, actually whatever I do with it, it reboots, for example opening the contact manager, trying to manage the apps and so on.
I kept trying different roms after rooting on my HTC Explorer..
I had got 90mb internal free when it was orginal .. But now when i rooted and flash different roms, Currently using jaggy rom 4.1 my internal is only 13mb free.. i reversed mounted it and got my internal as 1gb but my original internal is just 13 mb left for me.. First it use to be around120mb... Any way in which i can get my internal again to normal...
Moved to troubleshooting.

This morning I downloaded and installed Omega Files (Omega Series ROM kitchen) on my cellphone after a few hours it switched off. And then it took like 10 minutes to switch back on as the screen was stuck on the splash screen.
I had like 500-600Mo of free memory out of 2Go for apps and now I only have 20Mo...
Is there any file manager (that sorts folders by size) out there so I can do so cleaning ?

Not had my desire long but down loaded a few apps for it they all seem to be stored on phone memory not the sd card. what is stored to the sd card seems to be unused so far. do you have to set it up to use sd card or does it know one is fitted. does it switch to sd card when phone memory full. will run out of space soon if can't get things to store to card instead of phone mem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI connected the Incredible to my mac and did not touch the internal storage; I just created a folder on the SD card to move a ringtone over from my laptop. Now, when I load up the camera, I get a message: Phone storage is full or unavailable. Storage has been switched to SD card.
UPDATE: I just shut it down. After rebooting, it was able to read the internal phone storage. Not sure why it did that.
My rooted THL W200 has a fat I mean a huge portion of the internal memory crushed by something. See screenshot.
I'm so low on internal storage that I can barely do anything. It's crippling my phones basic functionality. Is my OS bloated or what. Is a clean install of 4.2.1 really over 500mb!!!
So far I have tried wiping the dalvik cache with an app, barely freed anything. Is there anything I can do. Bare in mind that the default recovery is running and it's entirely in chinese so how to use it and getting CWM doesn't appear to be too simple on this phone.

Had about 30 megabytes open, and did not check on Fennec size. Install failed, due to lack of space. But, now I show 249 of 261 megs used. I not sure why, if the installed failed, how any space was used. And, did not find any apps installed under Fenenc or Mozilla. Also, when I try to update other apps, the update process starts, but never completes.How can I find what did install and delete it, or regain my free space.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've started seeing some apps that offer to read/write data to the internal phone memory (like Super KO Boxing 2, which offers to save a whopping 52MB to the phone memory). I suppose this is because newer Android devices have a lot of internal storage, as opposed to my devices, which have very little. I would like to support internal storage in my app as well.
But it's a bit difficult to implement a solution to something that I don't really know how it works. For example, do these newer devices allow users to upload files to the internal memory, like it's possible to do with the SD card? Can someone explain internal storage from an user perspective and recommend strategies for supporting read/write operations both for internal and external memory (ie: letting the user choose which memory to use at startup, like the Super KO Boxing 2 app)?
The product I have in mind is a Android phone with 32 GB of internal storage, plus the usual microSD expansion slot.

Is it possible for an app to grow or continue to use up internal memory as you use it? I installed a new Android/Facebook app named Dungeon Quest less than a day ago. Since then I have use this app on and off but I have noticed that gradually my phones internal memory has been growing (from 231mb used to 240mb)! I haven't made any of My space is now getting critical.
Is there anyway short of rooting to reclaim this space? This seems to be a buggy app. I'm wondering if its got some kind of error log file growing in my internal memory area?

I don't think I have anything on there except for the 18 stock apps I have (including apps like titanium backup, and Link2SD that came with my ROM). I've gotten rid of all the bloatware on the phone, deleted most of my cache, and moved all of my downloaded apps to the SD card. I've even gone as far as to replace the web browser with Opera mini (and put it on the SD card), and prevented the device from installing a 10 MB update for the google play store. Even though the phone only has 14 MB (138/152 MB), I would think that would be more than enough to receive text messages. The phone doesn't even want me to do that.
I do have a few thoughts as to what could be causing this problem. First off, even after I've deleted an app via titanium backup, the app still appears in titanium backup with a line through it. This leads me to believe that the app still has data left on the phone. Second, I'm thinking Link2SD isn't actually moving all of the app to the SD card. In that case, I guess I don't have any choice but to remove all of my extra apps.
I actually have one solution that may or may not work. If I could somehow make the device treat my extra (32 GB) SD card into thinking it's the phone's external storage, then I wouldn't have to worry about overloading it at all. Would this work flawlessly?

I've read the docs: http://developer.android.com/intl/fr/resources/articles/tts.html, then had a quick look at the SDK source code. Found out that SDK TTS functions are using the PICO Text to Speech from libttsespeak.so, didn't go any further yet.
Anyone ever synthesized a text to a File and did it to internal memory, (like a FileOutputStream), not to /sdcard?
I want to be able to publish the saved wav through a Content Provider. And being dependent on the presence of /sdcard does not seem the ''proper'' way to me.
I have downloaded a file from HttpConnection using the FileOutputStream in android and now its being written in phone's internal memory on path as I found it in File Explorer
/data/data/com.example.packagename/files/123.ics
Now, I want to open & read the file content from phone's internal memory to UI. I tried to do it by using the FileInputStream, I have given just filename with extension to open it but I am not sure how to mention the file path for file in internal memory, as it forces the application to close.
