There are a lot of threads popping up due to the OTA install. I noticed it included Slacker radio and a vCast Apps app. Has anyone successfully moved/removed these apks without any negative side effects?

I recently picked up my EVO, and am loving it. Does anyone know if there are negative effects to leaving the phone on the charger? At work, I'm primarily in my office, and could leave the phone on the charger during the day and then it would always be full when I leave in the afternoon.

Maybe I am rem wrong, but with $15 data pac on my voyager and dare seemed to include vcast. So with $30 pac , it's not free/included? Anyone want to remind me why vcast would be worth extra $10 a month vzw will now charge you? *it didnt impress me enough to rem it

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to free up space for my phone apps to run, by moving music files from the /emmc/music folder to my SD card. I succeded only when I resorted to using my PC connection, when both Astro and ES Explorer gave me "files cannot be moved" errors. I would prefer not to have done it this way, when I could have made use of such apps, but some part of the system is set against this. My phone isn't rooted, but I doubt that is the reason, as my PC was able to access files under /emmc (but not /system), and move them to my SD card. With my phone apps it's different, in that I cannot perform any operations at all under the root, not even copy (but I can look) Please help if you can!

My phone is telling me my internal storage is nearly full, whereas I have a 4gb microsd card which is not being used.
How do I move my applications to the SD card (or how do I have my apps automatically install there in the future)
I don't know if this was already posted and I am sorry if it was, but I would just like to show people how to sideload apps NOT using root and in very simple words.
1. Download Droid Explorer for your system. (de - Release: Droid Explorer 0.8.7.0 Beta)
2. Now, go to your phone. Settings> Applications> Development > USB Debugging.
3. Make sure you downloaded the drivers for the captivate then plug in your phone and select PC connect and mount the phone.
4. Now open Droid Explorer and connect the device. Right click and select batch install.
5. Now a screen should pop up and you should select the APKs you would like to install and it is self explanatory from there on out.
That should do it, sorry if this was posted somewhere else or something but I kind of figured this out on my own even though I am not a very techy guy.
I'm developing an app and i need to detect when the user shakes the phone from side to side , that means just along one axis (in this case X).I want to know when the user shakes the phone to the left and when to the right, the problem is that my code does not detect shaking but tilt, i have tested this code and it works when i tilt the phone to left or to the right, but not when a shake it from side to side (no matter the orientation of the phone).

View 5 Replies View RelatedIt seams for every kind of important function, there are at least 2-5 apps.With all the websites and forums there does not seem to be a place where Android apps are compared directly against each other.I'm constantly trying to find the "best in class" app before I download one of them.I'm trying to avoid downloading and removing a bunch of them in a "trial and error" fashion.I am amazed that these types of comparisons have not been done and documented a thousand times over.

The program claims to work on un-rooted phones (though mine is rooted).My girlfriend's Captivate is not rooted though so I will test this out on her phone as well to confirm it. Check it out though. I've already gone to town with this and it works great.

Then it goes into the CMD language for PC on how to edit the database file using CMD prompts to enable the sideloading of APKs directly on the phone.......................
I searched online and tried fooling around with the phone forever, but was wondering why the side volume controls control the media volume and not the ringer volume when on the main screen. Any idea if there is a way to switch this? Like I am at work and just want to lower the volume I have to dig into the settings for ringer volume and wish I can just do it from the main screen by using the side buttons.

As I'm a bit stubborn, I've done some tests but I only manage to display one ListView which fill all the screen even if I use "wrap_content" or if I put each ListView in a LinearLayout. The final goal is to connect these ListViews together, clicking on an item from the first will update the content of the second, and so on.Should I user ScrollView instead ? For those who will say that three ListViews won't fit in a mobile screen, I trying to make an application for a tablet :)
