've noticed suddenly that I have no sound on any clip playing from a youtube embed. Am I the only one? Thought everything was fine yesterday... Sound settings look ok and Vimeo embeds are working properly. I was checking out this page: [URL] ......

Can anyone shed any light on why I'm unable to click and play a youtube clip on an Android handset when placed inside a webview?I've put a very simple app together (it's being extended, but no right away) and it has a web view assigned using the Android SDK.The rest of the webview works as expected (text, images, css etc), however, the YouTube clips will not show, they just show as black or white rectangles (where the video embed should be).We use the same view to display content on the iPhone app equivalent, without any issues.This is using a basic flash embed, the Safari browser on iPhone converts these to H.264 and plays them nicely in QuickTime.Can Android do the same?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy mom was messing around on her note 2 and I dont know what she did but now everytime we try to open google chrome it automatically opens the youtube app. We can only get past this if we press back enough times to get back to chrome but this happens every time and its really annoying.

You have to call the recognizer intent, have it send the recording for transcription to google, and wait for the text back. Some of my ideas would require recording the audio within my app and then sending the clip to google for transcription. Is there any way I can send an audio clip to be processed with speech to text?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the SoundPool to play a series of small audio clips and am having issues with the audio when it starts. I have the audio attached to a button press. When I press the button mulitple times the tick persists. I was wondering if this was the audio file itself or is there something I need to do differently with the SoundPool other than play simply play the clip. These are .ogg files I created using Audacity. When I play them in my dekstop media player, they sound fine.

I have a sound clip that I want to use as my sms alert. I have placed it on the sd card under Audio/Notifications and I can play the sound file OK but when i go to the settings of the sms app (Handcent SMS) and choose Notification Setting and then Select Ringtone, it does not display the sound file. I have stored on the card, just the built-in ones, How do I make the app use the stored sound file.

That lag isn't present when I watch it on my laptop (well, the typical 53ms lag yes, but nothing else). I've tried multiple videos and all the same results. Sound is always late by about 0.3s.
Its a real turn off to see the mouth move first, then hear the sound.
Is there any other apps which I can watch youtube in high quality, without facing this sound problem?

I use <AnalogClock android:layout_width="wrap_content" :layout_height="wrap_content" /> in my layout XML file, but the clock's appearance is different from the one added in Home screen. I know I can copy the AlarmClock's images to my project. And in xml file, set the android:dial, android:hand_hour,and android:hand_minute to my project's images. But I want to know is there a way to directly reference the resource in the AnalogClock?

The bookmarks on my Nexus in Chrome haven't sync'd up to the server yet and contain all the bookmarks I've lost. I'm looking for a way to extract them from my phone and try to port them back to my desktop.
I'm running stock ICS, but I am unlocked and rooted.
I also have a Titanium Backup that should hopefully also contain a valid back up of the data.
I have motorola defy running CM10, and I can sync chrome bookmarks using chrome for android. But the app is a bit laggy on defy, so I am using stock android browser and here is a method to sync bookmark between chrome browsers and android browser:

In your android Smartphone go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> browser and Clear data. Now go to Settings -> Accounts & sync. You will be able to see Sync browser is working fine now. Open the browser and go to Bookmarks. Now you can see all the Bookmarks that you have in desktop browser in your Android Smartphone browser as well.

I have quite a lot of content to have in my application to make it run properly, and I'm thinking of putting all of it in a database, and distribute it in an embedded database with the application in the market.

I recently spotted my 9 year old son searching for inappropriate stuff inside the Google Chrome app. Is it possible to restrict the browser so that when he googles certain words, it wouldn't bring out any results? I've seen programs that do that but I can't recall any of them. Oh, and he's using the original Nexus 7.
