View 7 Replies View RelatedI updated to the official (rooted) version of Froyo and tried to reinstall Sling player but it's just not on the market. My wife can find it on her 2.1 handset but I can't. Is there a reason for this that I'm not privy to? Will the backed-up copy work?

View -1 Replies View RelatedMy unbranded SGS is currently running 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6) which I updated via the registery hack last month. It's running smooth and I've not had any problems My question is, what is the difference between my existing version and the 'offical' Froyo 2.2 that will be released soon? Would I be able to update my firmware to the newer version since I'm already on 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6)?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is an android problem, or a samsung i9000 problem, but either way it's an annoying problem that I'd love to find a solution for ?_? I simply cant get the alarm to work for me (overnight. it's fine in the very short term). It appears to be because the clock stops moving/updating when the phone goes to sleep, because when I turn the screen back on I can see that the time is off by multiple hours, depending upon when it stopped updating, and stays that way for a couple of seconds before changing to the correct time.
Things to note here..
I do NOT use a task killer
The alarm volume is up
I have tried the alarm both with and without the Automatic, network provided time setting. The clock still stops moving. I've not updated anything from the standard (UK) firmware
Alright this may have been asked a few times, or maybe it could not of been asked. I just can't find the thread related to answering this question.
Okay so my question is, can I flash Galaxo 1.6.2 or GAOSP "without" ODIN flashing or updating my firmware to 1.6? and not then what consequences would occur if I don't flash firmware update before GALAXO 1.6.2 flash. My phone firmware version is I7500ZHJA1 and I believe that is the latest firmware for my region which is still Android 1.5.

Ok i had to do a factory reset after the update (after backing up my contacts), but now it works faster, is more beautiful and of course Flash player is installed. A lot of little neat things were added as well. So i am happy and you should be too! Go update through KIES! Froyo should be there!

View 18 Replies View RelatedAt a press conference in New Delhi, the VP of marketing made a comment that galaxy s won't be updated to Android 2.2
Comments made were as followed:-
UPDATE: The Galaxy S wont be able to update to Android 2.2 and above. It will remain on Android 2.1.
UPDATE 2: Samsung will update the Galaxy S to 2.2 from their manufacturing facility. No word on the timing but those new devices will run on Android 2.2. They are still working on how to upgrade current units that are running on Android 2.1.
Have a read here from Cellpasion and also here on Twitter.
I know its only a test build but from what you have so far what is your judgment?? On a side note, I like that they added color to the settings similar to HTC sense. Its it as fast and as smooth as in this video?

]I got a samsung galaxy s on contract with t mobile in the uk. When I go on kies I see that there is a firmware update available but it says that its not available for my handset.
Now my baseband number is I9000boJF1 and my firmware version is 2.r update. I heard some post say recently that 2.2 update is only available for payg handsets and not contract handsets is that true? If the froyo update is still out there for t mobile then i will wait but if it is not coming at all then can someone post me how i can use the odin method to upgrade. Note my baseband version, last time I used odin with wrong files and it messed my galaxy s.
By typing *#1234# I get
PDA: I9000BOJG3
Phone: I9000BOJF1
CSC: I9000GTMUJG1

View 3 Replies View RelatedEdit: oops sorry, kind of a double post as I eventually found the thread I was after and asked there. But since I pressed the post thread button I may as well ask here.I'm trying to replace a notification file in system/media /audio/notification and not having much luck. Astro won't do it. I've tried the file manager in Android Mate (given su permission) and it deleted the original file and when I transfer the new one in it says it was successful but the file doesn't show up. Reboot and it's still not there. Is there a good free file manager that will work with rooted phones, or what is the best paid one to go for? Thx
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recently got this phone for a good price :-) My first android phone, I love it! I'm not ready to install galaxo yet, but I wanted to speed up my current rom. So I rooted the phone and installed recovery on it and installed the froyo JIT thingie and it seems to have sped up a little. I want to overclock to 614mhz, sweet spot, so I installed the setcpu, but it only goes up to 528mhz, and I've tried searching, and I can't seem to find an answer. So I was wondering if someone could lead me to the right path?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a samsung galaxy gt n7005 and the software was full of bugs with android 4.0.4.
Then I made a big mistake because I rooted with android 4.1.2 but for ata. Everything was working except the phone functionality
Since then the bed luck followed me and I try to install the 4.0.4 again and didn't work.
I would like to install jelly bean, I don't mind custom rom. If is not possible to install jelly bean it's fine even with android 4.0.4
