View 4 RepliesThe problem seems to happen more often since the 2.2 update. Custom ringtones for individuals, as well as default ringtone, change for no reason, as do notifications. I typically set my notification at zero volume plus vibrate, then the next day I'll hear a notification go off, and find in the settings that the checkbox for using the same volume for notifications as ringtones is checked again. So I have to uncheck it, and slide the notification volume back to zero. Is there some way to lock my settings?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy 2.2 DINC with lastest OTA (been over a couple of weeks) while plugged in as usual overnight, announced "DROID". I looked over and the phone had obviously rebooted itself. This is the only time this has happened to my DINC. I don't find anything out of the ordinary on the phone. Any clues why it would reboot itself without being asked?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI followed the guide at the sticky and the unrevoked3 said done, I rebooted into clockwork recovery, did backup, and rebooted, but all my apps are still there and working. Is that normal? I thought they would all be going away
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I could hit 1000 hours without rebooting and I was able to. Some thoughts...
1. Unless I forgot how a freshly rebooted phone feels, it feels no different
2. I did have a few random reboot type actions but the counter never reset. Not sure what it was about
3. Browser loves to crash or just lock up which I then had to force close and restart it. I blame this on an online game I play that is not optimized very well as I have to restart chrome on my work computer after a time as it eats all the memory.
Other then that, phone works perfectly
Over the last few days, I've noticed my phone spontaneously restarting itself. It's happened at least 3 times since Friday, but those are the occasions it happened to be in eyeshot/earshot when it happened, so who knows how many times it's actually occurred.
I notice it also shows my up and awake time as being identical a little over 2 hours (which is how long it's been since the last random restart). It's been a bit laggier than usual, too. Not sure if either of those things are relevant or not, but thought I'd point them out.
Just starting to play around with the new X. I tried the car dock on my first trip with nav without having the charging cable plugged in. Nav seemed to stay on the turn-by-turn screen just fine, except that the screen kept timing out (as expected running on battery). Today I also plugged in a charging cable. Nav started out working fine, but then several times during my trip the X inexplicably switched away from the turn-by-turn screen to the directions screen (or to the "maps" top-down screen). I didn't see anything in the options, and can't imagine why the thing would be switching. Also, I just updated to the latest Google Maps application (last night, between the two nav tests), so maybe that had something to do with it....
View 46 Replies View RelatedMy home screens are jumping all over the place spontaneously almost like a ghost is moving them! And then the screen locks up and I have to pull the battery. This just started yesterday out of the blue. I have not installed or uninstalled new apps this week. Pretty much cannot use phone because this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHaving a problem with my Screen Timeout setting. Every so often (at least once a day) the Screen Timeout setting will change so that it's not set to anything (no bubble filled) and screen will not turn off spontaneously. It, in fact, seems to turn the screen on when this happens. I find the screen on when I had physically turned it off. This is wreaking havoc with my battery life.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTitle says it all. And the battery was fully charged.
View 3 Replies View Relatedleft my phone on my car charger after I got home for about an hour, when I took it off it was burning hot.. looked in system app (thank you OTD) and it said my temperature was 110 degrees farenheit. I'm not familiar with the normal operation temperature so I don't know if this is off the charts or just above normal.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThree times now I have had to re-establish my email accounts on this phone, any clue as to why they would spontaneously disappear?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIve been stalking the forums for a few weeks, reading up on all the issues and things associated with this phone and i can say ive experienced most of them (excluding rooting issues, i havent rooted).
*(of course) gps issues
*phone spontaneously shuts off and battery has to be removed before it will turn back on
*randomly awakes itself from sleep just to display the lock screen
*painfully short battery life
*no signal for a long time, have to restart phone several times before it returns.
These have all plagued me horribly the past month or so. then today it decided it wanted to....::gasp:: behave?
My battery still had half its life left when i got home tonight and its usually dead or yelping for a charge by that time (activity/usage the same today too). pages loaded quickly today and i had a signal all day.
Hi, I have a pretty ordinary g1. Htc dream, unlocked (ATT is my provider). Well, I installed cyanogenmod a few weeks ago and it worked out great. I also did the 10 MB RAM hack.
Then I got greedy. I thought I'd partition the sd card and cyanogenmod would start installing apps to the sd card. This turned out to be a disaster. Probably I didn't do it right.
Everything was fine for a few days, seemed faster, etc., until I installed a new app. It was the first app installation since partitioning. Suddenly, there were problems with ALL my apps. I then thought, well uninstall app x that you just installed, but alas, I couldn't, as it wasn't listed as installed.
The phone would even spontaneously shut down from opening an app. In short, the phone became very scary and very unusable. After spontaneously shutting down, it would reboot into a frozen state, etc.
So I reformmated the sdcard, and redid cyanogenmod. I thought that this would simply undo the partitioning that I'd done, and I'd be back to where I was with a pretty good g1.
Well, cyanogenmod went okay, but there were still lots of problems. So I did a factory reset, and cyanogenmod again. This was slightly better, but it's still touch and go with my g1 now.
Home process needs force close, reddit is fun will sometimes not work. Sipdroid, even Android market, when I click it, does nothing. Sometimes when I plug the phone in with a USB cable, I mount it from the phone and it will suddenly unmount itself. Wont stay mounted.
Each of these problems will go away with rebooting, but now I've rebooted my phone maybe 30 times in the past two days. Not to mention uninstalling, reinstalling apps and rekeying in usernames and passwords, etc.
Phone was not plugged into a charger and it just randomly reset on it's own. I was playing a game and from the corner of my eye I seen the Motorola logo so it was turning back on.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Eris rebooted randomly. I have no phone signal and cannot make calls. When ever I hit the 'Phone' button, I get a message that says "The process android.process, acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". Any clues? I have not updated it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI registered with QIK and began using my Evo with it. Suddenly I had issues opening the application. Rebooted etc. Still no change, couldn't open QIK at all.
When into Apps and deleted all files, accounts etc. My think was I'd just re-register. Well it says "Name, phone #, email already in use"
New user name, no problem.
Different email address, no problem
Different phone number, what to do ?
No issues with anything else with this phone, batter etc.
Did anyone's phone reboot this morning just while it was sitting there? I looked over around 7am CST and the phone was shutting down and rebooted. The version 2.01 is the same, but wondering if something was pushed out overnight or this morning. I can't find anything that changed (app-wise) so just wondering if it was a fluke or if something did change.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is really annoying and concerning. Anyone having this problem and not using a task killer? Obviously phone on / off fixes, but worried about missing call.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was talking on the phone, and another call came in (call waiting). Suddenly, my phone just restarted itself. Fortunately the reboot time is very fast, but of all the bugs to possibly run into on any cell phone, the scariest is the idea of dropping calls. I am convinced this may be a software glitch that will get fixed with an update.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWas getting ready to install the edited build.prop. I had renamed the old one to build.prop.bak, and somehow managed to restart the phone without putting a new one in. The phone stays at the M screen, and I can get into the standard recovery. Is there anyway I can push a new build.prop file through standard recovery? The only thing I have tried to do is reapply the 2.2 update.zip I was running, which didn't work due to signature verification failure.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's "booting up" even though I haven't even touched it. Seem's like it rebooted itself. Then once it's up I get no Cell signal at all. Wifi worked but no Cell Signal. As a test I tried making a call to confirm and it says something like "Phone not registered" I now reboot the phone myself, and it's ok now.
View 2 Replies View Related.I have big problem with my LG Optimus Net p690.Today I rooted the phone and then install CyanogenMod 7.2. When I wanted to set my minimum CPU frequency to 250MHz the phone rebooted and since then l ran out of service. I reinstalled the original software but nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was one of the first in Nashville to receive my phone after preordering at bestbuy. Got it Friday morning and spent all day Friday and most of Saturday playing around with it. Saturday night i was fiddling with the front facing camera to see what sort of photos it took, and i hit the shutter button and then it happened!
Literally - a flash of smoke and a spark with this unforgettable sound of cracking glass. Some sort of short has caused my main speaker (the earpiece) to completely fail, the front facing camera no longer works, and there is a diagonal crack from the Sprint logo at the top right down about 1/3 of the way down the screen on the left side.
Called Best Buy, and they're going to replace it, as soon as they get more in. Oh well. Everything else works, so i'll be using a lot of speakerphone until the replacements arrive.
I am trying to install a rom (Liquid Frozen Yogurt) onto my Motorola Droid. I rebooted, came back and there is a strange symbol on the screen. It is a triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle, and it is standing upright staring down at my phone laying flat. I'm not sure if it's working away, or if this is some problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm on the stock rooted frg22d rom because of complications earlier and for some reason my phone randomly rebooted. I though nothing of it. But now when I rebooted. I only have 2 apps for some reason, Paper toss and Redbox Codes FWIW. So I tried to load a nandroid and I can't get into recovery. It just stays on the M and if I let it sit there then it would get into a bootloop on a stock non-overclocked rom. So yeah. Oh and my sister took administrator from my account so I can't use RSD Lite to non root and root again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to the galaxy app on my behold 2. Once I rebooted the phone it stays stuck on a "samsung" logo that glow, but nothing else. I tried removing the battery and restarting, but it still stays stuck on the SAMSUNG logo..

View 8 Replies View RelatedWell I finally screwed around with my phone untill I messed it up. I rooted yesterday with Visionary. No problem then deodexed no problem. Well I have evidently rebooted and wiped the usr data and done a factory reset. However it says I'm still rooted. It seems like I'm half rooted. How do I get this baby back to fully rooted.

If not could someone make me one from a picture or explain how to reduce the pic to a sice for the Icon? Currently I downloaded the Windows 7 icon pack from the market and i'm using the default cell phone icon which looks like an old canybar Nokia.
