I've rooted my Incredible with Unrevoked 3 and I have successfully used Unrevoked Forever to set S=OFF.now, I am trying to update to Froyo, but I am confused as crap. Can I use the official OTA update and do it manually? Or do I need a different ROM to update manually with.I've searched here and there everywhere and I haven't gotten a firm answer or I can't find anything at all.

I received my Froyo update today and it is wreaking havoc on the apps I use most. ESPN radio and MLB atbat. The streaming audio is very choppy. I did not back up and my phone is not rooted. Can I undo this update?

I apologize for this double posting but it was suggested that my post to troubleshooting forum was perhaps more appropriate here. Posted Today, 08:16 PM My Kingston 16G class 10 sd card actually physically cracked and is therefore defunct but Kingston will be replacing it within the week - I foolishly do not have it backed up on my PC. I had rooted my Incredible with Unprovoked 3 and had been experimenting with a couple of Froyo ROMs using ROM Manager: Cyanogen6RG3 and Skyrider 2.5. I had just updated my Clockwork Mod Recovery (and to truly screw things up ) I had made full use of Apps2sd. Now, when I put my old SanDisk 2G sd back in, (all I had was 1 old nandroid backup on it) I am back to: Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. Fortunately appbrain has a record of all my apps. - but, from what I understand, there's no way to install the Market, except via HTC/Google/Verizon. So, I probably won't have my new 16G card for almost a week and I'm very open to suggestions as to my best plan of attack. I guess I should also think about repartitioning the new sd - according to the recent lag fixes. Please know that, for the time being, I'm pretty much command line challenged - so (perhaps foolishly) - I am doing all of this on the phone itself. I recently downloaded SDK to my PC and I was just getting ready to try to get the hang of adb, emulator etc - but I'm hoping I can get my phone back to where it was before I get into that project.

Question:
Today I rooted my DInc with Unrevoked Forever, then I Flashed the 8/1 Froyo Leak but I did not flash the Radio.
My Software Info is:
Android 2.2
BaseBand - 1.00.03.04.06
Kernel - 2.6.32.15 - g5e1ad8b htc-kernel@and 18-2 #1
PRI Version - 1.28.002
So far the phone works I have Market 2.2 etc, but I tested Hulu and found out that my "handset" doesn't work with this format. I'm not sure how to check for Flash 10.1 but some video worked on the Adobe flash player site.

so I took the leap the same night the froyo leak was out. I was on rooted 2.1 and followed the steps of intalling the ota and then re-rooted and installed the leaked froyo.I tried most of the fixes, but would rather wait for the "real" Froyo OTA. My question is simple, do I have to remove the effects of the OTA (downgrade the hboot) before I re-flash to a stock 2.1 or will the 2.1 reflash take care of that?

I still have some apps and my phone and wifi seem to be working fine.I don't have Market, Rom Manager, Titanium (but I DO have SuperUser). When I USB my phone to PC - the PC doesn't see either the phone pr the card although I haven't reinstalled HTC Sync). At this point, I don't really even know if I'm rooted or have busybox.I'm really puzzled as to what I should do next:I don't know whether to do a phone restore from Settings or, perhaps from Recovery? Or whether to find a RUU (Is there one with the updated radio or with Froyo? Or, I guess I could wait for the OTA - but that's a wimped out way out and it might not even work at this point. Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. okay, this is really frustrating. i got my 2.2 today, and then i did a factory reset. everything is great except i can't seem to get my keyboard to change to swype. i have it installed, and i select it as my keyboard, but i cannot get it to come up. i have the official beta, and i also have a modified version with microphone, and i've tried both, neither is being recognized. does anyone know how to get my phone to use the swype keyboard when i have selected the damn thing? is there an additional setting i have to find? it's not app specific, either, i've checked several things, handcent, internet, mail, whatever. stock keyboard is all i get.

I love this phone and I just kinda wish I can get default android 2.1 on this device. The areas where scene and normal android collide is really annoying.

Is the Charger for the Incredible the regular micro-usb? I have several chargers and a few car chargers (iGo) that I'm hoping I can still use. I noticed it has a little bit of a different look and was wondering of those would still work.

I tried to search to see if this was a known bug but didn't find an answer - so if someone has had this issue - I would appreciate their advice.
I tend to alternate b/w using Live wallpapers and regular ones. There's been no problems switching to a Live wallpaper but when I try to change the wallpaper to a regular one it reverts back to the default wallpaper. However if I do a reboot after that it will display the last wallpaper I attempted to change to before the reboot.

After dealing with short battery life like many of you, sometimes only getting 4 hours after a full nights charging and the phone just sitting on my desk,i figured out how to make it go the full day, even with regular use of web and email/sms. For me, it was simply reducing the frequency of syncs between all the various social networks I'm part of. My setting used to be every hour for Facebook, Twitter, and the worst culprit, Flickr. i would notice the phone constantly getting warm to the touch even if it just laid on the desk. Since changing the frequency to manual refresh, my battery is still well over 60% by nights end. YMMV.

ever since I switched from Sense to Launcherpro, the main mail icon (not gmail, the one I use for MS exchange) no longer shows me how many unread messages are there. Was that feature something that Sense did that I've lost w/ LP?

I rooted my Incredible a few weeks ago (thanks to everyone here) and I want to know how I should be handling regular backups. At the time of the root I did a Nandroid backup and then a Titanium backup. I then copied the contents of my SD card over to my PC for safe-keeping. Should I continue to do regular Nandroid + Titanium backups? Or, should I just do Titanium?

I rooted my phone with 2.1-update, with upgraded baseband, a 1.0ghz kernel, and a bugless beast V1.1 theme. Can I just download a 2.2 froyo rom directly and then be fine? or do I have to do other things when upgrading from 2.1 to froyo?

I've uploaded a pre-rooted version of HTC's latest ROM. This is basically stock with root, except I've disabled the annoying boot sound. It includes radio 5.09.05.30_2.To install you must be rooted with custom recovery. A full wipe shouldn't be necessary if you're currently on an official rom, since this isn't modified from stock. Do a nandroid backup before you install. There's no changelog from 2.09.405.8, but I've noticed my GPS problems went away.

I have a unbranded HTC Desire. I'm still on 2.1 which I rooted 3 months ago. I'm wondering on updating to froyo and keep root. I'm not interested in any custom rom's, I like stock one. The only thing I rooted at first is to install my app's on SD instead of internal memory. My device specs are:
Os: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11
Sw: 1.15.405.4
HBOOT: 0.75.0000

Received the upgrade from Telstra Australia today for my Desire. I'm not very good with the tech and software side of things (quite a dunce really) and have looked for a guide as to what to do prior to installing the update and also once completed. Is anyone able to steer me in the right direction as to where a good guide is or maybe a few pointers. My phone isn't rooted and is not something I want to gamble with being not techsavvy.

I am currently rooted with 2.1 and have cyanogenmod installed. What is the most painless way to upgrade to 2.2? Should I install it manually and just boot my phone to 2.2? Also, if I do that will i loose all my text, apps, etc.
