Swype was killed and it will not reinstall even though I was in the beta. For some reason, it won't accept my password even though I know for sure it's right and confirmed it on the swype beta page. If anyone has any advice for me to reswype.

View 2 Replies View RelatedPersonally, I like City ID. I like knowing where unknown numbers are calling from. BUT the current ROM I installed has it removed. Does anyone have the apk file so I can reinstall it? I am running the new 2.2 leak.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been using swype fort a few days and I love it but it sort of stopped working today. it will still input text but it doesn't display it on the screen until I back out of the message... should I just reinstall it or are other people having the same issue?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay loosing my mind here. I used the run and upgraded to 2.2 and of course in the process lost my swipe. So, I resent myself the email and tried to teinstall. I am getting an error that says I am not using the same device registered at beta.swipe.com. I have tried all the suggestions on their faq page ( closing programs, deleting and downloading, etc.) To no avail. Anyone got any Ideas? I can't type on this thing anymore without it!

Well I was messing with uninstalling some apps with Titanium Backup and didn't realize the importance of Friend Stream. How can I reinstall Friend Stream the easiest way?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't have LED light or anything like it installed. Running stock 3.29 unrevoked, no other custom kernels/ROMs.Camera half the time doesn't start. If I clear the camera cache/data, it'll sometimes run but all the colors are wacky. Like whites show up as bright pinks and greens. I've tried manipulating the white balance, hue, etc.. with absolutely no change. Same effect with camcorder or a 3rd party camera app like zoomFx.Do I need to reinstall the camera.apk?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my X10 for coming to 3 weeks now. Absolutely love it and all...... but there are some issues.
Most recently, I mean 2 days ago, I attempt to take a picture and I get a message "camera unavailable" and I can't access anything.
I checked the version, and my phone has Camera v1 and v4 installed (from the update).
I'd really love to try and get this dealt with sicne the camera is pretty good on it
Does anyone know how to reinstall the camera?
So I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

Ive noticed that some people like myself are not happy with video quality on the htc incredible. I've also noticed that some people are having no problems with their video quality. Compared to the moto droid its video difference is the difference between choppy pixilated standard def and hd video. I realize neither phone displays hd but just using that to help compare what im seeing in comparison. Youtube videos are better if you hit menu and select high quality...but even then the moto droids video is still much better. So question.. since some people seem to be experiencing poor vid quality and others are not... this kind of sounds software related, is it possible to reinstall phone software or even just the flash lite software? Thinking this potentially could help.

View 49 Replies View RelatedHas anyone used/owned both phones and done a comparison as far as picture quality? I'm very curious about it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering what others have found to be the best camera app for the Incredible. I did a few searches in other areas of this forum and seems like overall consensus is Camera Zoom FX. The only issue I've read about it is that it has the possibility of not using certain cameras to their full potential (perhaps will be or already fixed in an update?) because the app was originally created with Android phones with inferior cameras (to the Incred/Nexus One, etc).
Update:
As far as camera apps go, I kind of answered my own question through testing and some tidbits from members here. I'm still open to any other findings though. Here is the update with some test photos for those who don't want to scroll down and read everything else:
As far as some quick test photos I've done.... here are some examples. Unfortunately they're all down-sized to 72DPI due to me uploading on Facebook, but the original resolution of the photos still shine through.
Raw camera shots:
Flamebroiler, where I go for many of my lunch breaks.
A night time shot of my friend with the default cam
My GF being Iron Man
Terrible Chuck toy before his Ice Man days...
Now here are comparisons and what I was talking about Vignette's filters vs some of the lower res ones.
Here is a Vignette photo of my friend using a Porta filter. I like Vignette because the filters are not overly done and kitsch
Here is one of my friend using FX Camera - just in general, you can notice much lower resolution.. even on the border of the effects. It's not just the filter, pretty much every photo came out kind of like this... which is fine for just phone viewing, but not so much on the computer:
Even at pitch black, using just the flash to take a pic of my GF, Vignette came out less pixelated (though there's still noticeable noise due to lack of light). I wish I had exact photos to make comparisons, but I tested all these shots casually every chance I got:
FXCamera however, does have these fun filters.. unfortunately, even with this pic of another friend, you can see the pixelization:
Camera Zoom FX had more of the filters that FX Camera has, but with higher resolution. However as mentioned before, I prefer the more subtle filters of Vignette, as well as the UI, navigation and within just 2 hours of testing... for whatever reason Camera Zoom FX crashed on me a few times.
Summary: I found that I myself took the best photos using the default camera, autofocus off, and turning the sharpness down because digital cameras tend to exaggerate small details+blemishes (especially at 8mp). I use Vignette if I feel like dressing up some photos I've taken (casually, quickly, and without the troubles of going into Photoshop) or just wanna take some quick snaps of imagery/people. Feel free to read further down into the thread for more details of findings within the time I've tested random settings/apps. My opinions on each changed over the course of playing around with my phone and will possibly change when I find out more things or new apps get released (perhaps one day Photoshop Mobile might actually be a worthy contender).
I took several shots of the same inanimate subject (Crayons) at different ISOs under "perfect" light conditions. I also took several shots of a different inanimate object (baby chew toy) under slightly less "perfect" light conditions (namelly I moved about 6 feet deeper into my house). All 100% crops. No retouching of any kind. The shots can be found here:
HTC Incredible Shot Comparison - Imgur
regretfully imgur removed the file names. But to give you an idea, the shots taken of crayons taken @ ISO 100, 200 and even 800 were nothing to write home about, but photographically acceptable. Noise is visible at all ISOs and @ ISO1250 things fall apart at the 100% scale (chromatic aberration, destructive noise, etc.). The chew toy shots were very telling. Light conditions were good and yet the camera had a hell of a time focusing. Took me several tries to get an acceptably in-focus shot at each ISO. And then I tried photographing my kids. In short, the came failed miserably, in every setting, to get a decent picture: this due to the fact that shutter speed cannot be changed (but this is a HUGE, drawback as it this pretty much puts taking pictures of moving subjects out of the question). Even though children portraiture is a challenge even with pro equipment, my piss-poor point-and-shoot can get a few remarkable pictures of the kids (posing) and yet the Incredible built-in camera could not get a correct focus reading to save its life.
IVMHO, it's a nice add-on camera but with severe photographic drawbacks when photographing moving objects (or even inanimate objects under less than perfect conditions).
I'm here here and got my HTC Incredible last night (I'll refrain from making any incredible jokes, though it's far too easy given the amazingness of this phone). I've hit one small bug though, the camera will temporarily freeze when I take a picture and none of the menu options will pop up. It's only happened a few times, I was just wondering if anyone else has hit this same snag? Anyway I'm glad to be on here and hope I can learn a thing or two from you guys about this phone. I converted from an LG Dare and finally decided it was time for a real phone.

I just watched this video on BGR of the Droid X camera and I was wondering about the Camera App; there's some really cool features. I'm not looking for 720p just yet hopefully that will come to our Incredibles soon. But I would like the Panoramic, Steady Shot and Multi-Shot functions.
Do you think this we could replace our camera.apk with this one?
I know that the camera is good as is, however, I was wondering if anyone played with camera setting to come up with the best settings as most of the stock settings set at neutral.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe camera flash on the Incredible is killing me, it basically blurs out everything in the picture, especially a face! Anything white in the picture will have not detail or definition when you use the flash to take a picture.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI love my HTC Incredible, but I've compared my Incredible to my friend's Incredible. The camera quality is TOTALLY different. We set both phones on the same setting. His picture is crisp and can take detail quality picture without any flickering or noise problem, but mine totally craps out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone think the reason is because HTC expects many people to get an extended battery with the larger back case? One that will probably extend enough so that the camera sits flush and is better protected?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy camera lens is kind of broken. Well, technically it's not broken. If I push the lens with my thumb, it makes "tick" sound and I can see the gap between actual lens and cover. It shouldn't make a gap, isn't it?
