Nexus :: Deleted Facebook APK - How To Reinstall?
Nov 3, 2010I was trying to update my facebook app in the market but it wouldn't update. So I thought it was my custom ROM. I backed up the APK in titanium backup and uninstalled it. I then went back to market, but facebook still won't install. And titanium didn't backup facebook.apk properly. Now I don't have a facebook app.

Aug 27, 2010Yesterday I did an update check on my HTC Hero, even though I already had 2.1 eclair on it, it noted there was a new update available, but being impatient I didn't read what update it was, and just downloaded and updated.
In software info it says:
Firmware: 2.1-update1

Software number: 3.32.405.2
When the update was complete, it deleted ALL my factory widgets. Not just off the home-screen, but completely off the OS. I cannot add them. The ones missing of the top of my head are Clock/Weather widget. The stand-alone weather widget. The twitter widget. The email widget. The notes widget. The bookmark widget. Friends widget.... Probably more that I can't think of. These are completely gone from the phone, I cannot re-add them.
Has anyone else had this problem? Seems very unusual... The OS has suddenly become quite buggy too... Voice to text isn't working at all, alot of the applications are force-shutting down. Is this perhaps a buggy release?
Might be worth noting I've had absolutely no issues with any previous software updates.
HTC Incredible :: Unable To Reinstall Swype
Sep 4, 2010Swype was killed and it will not reinstall even though I was in the beta. For some reason, it won't accept my password even though I know for sure it's right and confirmed it on the swype beta page. If anyone has any advice for me to reswype.

Aug 29, 2010Okay loosing my mind here. I used the run and upgraded to 2.2 and of course in the process lost my swipe. So, I resent myself the email and tried to teinstall. I am getting an error that says I am not using the same device registered at beta.swipe.com. I have tried all the suggestions on their faq page ( closing programs, deleting and downloading, etc.) To no avail. Anyone got any Ideas? I can't type on this thing anymore without it!

May 15, 2010Ive noticed that some people like myself are not happy with video quality on the htc incredible. I've also noticed that some people are having no problems with their video quality. Compared to the moto droid its video difference is the difference between choppy pixilated standard def and hd video. I realize neither phone displays hd but just using that to help compare what im seeing in comparison. Youtube videos are better if you hit menu and select high quality...but even then the moto droids video is still much better. So question.. since some people seem to be experiencing poor vid quality and others are not... this kind of sounds software related, is it possible to reinstall phone software or even just the flash lite software? Thinking this potentially could help.

Jun 2, 2010So here is whats going on. I downloaded Album Art Grabber from the market, and ran it, found all of my missing album art fine. It puts all the pictures into a folder called Albumthumbs. Now every time I restart my phone, the folder is still there but all of the art is gone. I have to run the app again which uses a lot of battery. One thing I've done, is make a back up of all the pictures, but after restart, I have to copy them from back up, to album thumbs.

May 7, 2010I just noticed for the past few days, my Incredible has been deleting my email off of my pop server account after I delete it (from Trash) out of the phone. Before you say anything, I have "Delete Email on Server" unchecked from the settings. So I checked it, shut off the phone, unchecked it and then sent a few test emails.
With it checked, it does delete my email after I delete it off of the phone - obviously. Unchecking it, sending test email and deleting it still deletes If off my POP Server. I am a little frustrated because I realized about 4 days of emails have been deleted, although I have copies of them on one computer. I know it didn't do this out of the box, only recently.
HTC Incredible :: Deleted Gmail Contacts
Aug 11, 2010I had too many contacts in my Gmail after importing from my Outlook address book. So, on my laptop, logged into Gmail (and the new WAY BETTER contacts section), I deleted about 900 contacts from the list. However, they seem to still be on my Dinc where I don't want to see them. Any thoughts on how to make sure the contacts in my Gmail account are the only ones that appear on my phone?

Jul 8, 2010I went into recovery and moved the VV.apk and other file to an app.disabled directory on my phone, the issue is that the icon is still in the apps section? Any reason you guys could think of as to why? Actually now that I click on it it for some reason takes me to MMS messages and the icon is just called voicemail. HTC Incredible :: Accidentally Deleted Stock FB Sync?
Nov 12, 2010I spent some time cleaning off stock HTC apps (Facebook.apk, HTC Facebook and Friend Stream included), but now all my contacts under People are no longer linked to any Facebook accounts. If I go to the Global tab, there is no option to refresh Facebook friends list. I've tried re-installing Facebook for Android, and I've also tried downloading the Facebook.apk and adding it back into /system/app. Really, all I want ot do is sync Facebook with my phone contacts to pull in pics and birthdays, I don't care about Friend Stream or HTC's stock FB app. Anyone know what to do?

May 19, 2010I had just sent an SMS and the phone goes black and said that HTC MMS has force closed. So I rebooted the phone go back into my messages and all of them are deleted. Oct 3, 2010Using Handcent for texts, but went into the Messages app and saw a bunch of "ghost" messages with a date of 12/31/69 (tap on the messages and they don't load). It turns out that when I receive a text it displays the correct date and time in both Handcent and Messages, but when I delete in in Handcent it goes into this "ghost" state in Messages. Has anybody else run into this?

Sep 16, 2010Last night, my HTC Incredible randomly locked up -- went totally black, wouldn't respond to anything. After a few tries, I was able to reboot, at which point the phone still seemed to be having trouble (plain black background, clock and weather cutting in and out). After another reboot or two, the phone began to function normally, but all of my contacts that were stored in the phone (as opposed to Google or FB for HTC sense contacts) were deleted. There were approximately 5 random contacts in my "People" section, all seemingly imported from Facebook. Pictures and text messages were still on the phone, but the text messages were only associated with the phone numbers, not with the names. Additionally, when I tried to make a phone call, I got a message that my phone was not authorized. After speaking with Verizon, my phone's calling capabilities were restored. I also used backup assistant to restore most of the contacts to my phone (though for some reason the last time they were backed up was approximately 2 years ago, so I have no numbers that I've gotten in the interim. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened to my phone, and whether there is any way to restore the contacts that I had before last night's crash? Also, is there any way to link all contacts with their Facebook profiles in one batch so that the pictures are matched up, or do I have to do this individually for each one using the "link" feature?
