View 5 Replies View RelatedWhere do people obtain or buy all the apps that are supposed to be out for these phones? I did some Google searches & more & am still a bit puzzled. Those of us past 30 and don't spend half our lives on line can get a little puzzled.
What are some good and reliable sources for apps? I can't see wanting more than a few as I view it as a phone & occasional internet tool. A few games, widgets and the like might be good, too.
I know this isn't really a new topic, but search came up empty and auto search as I posted this thread was not helpful. Nothing in 2 months, and nothing for Dinc.
So I'm looking to change some of the default behavior for lock/unlock. I've seen a few peoples lock screens on other threads but haven't quite figured out what they are using.
I'm coming from BB Pearl where I had to hit "* phone" to lock and unlock and it was quick and easy. I like the pattern recognition on the Dinc for the extra security but I probably don't need it, especially until my name and alternate phone number show up on the lock screen so someone can return it to me if they find it. Perhaps I'll but my business card inside the new silicone case?
Anyhow, anyone know of a good lock/unlock app that changes behavior or modifies the lock screen in a way they thought was much better than default?
Based on what I've been reading, leaving GPS on won't drain more battery. It's just merely allowing apps to use the GPS.That said, if you have GPS on and have apps that use GPS, you will drain more battery.I want to leave my GPS on for "Where's my Droid." My question is this: how do I make it so that apps (weather widget, etc.) only use network location and not GPS? Is there a way to block all apps except those I choose from using GPS ?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up Dropbox on my phone in order to automate some actions, but I'm having trouble with one step. Primarily, I'd like for Dropbox to be main download location for files from Dolphin, Steel, and Browser. I can't find an easy way to make this happen, and it would be awesome if I could get it to work out.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having difficulty downloading some paid apps. My credit card information should be correct because I just bought the paid version of ROM Manager. Then I realized that I can only download apps that have American currency. All others freeze in the authorization stage.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having problems downloading apps from the android market?I just get starting download but no progress.Any ideas?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI had an app on my Pre called Geostrings that did location-based reminders, and it was really handy. I see a few out on the Android market, anyone have one they use that they could recommend? Ideally it would work with the GPS off and just use cell towers for location if necessary, since I tend to leave my GPS off unless I need it to conserve battery, and may forget to turn it on when I have an alarm enabled. I tried "Location Alarm", but it may require the GPS, because I got no alarm with it at all, then later realized I had the GPS off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having an issue with the android market? I can download and update free apps with no problem, but I suddenly can't download paid apps. (And no my credit card did not get declined ).
I successfully purchase the app, I got the e-mail that the purchase went through, then it hangs at "authorizing purchase". Specifically, I'm having this issue right now with Vignette.
I noticed today that the "downloads" section within Market no longer shows any of the free apps that I downloaded-only the two apps that I paid for are shown. Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a way to bring this list back? A soft reset did not help.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe clock/weather widget seems to no longer know my current location. All it says is literally "Current location". Prior to the 2.2 upgrade and even for a while after the upgrade it used to show the actual city or town I was in. I've played around with the settings under Settings -> Location but nothing makes a difference.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDo you have to leave your GPS on all the time, thereby killing battery? Or does it triangulate using cell towers (which I presume uses less battery?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I download free apps it works just fine. But when I get paid apps, i get an e-mail thanking me for the purchase, but when I try to download, all i get is "authorizing purchase", it never downloads. I bought Shazam but it never downloaded, it's been a week now, and I went to places where I got 4G, I tried the Wi-fi, but nothing worked. I thought it was Shazam, so I bought a different, app like Shazam called SoundHound, but it still does the same problem. Is this a problem with my phone? should I go back to sprint and ask them about it? what's the best solution for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst up apologies if you already know this, I only just fixed it and wanted to spread the solution. All day today I have been unable to download any Android apps from the marketplace, it's been very annoying. It turns out the problem is to do with Google's new offer for UK users to change their googlemail.com email account to a gmail.com account. Once I changed over my HTC Desire was suddenly unable to download apps from the Android Marketplace, it would forever say downloading and make no progress. The issue is with the Talk application on the handset, it needs to sign in on your google email address and that is what authenticates you to download from the marketplace. Now your email is a gmail.com address (rather than googlemail.com) the 'Talk' application cannot login and so you cannot download anything. There is no option to tweak the settings for the Talk application on the handset, you are stuck with the settings you already entered when you first set up the phone. So either you A) remove your googlemail.com account from your phone then re-add the gmail address. The problem is removing your googlemail.com requires a full phone reset, this involves losing EVERYTHING on your phone and starting from scratch.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI currently have the motorola droid with Verizon, and will be moving out of the country soonish. I have decided I want to buy an unlocked milestone because where I'm going they use GSM. My question is this: are my purchases in the android store somehow linked to my phone, or linked to my phone number, or linked to my google account? When I switch android phones, will I be able to download my purchased apps on the new phone?

Are there any good alarm applications for the X10i?
Basically I use my phone as an alarm to get up for work. My old Nokia N96 I could set the alarm and then switch the phone off at night and the alarm would still go off on time. This does not seem to be the case with the X10i. It doesn't even go off when the phones in airplane mode which is poor. I just don't want to have to leave my phone on overnight in case it rings and i wake up.
Are there any good alarm apps that allows you to turn the phone off and the alarm would still ring at 6.30 for work?
