How thick are the silicon cases? I'm talking about the black & red ones. and does anyone have pictures of the case? I can't seem the post with the person who received the case.

If it does that might explain why battery has dramatically improved since i stopped using case 3 weeks ago.Its either that or I finished Angry Birds. Just thought I'd throw the proverbial cat amongst the pigeons.seriously - battery life much improved. Coincidence?

View 28 Replies View RelatedSome of us have had issues with the volume and power buttons being depressed by the case just fitting a bit too tight causing unwanted changes in volume or turning the phone off by accident. Some have simply cut out the button areas completely but I have found a better answer. Simply make two slits one above the case molded buttons and one below. This allows for the phones buttons to slightly push away the case molded buttons for a perfect fit. See pictures below. The case buttons still work fine.

I'm asking because the case is kind of tight and I'm worried it will press hard against the screen and in turn create big bubbles in the corner. Happened with my Rubber casemate case on my Nexus One.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am very interested in the new clip/holster case combo for the droid but i also use the car mount unit daily. I was wondering if the case will still work with the dash mount or will i have to remove the case every time...
This is a deal breaker for me and im sure lots of people will use the navigation with the dash mount but this will stop lots of sales of the clip/case combo. hopefully seideo or someone will think of this and make a case that will work for both belt clip and dash mount. Looks like the protection film guys will get lots of business from this.
Having just moved to an Android 2.1u1 HTC Desire from an Android 1.5 HTC Hero, I've noticed that there a weird behaviour from TabWidget in that it shows a thick white line under the tabs instead of what I think it should do. These screenshots are from the Google provided API demos so I don't think it's my code, but I wanted to paste here before filing a bug. Anyone got any ideas?

As I understand it, the Nexus One gets any Android updates quickly because they come straight from Google and the Nexus is a vanilla install.
The Desire uses Sense though so we would have to wait for updates on that to be made compatible by HTC
Am I right so far?
So I guess my real question is how much of an issue is this? Do updates come thick and fast for Android with loads of cool new features, or is it once in a blue moon you may get something new? Do HTC generally keep Sense up to date with the latest release?
I started this thread because i think i'm amongst the majority here so maybe we can get some specific responses.Here's what i'm looking for
- Form Fitting so as not to add bulk, but thick enough to provide some protection in case it's dropped. Also thin enough so that it will fit in any desktop charger/cradle that comes out.
- No high ridges (Especially on front like on the Body Glove) so that it doesnt block access to Optical Joystick, Volume Rocker, Power Button and USB Port.
- One piece - So if/when it's dropped the phone doesnt explode into a yard sale and it stays protected.
- Protection for Camera (Flush)
- Carry over styling on stock back cover (doesnt matter to me but may to some)
- Material - enough grip so that it wont slip out of your hand or off your shoulder but not too much so that you can't get it out/into your jeans.
- Color selection (but black is fine)
I'm 24 hrs in, haven't dropped the phone yet, and I am NOT using "protection" .
I'm curious to hear if any of you new Incredible owners have dropped your phone yet (unprotected/without a case)!
I'm not all that interested in any of the cases that are available so far and would like to wait until something better comes along.
In the meantime, I'm curious to hear how this thing holds up to drops. Scuffs? Dings? Scratches? Explosions?
On a side note, I did absent mindedly drop my phone into the same pocket as my keys for no more than 90 seconds. When I pulled it out there were 3 or 4 tiny scratches on the top-left corner....luckily they are barely noticeable....whew, I'm an idiot!
Side note: I did promptly purchase a screen protector after that, but am still holding out for some better cases or to hear how these things hold up to some light, accident prone abuse.
I did see that someone already has a thread going referencing their phone dropping, however, this phone was protected....I am interested in hearing from those of you thrill seekers (like me) that don't use protection!
I had a Seidio spring holster for my Palm Pre and loved it. I'm going to look for a case plus a holster for my Incredible. I would like something that isn't slippery and preferably one piece, so when I drop it things don't go flying. I use my phone as my music player at the gym, so access to the headphone port is very important to me.

I feel like I'm always struggling to find the perfect phone case and rarely do. But this one is truly ideal to me. What I like:Securely clips on my belt. Easy to remove from holster, but virtually impossible to fall out accidentally. Always-on shell protects phone when not holstered When holstered, the screen faces inward - no risk of bumping into something and scratching it Allows access to all buttons and connections Extremely comfortable to hold Rubbery shell makes dropping the phone less likely If there is anything I don't like, it might be that the texture on the case doesn't look the most professional, and I work in a white-collar environment. But it certainly looks better than a texture-less design would.

I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
I was wondering how would I go about drawing an ached line on a canvas. If I were to continue this line it would make a perfect circle. I've got pie wedges which is close but I just want the outside of the wedge and it needs to be circular.

View 7 Replies View RelatedGot my DInc yesterday, ordered in store 5/14, shipped 5/28, arrived 6/1 (thank you, holiday weekend.) Charged it to 100% and started exploring. Went to bed last night with the battery around 40%, left it ON intentionally to run down, was at 14% when I got up, now down to 5%. Will let it die then charge while turned off. Overall I am impressed. Love the feel of the phone (except the plastic back doesn't seem to be very durable.) It's VERY fast (I came from a Razr2 V9m) and the apps are great. Went crazy trying to set up Yahoo! Mail until I realized I needed to TURN OFF WIFI so it would authenticate. Soon as I did that, I was good to go. Used a few Twitter apps, love Hootsuite (I use that on the web) but it's unstable, so I'm using Twitter for Android and am happy with that. Have not used Friendstream yet. Created a Google Account just for my contacts, cleaned them up and had them ready when I activated the phone, everything came in clean. Call quality is excellent even with 1-2 bars, speaker sounds great. Controls are well placed. Overall it's clearly the best phone I've ever owned. Still have a lot to learn. Wish I'd had it over the weekend, I'd be a pro by now. :/
Boxwave screen protector: great item (got the non-glare one). Didn't know I needed a Clean Room to install it. Literally went from the factory plastic to the Boxwave and still managed to get dust underneath. Removed & cleaned it per the instructions, reinstalled, and now have EVEN MORE dust bubbles. I'll try again. The protector itself is awesome, love the matte finish it gives the phone, no fingerprints. Just a royal PITA to install (I guess they all are.) Using the black rubberish VZW combo holster/case. The holster is okay but as others have reported the phone doesn't snap in very securely. Anyone with an active lifestyle had better keep it vertical or it's probably gonna slide out. The case has a really nice feel and offers some but not complete protection (exposed top & bottom edges), but it's fine for me for now. Pretty sure I'm going to get a Seido Innocase and see how it fits with the VZW holster, or, just bite the damn bullet and get the Seido holster as well. That is, unless Accessory One gets their act together and eventually sends me the CORRECT leather pouch I ordered. :/ At that point, I might have to go commando (just a screen protector) but we'll see. I do like how the VZW case makes it so the camera lens isn't touching anything when you lay the phone on its back. Decisions, decisions....................
after getting the 2.2 ota, whenever i plug my phone in to my computer it will have the popup say there is software available to use, do you want to install it? and at the same time brings my web browser to a verizon website. i don't see any option for disabling this. is there something i'm missing?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is related to rooting my phone, I don't think it is, but since my phone is rooted and there's a chance that it is related I figured I'd ask here. I recently downloaded the SwitchPro widget and one of the toggles is a 2G/3G button. I was exploring each switch and this one didn't seem to do anything except disable the mobile non-wifi internet. However since then it's not been working properly at all.This is effecting me if I am without Wifi, so I start by disabling Wifi. If I go to Settings > Wireless & networks, Mobile network is checked and says "Use phone for data connection when Wi-Fi is unavailable." But mobile internet doesn't work (only calls and SMS come through). If I go to Internet and launch a page, I immediately get an error that the network is unavailable with an option to click Settings or Cancel. If I click Settings, the Mobile network checkbox is grayed out and then after a few seconds it says Connected. After a few minutes of being idle, this happens again. If I go back to the Wireless & networks listing, it says "Use phone for data connection when Wi-Fi is unavailable" and the box is checked. If I uncheck and recheck is says "Connected."Clearly this widget borked my Mobile network settings, presumably because it's meant for GSM. How can I restore these settings to what they should be without completely restoring my phone from scratch?

View 36 Replies View RelatedGot my DINC, 2 of em from a Diamond partner booth in the mall. So many problems, and there was so much we are still discovering. Because it seemed to be lack of full disclosure, can we get out of the contract legally?
The issues have been:
- Didn't notify us about cancellation fee of previous line (we knew but he mad eit sound like he found a way around it - nope)
- Didn't cancel a line so we incurred a month and a half of charges on it
- Employee discount we were counting on was ineligible on unlimited plans and only applies to the primary account on a family plan (just found out today, 3 months later after wondering why the discount was so low) Do you think we have recourse to cancel our contract?
