I have had no problems sending mms on the EVO until tonight. I sent two picture MMS today no problem. However, tonight I am unable to get anything out. I've tried turning my wifi off, but i can't send either way. I just get the cycling circular "working" icon to the left of the message and nothing happens. It should be noted that the stock Messaging app still sends fine.

Anyone having problems sending MMS messages via handcent? This worked fine on my HERO, but doesn't work on my Evo. I can send MMS messages via the stock messaging app, but handcent just spins and never sends the message. Normal SMS messages work fine.

So I use Handcent, and it's awesome, but when it comes to taking a photo and then sending it via text, it won't send. It'll say the file size is too big and then I get the little red x to resend, but the same thing happens. When I open the stock text message app, take a photo, and send it the app resizes it automatically. What's the issue? How do I get Handcent to resize the photo automatically? I'm on a Droid2 if that makes a difference.

Is there any setting I may be missing with handcent.I checked the settings option and found nothing. It tells me it is resizing and everything, and it has worked in the past. I'd really prefer to use handcent, but will switch to the other if need be I guess.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm going to post this here first as this may be Galaxy S specific. I have handcent installed and love it. It's been working great. However tonight when I went to test out sending a picture to my girlfriends phone she received two copies of it. It shows up on my screen as me sending one, but on hers as if i did it twice in a row. What I suspect is that Handcent is sending one and the default messaging app is sending the other. When I open up either of them they both show the thread and show 1 picture sent. I've looked through all the menus in both apps and can't figure out what the problem is.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI've been using Handcent since I've had my Desire, but since the last few updates it seems to have developed a fault when sending the same sms message to multiple contacts. If I send a message to say 3 people, it either force closes, or comes up with the error message not sent. If it comes up with the latter, the messages are queued & sent 1 after the other. I was able to do this no problem before, so has anyone else experienced this in Handcent?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI get a poor signal at home (did on my Nokia), so half the time when I send a text, there won't be a signal to send it. I always then go and put my phone in a place where there is a signal and leave it..
With my Nokias, the phone would send it fairly quickly (usually within 10-15 minutes).
The message is still sat in Handcent with the whirling round icon next to it. If I copy the message, and resend it, whilst there's a signal, away it goes. I can't find any way to force the send when I want, and I left the resend in a signal area for 1hr 15 mins and it still hadn't sent..

But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks.Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.

1. He is on my Facebook contact. (His facebook pic appears in my Desire contact list)
2. He is my Gmail contact as well.
3. He is added as a 'Phone Contact' as well.
I sent him a text few days ago but don't remember if it was using facebook or my phone (network provider sms) but now when I go in to 'Messages' and send him a message, I just can't figure out if I am sending him a message via Facebook or to his mobile number.
I've just downloaded the app to the HTC Hero. It works well, the only issue I have is that when it notifies me of a message it shows the number I have on the screen and when I go in and read the message then delete and close the program, it still shows the same number when it shouldn't have any number since I deleted my messages. Is this a problem with the Hero or some type of bug in the program?

View 7 Replies View RelatedFirst let me say that the Handcent SMS application is a much better messaging app than the stock app that comes with the EVO. However, the app is a battery hog and was draining my battery at a rate of almost 8 % per hour. Reason I know this is because prior to installing this app, my battery life was great. After installing the app, battery drain was really bad. Decided to uninstall the app yesterday and back to about 2% drain per hour which is what I had prior to installing the app. So for those of you with poor battery life, pay attention to what apps you may have recently installed as some of them are not optimized for battery consumption.
View 23 Replies View RelatedI picked up my Droid on 6/5 and downloaded the latest Handcent that evening.Handcent is what the stock Messaging app should have been.However, I've noticed some problems with Handcent, and I'm very interested in another app.For one, it will intermittently split the messages when it shouldn't.In other words, it will take a message that is under 160 characters and send it out in two or three different messages. Not good.Two, I opened up the thread between my wife and I.I went to Batch mode so I could select which messages in the thread to be deleted. After selecting most of them, I then hit Delete selected. Every single message on the phone was deleted. I even went into the stock Messaging app and sure enough, they were all gone. Terrible.So,what else is out there besides Handcent? I'm completely fine with having to pay for the app, as long as it isn't buggy and it has the features of Handcent.

My question is how do I set handcent as my default sms receiver and get rid of the original from my homescreen? I have a shortcut on my homescreen which still shows that i have messages even though I've read them in handcent, and I don't know how to get rid of the original app from there.

Is this a Sprint issue, or a handcent one? I'd like to fix it, but I really don't want to go back to the stock Android Messaging app...
Handcent SMS is arguably the best messaging app out there.But for the past few days it's been missing from Market. Hancent.com says it's because the Market isn't running right.
So after a few page visits, I found out that you can still download it without using market, and install it in some very easy steps.
1. Go to Market and download 'tattachapkinstaller'
2. Go to this link from your phone: http://www.handcent.com/hc_sms.apk and it will prompt you to download 'Handcent'. Click "Save".
3. Once it's downloaded, click on it and it will ask you to install it. Install it using the software you downloaded above (tatattchapkinstaller)

I downloaded a widget called APN OnOff to try to have a widget that turns off 3G when Im not using it, like the Mobile Toggle in Sense. But ever since I turned off APN I cant send MMS messages. So I want to know if the MMS is related to APN and if I can turn APN back on, because the APN OnOff toggle doesnt work.Oh im currently using Chomp, and its not Chomps fault because I cant send MMSs through Chomp or the default Messages app.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded Handcent and the settings that I want on it are not saving. For example I want vibrate only when phone is in vibrate mode. That is not working at all. I also disabled notifications in the notification bar and I'm still getting them. Don't know if being on a custom rom (omj) would affect any of this. Pretty annoying though and was wanting to know if anyone else is having this sort of problem. I also rebooted the phone and no dice still.
