HTC Incredible :: Exchange Active Sync Calendar Events Not Synching With Google Calendar

Jun 15, 2010

I did a search but cant seem to find an answer. I finally got my work email set up through active sync. Is there a way to get the calendar events to show up on my google calendar? I use calendar pro which I love. I don't know if there is a work around or I am just not knowledgable enough to understand it. A for instance would be that my work email gives me an event or invite...it will show up on the phones calendar but not on my google calendar/events. (my google notification each morning may say "no events scheduled for the day" but phone calendar/calendar pro will show it)

HTC Incredible :: Calendar App And Events

Sep 6, 2010

On my HTC Incredible, since day 1 and after the updates (including Froyo) I am not able to see the names of events on my calendar in any of the calendar views except the "Today" view. All I see is the rectangle graphics depicting some event is taking place but inside the rectangle the event name is not displayed forcing me to open every event to what it is from the Calendar application. Therefore,I have to resort to using the Agenda widget to scroll through event names by date to get a quick overview. I haven't gotten my hands on someone else's Incredible to verify if this is just the way it is on this phone, but I would venture to guess not.I've used and seen plenty of Blackberry's and used to looking at weekly calendar views and all of the event names and their times/duration laid out graphically (with the event names in the rectangles).

HTC Incredible :: Calendar Bug / Creates Events Off By One Day

May 3, 2010

I want to let you know about a glitch with HTC's calendar that I have noticed and that HTC confirmed to me today on the telephone.Occasionally, when creating a calendar event, the calendar app will record the event as being one day later than the date selected by the user. Apparently, according to the HTC rep with whom I spoke, this issue is known and they are working on it.Clearly, it is a software glitch, but it is a particularly unhelpful one for those of use relying on accurate calendars

HTC Incredible : Way To Save Contacts / Calendar Events?

May 14, 2010

I have several hundred contacts and tons of calendar events on my Incredible. I have all of these on my gmail account which syncs with my INcredible. What is the best way to ensure that I never lose this information? I would imagine that it will always be on my gmail account??? If my phone were ever lost or stolen wouldn't it just be a matter of getting another phone and uploading from gmail to the phone? So, what is the best backup method out there for me? I am coming from a Palm Treo which I was able to sync with my desktop program.

HTC Incredible :: Time Zone Changes And Outlook Calendar Events

May 6, 2010

I have multiple events (ie birthdays) as all day events. That means that these are set up in Outlook 2007 from 12am to 12pm on selected day. Recently, I went from Central to Eastern time zone. While there, I synced my phone with outlook using HTC Sync and now I have an additional occurrence of the event that goes from 11am to 11pm and spans into the previous day. I thought this would fix itself once the phone was back in the right time zone and was resynced, but it doesn't.

I have tried experimenting with the length of the title and that makes no difference. Any thoughts?

HTC Incredible :: Sync Contact's Birthday's To Calendar

May 22, 2010

I've seen quite a few people wondering how to get the birthday's from their contacts (either google, facebook or both) into their calendars. Here is how to do it.

First, Facebook limits the way you can view their data (phone numbers, birthday's, etc.). They will allow you to view it, but not to scrape the data to transfer to another app (which is why there is no way to sync your google and facebook addressbooks). I remember a while back somebody wrote a facebook app that would sync with Plaxo and facebook shut down the users account within a day of him starting to use the program. Because of this limitation, you will need to add 2 calendars to get all your birthdays and if you have a birthday in both facebook and google, that birthday will appear twice. That being said, here is what you can do.

To add Birthdays from Google contacts to your Google Calendar.
1. Using a computer go to calendar.google.com
2. Top Right corner, click on settings/calendar settings.
3. Under Calendar settings click Calendars
4. By Other Calendars, click Browse Interesting Calendars
5. Under Interesting Calendars, select More
6. Subscribe to the Contacts' Birthdays and Events calendar.
7. Return to Calendar, your Contacts' Birthdays should now be appearing.
8. On your phone open the calendar app and go to menu/more/refresh
9. Go to menu/more/calendars and make sure the new CBE calendar is checked.
10. Back to Calendar. The birthdays should now be showing.
11. If they do not appear, try menu/refresh.
12. If they still do not appear go to menu/more/calendars/remove and remove the CBE calendar then menu/more/calendars/add and readd the CBE calendar (this is what I had to do).

*Google does not currently have a way to add reminders to this calendar. You can add a reminder to any individual birthday, one at a time, from your phone, but the reminders will not sync back to the web version of Gcal and will only work on the phone.

To add Birthdays from Facebook to your Google Calendar
1. Go to fbCal.com - Facebook Calendar Generator, and click Get your calendars now
2. In facebook click Allow/Allow/Allow
3. Under "Subscribe to Friends Birthdays" click the Google Calendar icon
4. In Google Calendar, Select Yes add this Calendar
5. In Google Calendar go to Settings/Calendars, double click the calendar with the really long complicated name, and rename to fbCal or something else you will remember, Save. Facebook birthdays should now be showing in Gcal.
6. In your phone calendar, menu/more/refresh
7. Menu/more/calendars/ and put a checkmark next to the fbCal calendar.
8. Menu/more/refresh
9. Everything should be working now.

*If you go back to the fbCal page in facebook, you can follow the same process to create a calendar for Facebook events. You CAN create regular Google notifications for both facebook calendars.

HTC Incredible : Link Contact's Address With Calendar?

May 6, 2010

Is there a way to somehow link a contact's address to a calendar event? For instance, if I have a meeting at Joe Bob's office, I'd like to be able to type in Joe Bob's name in the event location field on the calendar and have it insert the address for me, instead of having to switch to contacts, find Joe Bob, copy Joe Bob's address, switch back to calendar, and paste the address.

Android :: Seeing Combined Events From More Than One Calendar?

Jan 28, 2010

Does anyone know how to view events from more than one gmail calendar?Unfortunately, the Android Google apps (both gmail and calendar) DO NOT allow more than one account. What is up with that?? iPhone, Palm, and Blackberry all do this natively.Anyhow, I thought I was being clever by sharing my calendar between my personal gmail and my corporate gmail accounts. As a result, I can now see my work events on my personal calendar while in the browser. BUT.... from my Android, the shared events DO NOT appear! Why? Why? I downloaded a few other calendar apps from the Market but they all rely on the built in calendar... so none of them do any better. Is there a solution to this problem or is this another inherent Google fault?

HTC Hero :: Deleting Calendar Events

I know you can individually select and delete calendar events, but what about all those accumulating events that have come and gone and still reside in memory? There does not seem to be any easy way to "Delete Old Events" like most phones have.It seems that ancient events continue to stay in memory unless you individually, one-by-one, go through and painstakingly delete each one.
