HTC Incredible :: DROID Incredible Random Restart

I searched with no luck, but I know I saw another post on this yesterday.Received my DI yesterday (29th), while setting up Exchange the phone did a random reboot.Then later in the day I had 6 more and 2 more over night.This morning I had 7 in 10 minutes.Obviously this is a issue.Anyone else finding this problem? Any fixes?The DI is AWESOME! I have everything all set up on this one already and really don't want to have to exchange it, but most likely will if there is no fix.

I've had my Incredible since 4/28, and everything has been working smoothly up until about last Thursday night when it just restarted out of the blue while I was listening to music. Then right after it booted up, it restarted again, then again about seven more times. I got fed up and took out the SD card and it seemed to stop after that, so I haven't put the SD card back in since then.
Just now, Wednesday, about a week later, I was browsing around on the internet and all of a sudden, it restarted, and then again, and again, and again. I've read that it is because of poor signal strength or something like that so I had just enough time to put it in airplane mode before it restarted again.
Side note, that theory about it being caused by poor signal seems to make sense because the first time it happened to me I was out of town in a city that gets very bad coverage with Verizon, and now today when it started happening again was at my house where for some reason I get very bad service with the incredible, my old phone worked perfectly fine in my house but the incredible gets terrible service, and so does my brother's Droid. In fact, about two weeks ago I got my first dropped call on Verizon in about three years, and it was in my house.
So anyways, I decided to put it in airplane mode, and just after I put it in airplane mode it restarted again. Then when it booted back up my Helix Launcher 2 home screen went back to the standard Helix Launcher 2 icons, I go into my messages and everything is gone, my contacts are all gone, everything is gone. I go to the app menu and all my apps are still there, but when I start up an app, all the custom settings are default now. I went into the settings and my accounts are all still there. I click on internet and I get a terms of service agreement, it's as if I am booting it up for the first time, but for some reason my apps and accounts are all still there.
I turn airplane mode off thinking it might have something to do with it not being connected to my google account, and I restart it again and everything is still gone. I don't know what to do, has this happened to anyone before? I feel like there should be a way for me to get this stuff back since my apps are still there and my accounts are still synced, but random things are missing like my contacts and messages etc. This is really starting to get annoying, I have insurance and everything, but I really don't want to exchange it for another one because I've read that other people who have had there phones replaced have still had the same rebooting problem, even after going through multiple replacements.

When ever my phone freezes and the battery come out when I start it back up. The phone ends up sending 2 to 3 random previous messages to the last person I texted. This has happened several times has this happened to anyone else and is there a fix?

On my Incredible running 2.2 (OTA) w/ Launcher Pro+ While using the navigation.1 of 2 things happens.
1) After using the GPS for a while (any where from 15 - about 45mins) The phone just restarts out of no where, doesn't matter if I am holding it or not. It can be the first app I turn on, with no other apps running. And some times this restart goes into to a "looping" restart. It'll just keep poping up the white htc incredible screen, then go into the new red droid eye boot animation, go blank and then go into the white boot screen again. Until I do a battery pull it won't stop.
2) The navigation will be working all fine and then out of no where just exits, without the phone even being touched. Then I'll have to open up the navi. app again and select the most recent destination.I have never rooted the phone, and I am on the OTA 2.2 update.Just wondering if any one else has a had this problem or similar?I'm going to be doing a factory reset probably tomorrow.just a quick checklist Use app brain to save all apps that were previously on the phone Make sure all images are on the SD card All contacts saved to google account Launcher Plus homescreens saved to SD I guess thats about all the backing-up thats needed?

Need a restart app or even a way to restart without ideally pulling the battery. NOT HOW TO HARD RESET. PXshutxp was great for restarting from the today home screen. Only app I've seen needs root access.

I've just plugged it in every night to charge the battery. Is there any need to shutdown and restart the Incredible on a regular basis like you would for a computer? Just wondering if this would clear caches, speed it up, etc.

So here is whats going on. I downloaded Album Art Grabber from the market, and ran it, found all of my missing album art fine. It puts all the pictures into a folder called Albumthumbs. Now every time I restart my phone, the folder is still there but all of the art is gone. I have to run the app again which uses a lot of battery. One thing I've done, is make a back up of all the pictures, but after restart, I have to copy them from back up, to album thumbs.

Holy crap, My Incredible is on a repeating loop. It does not stop restarting at all. Taken out the battery, switched to different batteries, took out the SD card and nothing.Phone's not rooted, I can't this phone past boot. Any programs out there that could help?

I get about 4+ a day almost always when its just sitting on my desk, and usually not being charged.
I live in an area with only 1 bar reception from anywhere between -94 to -100.
I'm curious to see how many of you out there are experiencing the same problem.

Received the Incredible today. When I was setting it up the phone it rebooted a couple of times that seemed random to me, but I thought maybe that was part of the setup process. After using for several hours the phone continues to reboot randomly. As an example: I was waiting on a video to load form youtube and the screen went blank and went into reboot. Once I pressed the power key to bring the phone back from sleep mode and it went to what looked like an OS screen with three or four choices to reboot or shutdown the phone. As a side note, the battery was fully charged before I went through setup. Not sure what's going on here.

Had it happen a few times in the past couple weeks. Doing different things with the phone. I checked a txt message and the phone reset. I was playing a game and it reset. I was swiping through the screens and it reset. Anyone having similar experience? Not a big deal, just wondering what the issue was.

Sometimes, after manually locking the phone, I'll try to unlock the phone but the "swipe" bar no longer shows up. It's almost comical when this happens, as I can get phone calls, emails, texts etc during those times (I can even pick up/reply), but the phone goes immediately to that "swipe less" lock screen right afterward. There is no way for me to unlock the phone (even a long press on the lock button doesn't work), so I have to take off the case and do a battery pull to reset. Has any experienced this and does anyone have any fixes for it?

I'm having a very frustrating problem with my phone. I've been noticing a large number of random reboots lately. It primarily happens while I'm listing to music through my bluetooth headphones or my car stereo (connected via bluetooth). When the phone restarts it can't start the bluetooth and I get a force close of a system process. I have to pull the battery and cold boot it to get bluetooth back. Bad hardware?

Idk what else i can do. i started out on rooted 2.1. At first it was complete fine up until a few weeks ago. Once it started i decided to flash a barebones rooted 2.2 ROM over and i figured it would get rid of the issue. That didn't help it either. So i moved to a more well known ROM thinking maybe it will fix it so i flashed over skyraider 3.3 with sense and its still doing it. This happens like 3 times a day and sometimes it will get caught in a boot loop where it restarts before its even completely loaded. So i have to pull the battery for like 10 min. What else can i do? its soooo annoying

I sync contacts with work exchange server.I am finding that contact's first and last names are randomly being switched. It's not a huge amount,but I usually find two or so a week.This has been going on for a while now and I don't see any pattern to it other than I believe it is limited to contacts that are (or have been) used in the HTC People widget.Now.I just switched to LauncherProPlus. so we'll see if this behavior continues. I was curious if anyone else has experienced this?

I keep getting random force close messages. I tap force close, which I guess means the app with the problem closed, but nothing really happens. Other than the inconvenience of the pop up message.
Usually it's .com or .HTC processes.

Anyone else experience this? This morning i booted the phone and when sliding between panels it was slightly slow and leggy compared to normal operation. Some of my chat programs were laggy as well. It seem to have fixed itself now but it was odd. I use task killer and there wasn't much running.
Also whats up with the spacebar? Half the time it doesn't register

Im having something that syncs, only after a startup. i cant figure out what it is. all i know is that when i see the sync icon in the notification bar it lags really bad. im about to start removing bloatware until i find it. is there any other suggestions?

I have a weird problem, has anyone seen this before, I get random text messages and they say /Brew:01013D82:27110L N bhpbear_2000 And then this really long code of letters some CAP, most not and ends with Anyone seen this before? I get them randomly, and to me it seems like it�s sending me my coordinates, and bhpbear_2000 is my yahoo. Any clue? I searched it here, BREW SMS messages and it says it might be from backup assistant, anyone else know anything about this? I'm tired of these text.

When I logoff Skype it deletes a random contact in my contact data. Does not happen every time but it happens enough to be a real pain. I have been monitoring this for about 3 weeks now. This is the only time I lose contacts. I always go to People - Menu - View before I logoff Skype to see how many contacts I have. It is so frustrating to see the number drop after I logoff Skype. Does anyone else have this problem? I feel it has to be a bug in the Skype application. I do see in Manage applications - Skype Mobile - Permissions that the application can read and write contact data. This supports what I am seeing. How do I go about getting this problem resolved?

I'm getting random lockups/reboots all day long. I've been working slowly to figure out what's causing them but it's a very long process to change one thing at a time and wait for stability. So here's what I've changed and here's what I haven't. Can someone else having this same problem let me know if any of these match? If something is listed as changed, that means I either replaced or deleted it and I still have the issue.

My Dinc literally just rando-booted and when it started back up my signal strength jumped from 90dbm to 72dbm from 1-2 bars to 3-4! No idea what just happend but was curious to see if this happened to anyone else. BTW I'm in PHX, tempe area!

The call was from Seattle Washington and I live in florida but the caller left a voicemail saying " press 3 to be put on our do not call list" what the heck is this kind of making me paranoid about what apps I download and what permissions they ask for. Should I be worried? And do you think it was from updating the app it must of been a minute or so after I updated it

I haven't downloaded anything new lately, but my Inc is totally out of whack.I posted the other day about my pictures showing up as gray boxes with exclamation points.I've also, just in the past few days, had random reboots, and last night even got stuck in a short boot loop.Then this morning, my ringtones are all mixed up. All of the ones I had set are something completely different than what I set them to.Is it possible it's my memory card causing all of this? It seems like that would be best case scenario.

I'm using Handcent (recent convert from BB) I have a few shortcuts setup for frequent persons I text but wondered the fastest way to compose a text for a random person in my address book. Here's what I've done:
1. press Handcent
2. press top left icon for new message
3. press + sign
4. scroll list for contact
5. press check mark
6. press check mark to select mobile phone
7. press ok
8. press menu
9. press "end select"
10. compose text.
so, that's nuts. The other way I've tried is:
1.press people shortcut
2. scroll list for contact
3. press contact
4. Look at the 3 entries for "send message" (my example contact) and try and remember which is the cell phone.
5. press send message.
6. compose text
So I guess the second way is better but I'd rather not have to figure which is the cell phone and rather than scrolling to find the name I'd rather type first letters of name.

My phone died on me Saturday night so I took it home and put it on the charger. When it came back on, it told me my software had been successfully updated to some kind of version 3.2.something. I didn't pay attention to what it said had been updated, I just thought "cool" and hit OK. Well once I hit ok, things start force closing. I reset the phone and Color Notes stops unexpectedly immediately. Lots of my widgets say "Problem loading gadget". At least 3 out of 5 on each home screen. Lots of my apps will not open. They open then immediately close. Lookout will not initialize. Pandora closes immediately. Also, I lost most all of my contacts. My Google contacts are still there, but all the Phone contacts are gone. My call log is gone. Internet history. Some settings are gone like default program settings and sound settings. My wallpaper, emails from my Gmail account as well as settings, unlock password, calendar entries, and some other things are still there on the phone. I have NO IDEA what the hell happened, but I would really like to try to get this fixed without hard resetting my phone.
