My samsung moment (NOT rooted with 2.1) gets stuck in a boot loop when I restart it. After about 10 mins the lock screen comes up and if I unlock it quick enough the phone runs fine but if I dont unlock it within a certain period of time it will just go back into booting up and go back to showing the samsung logo.
The phone has been running very sluggish since Ive been experiencing this and Im about to do a factory data reset but I dont feel like reloading all my apps and redoing all my settings. Does anyone know of a way to fix this without resetting the whole phone? anyone else experiencing the same thing? any help would be appreciated. Im about to get a blackberry, I love the android when it works but it just seems the slightest adjustment to the phone sends the whole thing haywire. Living with this aggrevation is becoming not worth it.

I bought my phone 3 months ago and I had no problem with it "except the usual low in-call volume and battery life" but then I went on and I updated to R2BA026 firmware. First I did it OTA and the phone started restarting by itself and entering into constant restart loops. So I though it was a defective update and reupdated the device through SEUS to the same version but the problem is still there. The only way to get the device out of the restart loop is to take out the battery for few minutes and then put it back and start it, it works fine for a day or two and then it does the same thing and the problem appears again. I tried removing all applications and removing the memory card but the problem still appears and there is nothing I can do about.

I am developing a ToDo reminder type of app for android. on creation of a new reminder an alarm and vibrator scheduler is created with a toast. This works on intents and broadcasts and is pretty straight forward stuff with putextras using the reminder id from the db. My problem is, if some one restart the phone, i guess all the scheduled alarm and vibrator tasks for the reminder will be killed. Once the phone restart again how to recreate the scheduler tasks.

Sometimes, after manually locking the phone, I'll try to unlock the phone but the "swipe" bar no longer shows up. It's almost comical when this happens, as I can get phone calls, emails, texts etc during those times (I can even pick up/reply), but the phone goes immediately to that "swipe less" lock screen right afterward. There is no way for me to unlock the phone (even a long press on the lock button doesn't work), so I have to take off the case and do a battery pull to reset. Has any experienced this and does anyone have any fixes for it?

My Incred is on an infinite loop on all the startup screens. Just keeps saying droid and then the HTC brilliant screen and such over and over. This is the 2nd time it happened to me. First was replaced at no cost to me though some inconvenience. Problem is I have some pics/vids on the phone memory that I would like to grab before returning the phone again. Can anybody think of a way I could accomplish this? Would a verizon tech be any help? Just a few vids of my son that I would prefer to keep. Nothing life changing. I plugged the phone into the computer and looked for the drives on 'my computer'. They were listed but empty. I guess the phone keeps rebooting before they can be populated with stuff. Any shot of me getting a DX in replacement? Love my Dinc but have screen (size) envy.

I searched with no luck, but I know I saw another post on this yesterday.Received my DI yesterday (29th), while setting up Exchange the phone did a random reboot. Then later in the day I had 6 more and 2 more over night. This morning I had 7 in 10 minutes.Obviously this is a issue.Anyone else finding this problem? Any fixes? The DI is AWESOME! I have everything all set up on this one already and really don't want to have to exchange it, but most likely will if there is no fix.

On my Incredible running 2.2 (OTA) w/ Launcher Pro+ While using the navigation.1 of 2 things happens.
1) After using the GPS for a while (any where from 15 - about 45mins) The phone just restarts out of no where, doesn't matter if I am holding it or not. It can be the first app I turn on, with no other apps running. And some times this restart goes into to a "looping" restart. It'll just keep poping up the white htc incredible screen, then go into the new red droid eye boot animation, go blank and then go into the white boot screen again. Until I do a battery pull it won't stop.
2) The navigation will be working all fine and then out of no where just exits, without the phone even being touched. Then I'll have to open up the navi. app again and select the most recent destination.I have never rooted the phone, and I am on the OTA 2.2 update.Just wondering if any one else has a had this problem or similar?I'm going to be doing a factory reset probably tomorrow.just a quick checklist Use app brain to save all apps that were previously on the phone Make sure all images are on the SD card All contacts saved to google account Launcher Plus homescreens saved to SD I guess thats about all the backing-up thats needed?

Need a restart app or even a way to restart without ideally pulling the battery. NOT HOW TO HARD RESET. PXshutxp was great for restarting from the today home screen. Only app I've seen needs root access.

I've just plugged it in every night to charge the battery. Is there any need to shutdown and restart the Incredible on a regular basis like you would for a computer? Just wondering if this would clear caches, speed it up, etc.

So here is whats going on. I downloaded Album Art Grabber from the market, and ran it, found all of my missing album art fine. It puts all the pictures into a folder called Albumthumbs. Now every time I restart my phone, the folder is still there but all of the art is gone. I have to run the app again which uses a lot of battery. One thing I've done, is make a back up of all the pictures, but after restart, I have to copy them from back up, to album thumbs.

how to root my phone but i had just installed the AIM app and got an instant message so i swipped down to unlock the screen and kept getting these error messages that all apps were force close and space full on both phone and SD card (i had previously gotten space full on the phone but i must have uninstalled about 8 sound board apps and the message stayed) then the phone went very slowly and the force close messages would not stop so i guess i did the stupid thing and held the power button and found it odd that the only option was power off so i shut it down and attempted to turn it back on and it showed the white screen with the HTC incredible and then the HTC brilliant and then the Verizon tsunami screen or splash or whatever it is but it kept repeating that cycle over and over again (note this was not from an attempted root) i can put it into recovery mode and i was wondering what i can do from the recovery screen and if i can root it from the recovery screen. I'm sorry but i have no idea on how to root but if someone could help it would be much appreciated. and thank you for reading my long winded post but i wanted to be as detailed as possible.

This afternoon, while scanning the forums. I had my Incredible charging off the AC adapter. and in airplane mode for shits and giggles. After doing some research on the ATK killers. I decided to uninstall mine and just allow the phone to manage itself. After the phone was finished with the uninstall I gave it a quick reboot just to allow the core apps to come back up. and upon doing so, I found myself in an endless reboot cycle. I would get the HTC " quietly brilliant " screen, followed by two verizon wireless screens and then loop back to the HTC screen. I let it loop about 10 times before pulling the battey to stop it.
It's rather odd. After pulling the battery and disconnecting it from the charger, I let it sit for a few minutes, replaced the battery and attempted the restart again. Once again I found myself in the same loop. After 5-6 loops i was finally brought to the OS and everything loaded as normal. Anyone have opinions on what may have caused this?
1. Uninstall of ATK
2. Rebooting while on charge
3. Airplane mode + charge + reset=boom
4. Because I touch myself at night

I know this topic has been discussed at length, but in weeks of searching, I can't seem to find any help with my particular problem. I've had my phone since July with no issues whatsoever. It's never been rooted. I got the Froyo update with no issues. I hadn't installed any new apps, just updated the ones I had as normal. Now, after a few minutes of use of basically any program, the phone reboots itself and gets stuck in a boot loop. I've done factory resets, and the phone is now completely stock - the only "extra" thing is my email accounts through Google. I got stuck in a loop last night, powered the phone off through HBoot and let it charge overnight. When I got up this morning, unplugged it, powered it on, within a few minutes, it's rebooting again. It seems if it was a hardware issue, it would've come up before now. I should also mention this happens with our without SD card, after formatting the SD card on the phone and the computer. I hate to say this, but I'm kind of missing the days of BB where I could wipe the OS and start with a clean slate. It almost seems like something in my OS is corrupt, but I haven't messed with that side of the INC to know how to fix it. I just noticed this morning that my signal shows no bars, but I'm able to make calls, texts, etc. Also, it hasn't (knock on wood) rebooted during a phone call, but will immediately after hanging up.

Today I tried downloading multiple roms onto my HTC incredible 2. But each Rom I installed either looped on the HTC screen or wouldn't install. I tried Cm 10.0 , 10.1 and 7.2. Also I tried paranoid Rom and that also looped. Only roms that worked were the stock roms I downloaded. But only the stripped version of one stock Rom. When I tried the unstripped version which included rooted apps and tweaks the Rom worked fine with one exeption; the WiFi bugged out, constantly turns itself on and off and didn't recognize my WiFi. I rooted my incredible 2 through a website that had a full tutorial that made me unlock my phone through a key and using the command propmt to flash my phone. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I clear everything including cache and davsik or whatever its called before I install the roms. I use the clockworkmod booter thing (holding power and volume down button). I clear everything then install from SD card. I just want jellybean 4.2.3 or anything above 2.3.4.

I've been having some reception issues that seem be cleared up when i restart the handset. What I'd love is to be able to schedule a daily restart around 4am to prevent any problems from the phone running too long. Does anyone know of an app that could do this for me?

Is it possible to programmatically restart the phone from a application (service) running on top of the Dalvik VM?If the SDK does not provide this functionality, then how about using the NDK and calling some functions provided by the kernel? I know this option is not preferred (not stable enough libs), but if it's the only option, I'll have to consider that as well.

I have a rooted Stock 2.1 Dinc. Went to use the hydra kernel #1 and it put me into a boot loop. I am restoring my phone from backup so not a big deal but does anyone know why this may have occurred? I don't really need the overclock just thought I'd try it.

I have seen some others having this problem, but they talk about it being a glitch associated with tower switching? But I think my endless reboot loop is due to heat. I did not have this problem until 2.2. I can just be surfing the web or running any simple app and the phone gets really hot and bam. reboot...reboot..reboot. Have to pull the battery to stop it.
After reading a few other threads, I did the factory reset nd even completely cleaned my external card. I installed all my apps again. Then I used the web browser for about 5 minutes and ..... reboot loop.
Anyone else having this problem? I guess I am just going to have to go to verizon and get a refurb, but then I might also get an SLCD huh? Am I really going to tell the difference between those two screens? Will verizon only replace my phone with another incredible? I am just sick of this reboot thing and don't know what else to do.

I own a Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone (GT-I9100) and have installed NeatROM Lite (build number: XWLSW NeatROM Lite v4.8).
I'm developing apps and each app crash (for example occured NullPointerException) causes to freeze the device and after some minutes maybe to hot reboot (NeatROM splash screen but I don't need to enter my SIM PIN again).Maybe, because sometimes it reboots by itself, but sometimes I need to hard shutdown the device (pressing and holding the power button).
I tried to debug the application, but the only information I could get was that an exception of type RuntimeException occured. When I activate the debugger for the crashing app, the phone will not restart. The crashed app will just close.
I guess that something is wrong with the "app crash" dialog from android. I've never seen this dialog on NeatROM and when it should appear, the described procedure happens.

So, I flashed .92 hboot from adrynalynes website and it is stuck in some kind of weird hboot boot loop. When I try to reboot it just goes black and comes back to this screen. I can get to clockwork and do and nandroid backup, but I just wanted to know what potentially caused this so I can avoid this in the future.
