Why can't I add a facebook account? I'm trying to link my contacts again to update photos so i removed teh account and now it wont let me add a facebook account only htc facebook.
when i go to my contacts to try to link I click on facebook and it says zero matches found before I even type in anything. I'm guessing it's saying I don't have any friends. This is getting annoying

I removed my facebook account because I didn't wane all of my friends in my contacts, but a few of them are still in my contacts and I can't delete them!

It just takes me back to the "Add Account" screen. There's no option to even input my information to sync the account. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?
I just added my Facebook account and my entire contact/phone list is now the same as my Facebook friends list. Is there a way to avoid this? I would like to keep my phone list separate.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have unroot the phone and get problem with friend stream and facebook. I have a problem with friend stream and facebook account. Everytime I try to setup the account it tells me that "the service is currently unavailable. Do you want to try again? If I say yes get same message. I have been into facebook account setting all platform applications where turned on so I turned it off and then back on and still the same.
Tried turning the phone off then back on same thing happens. Rooted the phone again and then restored from nandroid. Still the same, so installed the rom I had before and retried still same message. Unrooted the phone again and get same problem. Also tried removing the apps from facebook application settings. When I connect I get email saying it is connected, facebook then shows htc sense back application settings, and platform apps shows htc sense in there.
I've been trying to add my Facebook account since I got the Evo on launch day and I continue to get the same error message. I haven't seen any threads mentioning this so I'm assuming it's just me, but I'm hoping others have experienced this and may know a fix. I go to Menu>Settings>Accounts & Sync>Add acount>Facebook for HTC Sense, I enter in my e-mail and password and receive the following message: "The service is currently unavailable. Do you want to try again?" I select Yes but it just keeps popping up and has done so for the last four days. Does anyone know a fix for this? I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling. I called Sprint and they suggested I reset the phone which is not something I want to do.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI am trying to remove my facebook and twitter accounts from my phone since they took over my contacts list and I simply just do not want them. When I go to settings > accounts > then try to remove either of them I get the Removing Account box with the red bar and it feels up to the end. Then I get an error message saying "An error has occurred. Please try again." I have rebooted the phone and everything.I googled this problem and found many posts with the same problem, but no answers. Does anyone have a clue what to do ?

My idiotic sister logged out of my account without my permission, logged into hers and left it like that. Now my facebook account wont sync with my phone contacts again. Everytime i go to my contacts, tap on options and go to 'accounts' and select my facebook from the list of accounts i've added, the 'sync now' button works but when I click on it it says 'sync disabled'.
I went onto my FB app and looked for account sync options but I couldnt find any.

Recently, I decided to deactivate my Facebook account since I don't really use it anymore. I have always had it listed in my accounts with Google and Twitter, and now I want it removed. Every time I try to remove it from my accounts on my phone, I get an error message. Any ideas why it's getting an error and what I can do to fix it?

AppBrain told me to upgrade it (HTC version), and upgraded to market version. Is there a difference? Should I care? Is there a way to undo what I have done? I want to sync my Facebook account and only that. I don't personally care to use the Sense inspired widgets because I like my streams separate.Anyway, I go into the Accounts menu in settings and removed the Facebook for Sense account and tried to add a new account, but whenever I click Facebook, it does absolutely nothing.I don't understand what's going on. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my original gmail account "slaved" to my google apps account, so when I log in to user@gmail.com it displays my google apps user@domain.com as being logged in. For most things this is great, but now with the android phone there are some gotchya's First was the Market. I had to create yet another gmail account to buy anything off the market, because when I sign in to my 'gmail' account on my phone it signs me in as an apps user.
Second, is my google voice (attached to gmail) has its own set of contacts associated with my gmail account, and they are not synced with my google apps account. I was hoping the phone would sort of mesh them together, however I'm not seeing that. On my iPhone I was using soocial, however they recently stopped allowing unlimited contacts and their new free limit is below my number of contacts. Is there a way for the phone to keep these to contact lists "connected" and synced together?
I'm looking to change my primary account for my android phone but am not looking to loose all my information while doing it. The gmail account i set up my first android phone with was really just a bin for all my other crazy emails to go to. I finally got to creating a real gmail account for myself and want to tie my phone to this account instead.

The Verizon rep tested it on his phones and it also worked on the Moto Droid but not his Incredible. Spent an hour on the phone with HTC and their only answer is a hard reset - which is bullshit because it doesn't work on 2 different incredibles.
