Crazy question I know, but I havn't seen it lying flat yet.
Does anyone know if the phone sits flat or does the camera make it wobble when lying flat?
Crazy question I know, but I havn't seen it lying flat yet.
So I starting calling the corporate sprint stores in my area and I noticed they were all asking if I was an existing (EC) or new customer (NC) before telling me if evo's were available. Turns out they are lying about their evo stock to EC. They will sell you one only if you're a NC. So I called a store, and told them I was a tmobile customer. "We have 5 in stock so if you come in the next 30 minutes you can get one". Then, I told them I wanted to buy the phone outright, full retail, no line activation sprint rep told me they don't have phones in stock for me.
Immediately I called sprint customer service; they called the store. (10 min after original call). Store now says none are available, and there is a waitlist. I'm not the only one. Sprint HTC EVO 4G supplies running low, but could be higher than we think - Android and Me
Try it yourself:
Around Sunnyvale, Ca 5 of 6 stores I called asked if i was an existing customer before answering if they had it in stock. 6 store said none. 2 of 2 stores, told me they had stock, then changed tune when they found out i was an existing customer. I should have just gone to the store, waited for them to present the phone. then reveal I'm an existing customer. If they try to pull it back, then call sprint customer service.
Anyone know if the Original Droids "Rage Red" Boot Animation will work on the X. And if it will does anyone have a copy of it lying around? I can't find a download for it anywhere.

I don't find the audio quality of my iPhone to be as good as my gf's zune hd. If I put the same song on both my iPhone and Evo, it is immediately apparent to me which one is which. The Evo doesn't go as loud, and it just sounds a lot more flat, and way less crisp. We're talking night and day here, at least IMO.
I don't consider myself an audiophile by any means, but this feels like a huge downgrade to me. I've tried using both the stock music player as well as Doubletwist. It's so sounding. I think I'm probably going to return it, and go with a new iPhone. Anyone else generally unimpressed by the audio quality of the Evo? I'd imagine my beef is with the hardware, and it's pretty unlikely that a 2.2 root would fix my problems.
I want to store a few values in the form of high scores. But since im not going to be storing more than 5 values, using SQLlite doesn't seem appropriate. Another option considering was a flat file, but not sure how to go about..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI search an icon pack with an minimalistic and/or flat design.
So nothing like MIUI,IOS or something.
It should look like android 4.4 Icons.
There is an Icon from whatsapp while starting.

I am developing an app on Android that will randomly pick and display an inspirational quotation (or verse) from a large collection of quotations. On Android I can choose between a flat file and an SQLite database. The app should satisfy the following conditions:
Be scalable to 10^6 quotations and/or verses
Be very fast (i.e. retrieve and display a quotation, immediately at the touch of a button)
Be able to load new quotations from an external source (in a format I have not yet decided)
What data format must I use?
In Android when you upgrade a database all data is lost. I'm going through a phase of development right now that is forcing many database upgrades. I don't want to lose all my data (and have to manually re-enter it) each time I upgrade my database. I would like to store my data in flat files and load those flat files into their respective tables each time a database upgrade occurs.
My questions is: What is the best way to go about this on the Android platform? Where should I store the data files (res/raw???) What sql should I execute to load these files?
So I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

Instead of trying to grab the notification bar and swiping it down, simply start ABOVE the screen and swipe down. Fast or slow makes no difference.
You can swipe it back up, or simply hit the back button.
I used the method of rooting by reverting back to 2.1 then use unrevoked now my camera won't work any tips? I love my root but also my camera is a very nice feature.
View 11 Replies View RelatedThought I had a horizontal scratch running across the back camera glass element. After investigating with my finger nail and then looking at it from an angle I've determined it's not a scratch but a pressure crack. My fingernail can't get caught anywhere on the surface, but when you view it from an angle it looks extremely deep (basically the thickness of the glass).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have this problem since i have bought my phone two years ago. I contacted the supplier about it but unfortunately the company shut down.
However, the problem is the back camera of my galaxy s1 can't take pictures and it appears to me like this in the gallery even in my computer i can't view the pictures that i have taken. The back camera can take videos but not pictures image hosting photobucket
I have searched xda and found that the 4.0+ face unlock app can modded to use the back camera, but the devs found it pointless and lame and did not do it.
mod the faceunlock to work with our phones without frontcam just for fun and make it work with our phones running cm9/10?
for example, when i unlock it, i do it with pin but when my friend tries to use my phone he must take my permission and unlock it with face unlock.
I was wondering if anyone has a cure for this. The phone is rooted and on Villain 5.x. I've recently started using the camera and noticed that it will abruptly close on me - no force close message or anything - just back to the Home screen. A reboot seems to fix it for a few snaps, then the same again.

View 5 Replies View RelatedTook my EVO out of my pocket when I landed this morning and noticed that I have a horizontal scratch running across the back camera lens. Not even sure where it came from or when it happened. Seems like it'd be way to easy to do though considering the phone rests on the camera lens when you place it on a flat surface. I know this happens to all new toys - but I didn't even make it a week.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got a rooted Android device (Motorola Photon Q running stock ICS 4.0.4) which happened to have rear camera broken - specifically - the camera connector on motherboard . Before, all the apps I tried were able to switch on the flashlight to use as a torch. Since the camera went broke, none of them work. When opening stock Camera application, it shows front facing camera view. The switch is grayed out. It used to show an error like "failed to initialize" about back camera before showing front camera view, but it does not anymore, after trying to fix the connector I've written my own application to at least debug it and find out where the problem lays, and tried a few ways to light the flash, but no luck.
The question is:
Any way to bypass the checking of back camera (starting it) and going directly to switching on the flashlight? Or is there any general or device-specific way to enable flashlight without camera working (but plugged in, just a few pins of total 32 are lost)? I can provide any specific logs, files or parts of the ROM
I will be getting another motherboard in a few months probably, but before then, I want to challenge this. As of ideas, I was searching and thinking of either creating sth like DroidLED for my device (however I dont know if such approach is still valid under ICS) or somehow switching hardware addresses of back and front camera, so the front one would act like a back one. Both hard or impossible.
Would there ever be a camera that could use front and back cameras at the same time? Or app? Do it have to be a powerful phone maybe like note 2 ect? Do you think such feature can be run on a low end phone maybe like HTC evo 4g?
I know gs4 can do this but what about other non Samsung phones?

View 11 Replies View Related1. after taking a picture, and clicking on the thumbnail to view it, have the phone let you view it in portrait, not landscape only.
2. on board image resizing, the 5, 3 and 2mp options dont cut it. let us choose 640x480(all MP's), 800X600(all MPs) 1024x768, etc..
3. when in camera settings, when you click back to get back to the options it closes the whole settings slider. which is annoying.
My camera stopped working. When I click my camera application I get the message "The application camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". It's just a blank screen?
