Very new to this world of custom roms, rooting etc. I have a droid eris i got in a trade. it has kaos froyo v31. Iwant to activate the phone, but am having a couple issues i would like to resolve before doing so. When i try to use the camera, the phone powers itself off and then back on. And when i dial the *228 to activate it I have no dial pad to select the option to program the phone.

hey guys, i need some help. got this eris on ebay description said it restarts and cant get to the main screen. anyways, the phone powers on and just keeps rebooting. I dont know what to do, i went into the boot screen and this is what is says

All i want to do is get this thing working jus for wifi cause i cant afford the 30 a month to use it, can someone help me get this thing back to basic?
After the upgrade the camera does not zoom anymore. Am I doing something wrong or is it gone for good?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOne big problem I've noticed is that when you need to have your phone switched off (e.g. on an aircraft, etc.) it's all too easy for the phone to switch itself on whilst in your pocket - the "power on" button just needs the slightest tap and then it springs into life.I know whilst on a plane I could pre-set it to in-flight mode before powering it off, but that's not the point. Like when powering the phone off, there is a delay and a set of menu options. I'd like something similar for powering the phone on - programmable delay and/or combination of pressing say home and the "power on" button.Does anyone know of an app or some code I could run to alter the way the phone behaves ?. Not sure if the only way to add this functionality is part of a flash update as it needs to survive a power off, etc.

Is it possible to port the stock camera app from the EVO for use on the Eris? I like the handy "on screen" shutter button.
Had the eris, got rid of it cuz of the battery life, got the storm 2, decided even though blackberry 6 is the next big thing coming out, I missed my droid and all the apps, especially swype. I'm back now, this just feels right.

I put my phone in the car dock basically anytime im in the car) but I'm curious to know if anyone else has had an issue with their Droid powering down or power cycling when they simply remove if from the dock. If this is an issue with my droid only then I need to get a replacement but if not, I'll just handle it and figure its a known issue thats being looked at.

When I send the phone back to them, should I put Leak V3 on the phone so that the numbers match up better, or do you guys think it will matter? Should I somehow just erase that HBOOT thing off of the phone and just send it to them all bricked? I'm trying to hide evidence of leak installation as best as possible so that they don't decide to charge me or something for the replacement. input Good news is my wife is finally getting a new phone after I jacked it up with the leak.

i cannot for the life of me get it back. verizon says it was lost after the upgrade. i put the "people" icon on my now when i need to call a friend who is on my "favorite" list, i hit that icon, it brings me to all contacts and at the bottom i then have to depress favorites which brings up groups, then hit favorites. like 4 steps to make a phone call?

The clear plastic on my battery cover (over the camera) has a crack going right through the line of sight for the camera. Anyone know of a good place to get a (hopefully cheap) replacement rear cover/battery cover/phone back?

Any suggestions? (Love the phones by the way!) OH!!! And, bought the Seido 3500 mah battery. it really is not that big, fits in my hand nicely. After investigating with my finger nail and then looking at it from an angle I've determined it's not a scratch but a pressure crack. My fingernail can't get caught anywhere on the surface, but when you view it from an angle it looks extremely deep (basically the thickness of the glass).

I have searched xda and found that the 4.0+ face unlock app can modded to use the back camera, but the devs found it pointless and lame and did not do it.
mod the faceunlock to work with our phones without frontcam just for fun and make it work with our phones running cm9/10?
for example, when i unlock it, i do it with pin but when my friend tries to use my phone he must take my permission and unlock it with face unlock.
I was wondering if anyone has a cure for this. The phone is rooted and on Villain 5.x. I've recently started using the camera and noticed that it will abruptly close on me - no force close message or anything - just back to the Home screen. A reboot seems to fix it for a few snaps, then the same again.

Not even sure where it came from or when it happened. Seems like it'd be way to easy to do though considering the phone rests on the camera lens when you place it on a flat surface. I know this happens to all new toys - but I didn't even make it a week.
