Apr 30, 2010Just curious, I have my phone set to time out after 2 minutes. Is pressing the lock button on top the only way to wake it up?

View 1 RepliesDon't know if this was ever posted, never saw it. If you want to be able to wake your phone with the trackpad, go to the market and get "No Lock". Its an app to disable the slide down to unlock. Well I found out that the trackpad will now wake the phone. Just click the trackpad. No need for the top button. Also the side buttons will wake the phone. So if you keep your phone in your pocket be careful.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to wake the phone by pressing the trackpad button. (like the iPhone's home button, just converted ) I've looked around and can't seem to find a way to set this. I tried the "lockbot" app someone had recommended but it did more then i wanted and still didn't seem to enable that button to wake the phone. Any ideas?

This isn't an issue if I am in a quiet environment, but otherwise it is. I have checked all the settings and there doesn't seem to be a way to make this happen.

I find the power button to be annoying and wish both would "wake-up" the screen.
Is there a way to use the optical mouse to wake my phone up as opposed to using the top button?
View 3 Replies View Relatedlast night I got tired of waiting for the 2.2 update so I installed unrevoked forever, 2.15 radio and the third wave rom from adrenyline. After all that went smoothly I decided to throw the standard clock undervolt hydra kernel in there too. After I did that I got sporadic reboots and the screen became very unresponsive. Also it seems to cause the phone to freeze whenever it has to wake up to play a notification sound or alarm...
Now I have to say that I had the same problem about a month ago when I tried one of the older Hydra Kernels, but I figured it would be fixed with the newer ones. My question is it seems that I am the only one with problems, all the posts I read about these things are positive with little or no issues. Am I installing it incorrectly somehow? Is anyone else having issues too?
So we all know our Incredible, is well Incredible. But how does it wake you up? Certain app? Song? ETC.
For me after running Lightning Bug all night, my smart alarm clock wakes me up playing Lady gagas Alejandro... :-)
So I've been trying to use a MP3 sound for my alarm clock on my Incredible, but haven't had any luck other than just the "Light" "Instance" etc... what do I have to do, to get an actual song to be on that list to wake me up?

As of right now my phone has been unplugged for 3 hours and the calendar has held a 30 minute partial wake lock. The second on the list is the Android system which has only held a 4 minute partial wake lock. Is this normal for the calendar to hold a partial wake lock like this? I heard about the Flickr bug but I do not sync my account with Flickr and never have. I'm not even syncing my calendar with Google currently.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Incredible. Sometimes when I want to hang up a call I can't get my screen to wake. Does it really sleep in the middle of a call? I feel like I should just be able to touch it and it should give me the hang up option.
Sometimes it responds nicely by lighting back up when I tilt the phone away from my ear and then I can press the hang up button, but other times I have the problem that I just described.
Anyone found a good shake to wake app.I read in one review that the Incredible has one built in but I can't find it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNoticed this happen about 2-3 times since I got the phone on launch day... In fact, it just happened again. Was wondering if anyone else had this problem.I've noticed sometimes when I leave my phone alone (standby, screen turned off, etc) and try to wake my phone, the phone does not power back on at all. And yes, battery still has a good amount of charge left.I can press the power/wake button but no response. No unlock screen, nothing. I hold the power/wake button and it does not boot either. Only a battery pull will allow the phone to boot go back to normal again.Anyone have this problem before?

View 1 Replies View Related1) I can press a button to 'wake' up the phone to the lock screen, but I may have to press a button 2 or 3 times to wake the phone up. it seems like it's not waking up correctly and on the first button press.
2) Twitter and other notifications 'sometimes' dont happen until I unlock the screen...this COULD be coincidence, but I thought I would throw it out for people.
3) I didnt get a voicemail given on Friday until today, which appeared as a result of me switching off my phone and switching it back on. has anyone else heard of this???
4) I cant figure out a way to stop apps from starting on bootup, such as peep? I use twidroid, so dont need two apps running of the same ilk?? Any help here?
Thanks in advance guys.
I am using the factory Alarm Clock on my Inc. It works okay but if my phone is off, the alarm will not wake up the phone and sound alarm or at least the alarm going off would work for me.
On my BB Curve even if the phone was off the alarm would go off at the set time and the phone would turn on. Kinda nice, only downfall is only had 1 alarm where as Inc has a few.
With the marginal battery life on this thing I sometimes turn it off to charge when going to sleep at nite and do a few bumps in the morning. Problem is the alarm doesnt go off if the phone is off.
IF the factory phone alarm does not do this does anyone know of one that does? Perhaps in Market?
Having come from an iPhone I find it somewhat annoying that I can't use the lovely trackball to wake my nexus one from standby.I realize it could be a problem if you pressed it in your pocket as it sticks out but I'd like to have the option to do it.Does anyone know if it is possible?
View 48 Replies View RelatedHaving issues on our phones to where the Lotus Notes Traveler application will not notify the user that there is new mail until he/she "wakes" up the phone by pressing the power button on. It only happens after the phone has been on for a day or so.Once the power button is pressed that turns the screen on, tons of new mail will come in. Almost like that it doesn't see a data connection until it is turned on.SMS messages and phone calls work fine. "Always On Mobile Data" is set to ON.Also, everything in the application is set to 'Sync all the time'Any ideas what it could be? It seems that the data connection is not notifying the phone until the screen gets turned on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Moto Android, when it sleeps, if I hit the silver camera button on the lower right, it wakes up... Great, it makes it easier.But, I switched phones because my screen craked. We had an extra one when a family member bought an IPhone. But this phone does not wake up when I push this button. Same phone, same software, same OS. Why the difference?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while the screen will stay black and the power button will have no effect on the phone. Even if i was just on it, Yes its fully charged. But if someone calls me the phone comes out of its "locked up / sleep state". I was curious as to why it does this. Im going to basic training in about a month for the army and was told to bring my phone as to the DS can choose to let me use it or not. Id hate to not be able to use my cell if i bring it.
I am using CYanogenmod 7 Rom.

I have a service which holds on to a wakelock and the code is similar to this,
public class WakeLockService extends Service {
PowerManager.WakeLock wl;
@Override
public IBinder onBind(Intent arg0) {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub return null;
} public void onCreate() {
PowerManager pm = (PowerManager) getSystemService (Context.POWER_SERVICE);
wl = pm.newWakeLock (PowerManager.PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK, "My Tag");
wl.acquire();
} public void onDestroy() {
wl.release();
}
For past two days, my phone has been restarting randomly. Today it was worse, it kept restarting until I uninstalled the app. I tried to search about this behaviour online and found that too many wakelocks may coz the phone to restart. Can there be any other reason? Is the above code right? Should make wl as a final variable? Does the service call onDestroy method when phone shuts down? I am using a broadcastreceiver to start my service at boot up as well.
