I'm making a call or I receive a call and I need to use the key pad to enter an account number.The screen is black. How in FSM's name do I wake the damn phone up without hanging up?The screen always goes black and nothing I do will wake it up minus hitting the hang up button.and it hangs the phone up.I'm running CM6

I'm trying to do some research for my brother - he is having a lot of trouble typing and wanting Voice Input on his Hero like on the keyboard like on the Evo and other devices.
How do you get this? Install an apk? Root necessary?
I updated to the 2.1 leak and my phone is STILL stuck at 100% wake.I downloaded spare parts and nothing.it just says under OTHER.it says RUNNING 100%
View 21 Replies View RelatedI'm getting wake times near 100% with this ROM and I don't have the first clue why. I wiped and installed properly, and I have autokill set to optimal. Not runinng setCPU or anything, and I've never had this problem before so I don't think its an app.
If anyone could help, I would REALLY appreciate it. I tried dc2.05, but now I have the no audio issue on phone calls from this ROM, so I had to switch back for the fix -.- Really frustrated and really need a working ROM + phone =
AlwaysFlash seems to be the problem, uninstalled and wake time seems to be staying low under all circumstances.
First it was Landscape mode only, but now portrait landscape on my 2.1 is just as leggy as it is in landscape mode. Anyone else experiencing this and are there any known fixes yet?

2) Twitter and other notifications 'sometimes' dont happen until I unlock the screen...this COULD be coincidence, but I thought I would throw it out for people.
3) I didnt get a voicemail given on Friday until today, which appeared as a result of me switching off my phone and switching it back on. has anyone else heard of this???
4) I cant figure out a way to stop apps from starting on bootup, such as peep? I use twidroid, so dont need two apps running of the same ilk?? Any help here?

Has anyone else had issues with input boxes not displaying what is typed? I have tried the stock keyboard, better keyboard, and am now using swype. They all do it and its random. I regularly use Google Talk and will be chatting for a little bit, hit the end button to lock the screen, come back 2 minutes later and it won't take anything I type. It usually comes back 5-10 minutes later or if I reboot.
This has been going on since 1.5 and continued in stock 2.1 and is still there rooted using Fresh 2.1.
I have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

The only tome I had any frustrations was getting the clips unhooked also removing the cracked piece from the super strong adhesive. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm moving over to Sprint.I'd rather not pay the $10 4G fee (or whatever you want to call that $10 fee), so I'll probably stick with a 3G phone.Is the Hero the best option? What I really need the phone to be able to do is voice calling, text, email, web browsing, etc. I'm not a power user, so I don't think I'd use the full power of the Evo anyway, so that's another reason to stick with the Hero.And if I understand correctly, I'd be eligible for upgrade pricing after 1yr with Sprint.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI rooted quite awhile back; I think it is Fresh 1.1.It worked fine.This morning it started spontaneously rebooting and is saying com.google.process.gapps. has stopped and all apps have forced close. At that point nothing works.I do have a Sprint contract to fix it but it has been rooted so I don't know what to do.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI own a hero on orange with the latest orange firmware. Over the past couple of days I've been having a few problems, mainly with my messengers from what I can see. Sometimes when using ebuddy or meebo, my phone's screen will go to standby (blank) as normal but will not wake up or do any functions. I have to take the battery out of the phone and reboot. I tried re-flashing the firmware just incase but it still does it. I'm trying out hi msn to see if that is any better. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and also does it sound like a firmware issue?

They activated the phones for us and than told us that it should only be 30 minutes before our phones were on but could take up to 24 hours. its been about 15-16 hours and was wondering if it takes everyone this long?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a vanilla Hero. Since I bought it (around 2 months ago), the awake time has NEVER been under 100%. I installed the Modaco 2.9 ROM yesterday (which I highly recommend; my Hero is now much faster) and it's STILL 100%.
Spare parts tell me that the culprit appears to be 'Android system'.
I'd like to reduce my wake time if it's at all possible.
I'm aware of the messaging app/dialer issue; that's not what this is, since I'm using CHOMP sms and it's still an issue.
Just curious, I have my phone set to time out after 2 minutes. Is pressing the lock button on top the only way to wake it up?

Was wondering if anyone else had this problem.I've noticed sometimes when I leave my phone alone (standby, screen turned off, etc) and try to wake my phone, the phone does not power back on at all. And yes, battery still has a good amount of charge left.I can press the power/wake button but no response. No unlock screen, nothing. I hold the power/wake button and it does not boot either. Only a battery pull will allow the phone to boot go back to normal again.Anyone have this problem before?

View 8 Replies View RelatedDon't know if this was ever posted, never saw it. If you want to be able to wake your phone with the trackpad, go to the market and get "No Lock". Its an app to disable the slide down to unlock. Well I found out that the trackpad will now wake the phone. Just click the trackpad. No need for the top button. Also the side buttons will wake the phone. So if you keep your phone in your pocket be careful.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the factory Alarm Clock on my Inc. It works okay but if my phone is off, the alarm will not wake up the phone and sound alarm or at least the alarm going off would work for me.
On my BB Curve even if the phone was off the alarm would go off at the set time and the phone would turn on. Kinda nice, only downfall is only had 1 alarm where as Inc has a few.
With the marginal battery life on this thing I sometimes turn it off to charge when going to sleep at nite and do a few bumps in the morning. Problem is the alarm doesnt go off if the phone is off.
IF the factory phone alarm does not do this does anyone know of one that does? Perhaps in Market?
Is the track ball supposed to wake up the phone?

View 48 Replies View RelatedHaving issues on our phones to where the Lotus Notes Traveler application will not notify the user that there is new mail until he/she "wakes" up the phone by pressing the power button on. It only happens after the phone has been on for a day or so.Once the power button is pressed that turns the screen on, tons of new mail will come in. Almost like that it doesn't see a data connection until it is turned on.SMS messages and phone calls work fine. "Always On Mobile Data" is set to ON.Also, everything in the application is set to 'Sync all the time'Any ideas what it could be? It seems that the data connection is not notifying the phone until the screen gets turned on.
