HTC Incredible :: Any Application For 3G Toggle
May 4, 2010I know I can turn 3g off in the menu, but is there an app that can do this via toggle? No need for it on while I'm working in front of the internet all day.

View 16 RepliesI want to download a WiFi Toggle On/Off App on my Sprint HTC Hero. I assume this will save battery power. Correct? This will save battery power because when it's toggled off, it won't waste power searching for available WiFi networks when I don't need to be looking for them. Correct? I can go into Menu, Settings (so many steps) to change my settings to turn this on and off. So, there's Apps on the Android Market that can be downloaded to have a WiFi - On and Off - toggle switch. I went to the Android Market and there were so many!
Question:
What is the most recommended - simple - practical - no bells and whistles - most reliable - absolutely best that nobody beats it - WiFi - On and Off - Toggle switch? I see this one from Curvefish is quite popular: WiFi OnOff v1.2.1 Application for Android | Tools
Is this one the most recommended?
So I disabled Sense on my 2.1 and does anyone know of a good application or widget that can toggle 3G, WiFi, and GPS. I tried power control but it didn't work with my 3G.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a big fan of Toggle Settings but my one wish would be that it could toggle GPS. From what I understand, the security of Android doesn't allow any app to turn GPS on/off. My question is, since installing Mobile Defense as a system application allows it to turn my GPS on, would installing Toggle Settings as a system app enable the same feature? Does anybody know of a way around this or another app that is similar and can toggle GPS settings?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have the SkyRaider 2.5.2 Vanilla ROM installed. I am wondering if there is a way I can get the 3G widget from htc sense on here somehow. I know this ROM still has a few sense applications and visualization, so maybe it is possible? I have been looking in the market with no luck None of the ones I have installed has worked so far.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI feel like this must be so obvious and I'm missing it. Just want a button I can hit to turn screen off without waiting for it to timeout on its own. Otherwise it seems to often do random stuff in my pocket if I am unwilling to wait to put it back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust recently I've been noticing my Wi-Fi toggle widget acting up. It seems like it doesn't want to turn on my wi-fi for some reason. I've tried both stock wi-fi widgets and when I press them I see the green switch flip, but no wi-fi goes on. Only when I go into Menu -> Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Wi-Fi Settings do I see "out of range" suddenly disappear and then I'm connected. My wi-fi won't turn on unless I actually watch it do so. Has this happened to anyone else?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a CDMA Android phone, the Droid Incredible on Verizon. I have a pretty good background with electronics, hardware and software. Can anyone please tell me why all the apps in the app market state they are unable to toggle network connectivity off and on on a CDMA device? My device runs HTC SenseUI. There is a toggle widget that allows the mobile network to be turned on and off. There is a settings section that allows it to be done. Why don't applications have access to this functionality?Someone PLEASE be technical and detailed. This is a frustrating limitation that I just don't understand.

Since there is no need for me to have the phone searching for 3G if it's not available. I tried to switch it off, however I can't find the setting. Has it been removed from the Aria?
I've gotten Curvefish's 2G/3G toggle widget, but no luck for me.
I have location settings unchecked as to save battery life. Well I put the GPS toggle on one of my screens and when I switched it to ON, nothing seemed to happen. I thought I could just turn that on and go use Sprint Navigation or something but turns out I still had to go into settings, location, and check them all. So, what's the point of the GPS toggle?

View 8 Replies View RelatedCan someone post the different types of toggle switches you can get for this phone? View 2 Replies View RelatedOne of the first things I did when I got my Evo was turn off HTC Sense - can't stand its gaudy widgets and general bloat. However, one thing I am missing is HTC's little toggle widgets - particularly the one that lets you turn on/off 4G. The native Android toggle widget doesn't let you control 4G. Does anyone know any 3rd-party / alternative widgets to toggle 4G? Given that it's the first 4G phone, they probably don't exist but it would be cool if someone with know, how could develop one!

As it turns out though bellingham is the only other Washington city besides Seattle that has 4g and I go there at least once a week to visit friends. Also if anybody on here is from bellingham or if you have been there and tried the 4g how is the coverage and speed?

Basically I just want the background to be the depressed background, but I can't figure out how to set it. Also I don't believe I can actually use this method considering the many different UI layouts. The button should stay pressed as per the UI the user is using.
