HTC EVO 4G :: 4G Toggle On Or Off
Jun 8, 2010
Well my area is not 4G yet (fingers crossed), but I would like to know instantly when it happens. Does leaving 4G toggled on, in a non 4G area, affect battery much? Does it stop trying to scan if no signal is found?

See the 3rd post. I am looking for the Widget where you can toggle everything that came with the evo plus the 4g, vibrate, and the E all in one widget. [Themes] Konikubs Evo Theme Collection - Froyo 2.2 - Usable on many ROMS!

Does anyone know of a way to toggle on/off 3G? There is no 3G in my area quite yet (hoorah for living in the sticks).
Since there is no need for me to have the phone searching for 3G if it's not available. I tried to switch it off, however I can't find the setting. Has it been removed from the Aria?
I've gotten Curvefish's 2G/3G toggle widget, but no luck for me.

I have location settings unchecked as to save battery life. Well I put the GPS toggle on one of my screens and when I switched it to ON, nothing seemed to happen. I thought I could just turn that on and go use Sprint Navigation or something but turns out I still had to go into settings, location, and check them all. So, what's the point of the GPS toggle?

Is there a way to toggle or even an app to use edge only? I have the HTC Aria, and can't seem to be able to select network. It's greyed out, and not sure why. It's my first android.

Can someone post the different types of toggle switches you can get for this phone? I was looking through the 'post your screens' thread and I see all of these cool toggle switches for silent mode, vibrate, airplane, etc. But no one post the names of them or where to find them.

One of the first things I did when I got my Evo was turn off HTC Sense - can't stand its gaudy widgets and general bloat. However, one thing I am missing is HTC's little toggle widgets - particularly the one that lets you turn on/off 4G. The native Android toggle widget doesn't let you control 4G. Does anyone know any 3rd-party / alternative widgets to toggle 4G? Given that it's the first 4G phone, they probably don't exist but it would be cool if someone with know, how could develop one!

I currently have the SkyRaider 2.5.2 Vanilla ROM installed. I am wondering if there is a way I can get the 3G widget from htc sense on here somehow. I know this ROM still has a few sense applications and visualization, so maybe it is possible? I have been looking in the market with no luck None of the ones I have installed has worked so far.

Can someone tell me how to get my 4g on/off toggle widget back? I ended up deleting all my toggles but WiFi and gas as those are the only ones I was really using. As it turns out though bellingham is the only other Washington city besides Seattle that has 4g and I go there at least once a week to visit friends. Also if anybody on here is from bellingham or if you have been there and tried the 4g how is the coverage and speed?

I know there are ones that are a shortcut, but I'm referring to one that acts like the "Mobile" widget on Sense. The market is cluttered with widgets that control, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, Brightness etc...

How can I have an imagebutton stay in the 'pressed' state when it is clicked? Basically I just want the background to be the depressed background, but I can't figure out how to set it. At the moment, I've just copied the selected button background into my res folder, but when I set it as the background, it becomes blurry (since the original image is bigger than the button itself).
Normal Background:
What I'm getting:
Also I don't believe I can actually use this method considering the many different UI layouts. The button should stay pressed as per the UI the user is using.

I have a AT&T HTC Inspire 4g.I don`t live in the States, and my problem with that is the fact that in my country the 3g network runs at 2100, and the phone isn`t supporting it.I read that my operator runs 2g on 900, and also checked that the phone supports it, but there is no option in the menu to change from 3g/4g to 2g

Anyone else having trouble the past few weeks with the weather updating on the Weather and Toggle Widget? When I add the widget it gives the correct weather for that time. It just never changes from there. I love the way the widget looks and hope it's just something I'm doing wrong.

I'm loving my EVO so far and am already starting to adjust to the touchscreen after many years of physical-keyboard Blackberries.Things are looking good.I have one question though. One feature I absolutely lived by on my BB was to hold down "Q" to toggle between silent and vibe all. Those were the only two profiles I ever used.I'm sure there is a very simple answer to my question, but I can't seem to find it on my own yet. I currently have my phone set to vibrate (menu>settings>sound & display>sound profiles), but emails, texts, and gchats aren't vibrating when they arrive.I bought Quick Profiles and put the widget on my home screen. I made silent and vibrate profiles, but I don't see where I can customize what vibrates and what doesn't other than the phone ringer.Anyway, with the phone profile on vibrate and the Quick Profile profile on vibrate, I'm still not vibrating.

In my Android application, I want a setting to be toggleable in it's menu like the Dialer app does for speaker and mute.
You can see a picture below:
You see how the Speaker, Mute and Hold options are toggle buttons - you can tap them again and they will toggle the green color. They may do this in a custom way, but I suspect it is a option (I tried setting the Checkable attribute).
