View 4 RepliesI installed Fresh 2.1.1 today, and everything was working fine.I attempted to update the radio, and I think my phone reverted back to 1.5, so I had to reinstall Fresh again. To install the radio, I followed the instructions here: How To: Flash a Radio Update Sprint HTC Hero Geek For Me Android CDMA Sprint Hero

So I updated to villain 10 which I love, but I also updated the radio. Now I have no 3G icon, the signal bars are there but no data icon after turning off the wifi. Is this villian rom or the radio update? Any ideas how to fix this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone a while back and I am trying to update the recovery image. I think the recovery image I have downloaded (recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2) has some extra options such as being able to flash the radio which is what I want to do. I have updated my rom to 2.1 by copying the image accross and naming it update.zip and booting into recovery and applying the update. That is fine and I am now running SenseHERO-2.1_signed-update. I have tried using flashrec but it fails with "cannot run command" and I think it is because I already have a patched recovery image. What is the best thing to do? Can I update my recovery image manually from the command line? Can I update the radio in the same way? Have I misunderstood the procedure?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have seen the rooting video by theunlockr and it seems easy enough. And I can follow instructions so installing the ROM should not be an issue.
What/where is the radio update and how do I install it?
If I backup my apps with MyBackupPro, will they be able to receive updates once reinstalled using MyBackupPro?
Is there any word on an official update? Would I receive it direct from HTC or need to wait for an Orange allowed one?
I have been trying to update radio.I am running fresh 3.3.0.1 and my current baseband is 1.39.00.05.31 i am trying to update to 2.15.00.09.01.I am booting into recovery using my computer and the recovery-windows.bat command. i wipe both caches and apply the zip. It shows it writing and goes through the motions with the reboots but when the phone comes back on i dont get the messages that i updated on the home screen. when i go to the software information screen it still shows baseband of 1.39 and PRI 1.40_003.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to update my radio to 2.15 from 1.0. i put the pb31img zip on the root of my sd card, and did everything it said to do here: New Radio 2.15.00.07.28 for HTC Incredible from Adrynalyne but it doesn't actually ask me to update. it checks the file but then goes to the standard hboot menu. I'm running frankenrom 5 if it matters and I'm new to rooting and stuff so I'm probably making a simple mistake.

View 32 Replies View RelatedI installed Fresh Evo 0.3 on a stock Evo and everything was fine and dandy. ES File Explorer worked, ROM Manager, everything, etc. I then decided to flash the latest radio update as well. Upon the reboot, all my settings got lost, I had to redo my email, etc but the radio got updated. It also looks like all the apps Fresh 0.3 included now went missing. Did I do something wrong or it this a bug?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi downloaded the newest radio update and i booted into clockworkmod and installed but when i went into about phone the radio version stayed the same..
View 10 Replies View RelatedI successfully installed version 1.6 but was having trouble connecting my wifi. I did a factory reset and tried to re-install the ota- radio-2_22_19_26i.zip. After copying it to update.zip on the sd card and booting it would begin the install process. Verified ok. Install started but then I got the "installation aborted" message. Tried several times with no luck. I tried the recovery image process update and it seemed to work.
Questions:
Did the abort occur because the radio update was already done?
Did I actually update the recovery image if the radio update failed?
I have a G1 Dev Phone. I am unable to install the 1.6 radio update from this page: http://developer.htc.com/adp.html The file name is: ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip I push it to the phone as update.zip, do a shell sync, wait 5 minutes, reboot into recovery mode, press alt+L, then alt+S. I get:
-- Install from sdcard... Finding update package... Opening update package... Verifying update package... Installing update... Installation aborted.
While it says "Verifying update package..." a progress bar slowly grows in the background. When it gets to about 50%, the next 2 messages appear and then I'm back to the system recovery menu.
Why are there no error message? What am I supposed to do now?
I have tried a factory reset. I have tried redownloading the package and doing all the steps again. My phone still works, but I no longer get 2G (I'm on an AT&T carrier with a SIM from an iPhone, so I have never gotten 3G). WIFI and making/receiving calls still works, just no 2G
I was following the wiki for rooting and flashing CM6. It says in order to flash the new radio I need to have s-off set. If so is the best way to just use unrevoked forever? This is what I was following: Full Update Guide - HTC Incredible - CyanogenMod Wiki

View 32 Replies View RelatedI'm running CyanogenMod6 Test8 right now, with the 1.X radio. if I update the radio to 2.X, and install the skyraider ROM, what happens if I just get so sick of sense that I go into rom manager and restore to my previous CyanogenMod6 Test8? Will the radio still be 2.X? Would I still be able to switch between ROMs as easily as I do now, only difference being my radio is updated?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI see these components discussed all the time on xda-developers. I have a vague understanding of what they are and how they're related to each other, but it's not perfectly clear. For example, the radio seems to be a lot more than just the radio. I have a good understanding of the basic ideas as a Linux user and software developer. To kick things off, let me present my current understanding. I could be way off on some things:"Radio" - I'm not sure if this runs before the bootloader or after HBOOT is the bootloader, the first thing that runs when you boot up your phone. Like your regular Linux bootloader, it lets you boot off of different partitions. There are multiple partitions on the system, at least one for HBOOT (maybe? or is it in some kind of MBR type of area?), recovery, system and data. All of these partitions are in the system's "ROM" which is not really ROM it's actually NVRAM or flash or whatever. Hence, each of these areas can be independently flashed.Recovery is a partition you can boot into. It's originally meant to be a kind of "recovery" mode and so offers a base for hacking. This is typically re-flashed so as to follow further modifications. From the recovery image, you can also access the sdcard which is useful for fetching update.zip files etc. update.zip - these are updates that can be applied from a custom recovery image. It seems like these updates can contain more or less arbitrary code, but I'm not clear on how they get applied or where they get flashed to or applied to./system - gets mounted read-only (what control this?) unless you do some hacking Where does the kernel sit? Is there a different one in the recovery versus the regular image? which parts form a custom ROM like CyanogenMod? What is the NAND and what does it mean to unlock the NAND? What is an RUU? SPL? Where do the WiFi and 3G radio images sit? PC36IMG.zip? PRI?I've seen some of this explained elsewhere but I don't understand how they all fit together.
