I did the ran the EVO update this morning and tried Pandora immediately after and the sound quality is much better on the "normal" setting.Seems to be back to pre-froyo update before it got @#$@ up.Is anyone else seeing this after running the update.

I want to update my radio so I can install the latest sky raider Rom.I remember reading that once you update the radio you will be stuck with it.My question is if VZW's OTA has a slightly different radio in it will I still be able to install that one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my Droid but I frequently use Pandora and Last.FM on my computer at work. Last.FM - Seems like the service has a better list of artists than Pandora so i switched to it on my PC recently. On Android the service is the same but as an app it tends to be open in the background all the time and suffers from not being able to pause (like the PC version). The scrobbling could be nice for some users and it links to the android player. Sound Quality seems excellent, best of the three so far. Pandora - Haven't gotten to use it too much because it takes so long to load my station. Sound Quality seemed fine with my limited use.
Slacker Radio - Has the most music options of the three and seems likes the best application. It has plenty of options like keeping the screen from freezing while plugged in and on wifi without having to change your phone settings. Had to stop listening from poor sound quality though! Sound Quality started ok but a bassy boom and click started appearing after a few songs, forced to switch to Last.FM.
Does anyone know a way to listen pandora radio outside USA,on htc desire of course?

Tried a bunch of different stations and same thing, with major lag and disconnects. I guess I found the answer, Froyo support TuneWiki does not work on FroYo (partly)

View 11 Replies View RelatedOn my Inc, when I played the FM radio or Pandora, my ear buds have a button which pauses or mutes the player. With the DX, when I use this same button, it automatically brings up voice commands and is asking for a command while the music still plays in the background? Anyway to disable this so it just mutes or pauses? It appears that the settings for the voice commands are taking over and I don't know where to change them. I can not delete or uninstall the voice command settings since I use the voice to text.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently my DROID updated, and since then my PANDORA radio and Youtube have not played on my phone. It will say unable to retrieve music from Pandora, and youtube it will say unable to play videos.
I have done all updates for the apps, and still nothing.
So you have a car that had the free XM radio for 6 months... The free 6 months runs out, and you dont actually purchase XM... So you have an unused XM stereo. There's a way you can use the XM inputs on your stock car stereo to be able to listen to your digital music from that stock head unit.
Bottom line is... you gotta have a car stereo with an XM hookup that is inactive and you don't plan on using it again.
It would take a little digging on your part for your car model...
Mine is a 2006 GMC Canyon. Here is the instructions I used to accomplish this: (Thanks to canyonfans.com ):

This radio has two buss connectors on the back, the one coming from the XM tuner has 5 wires going to it. They are purple, bare(wrapped with tape), black/white (common), brown/white (left channel), and green/white (right channel). Since I never intend to subscribe to XM radio (the following procedure will disable the audio channels coming from the XM tuner) I tied my mini-stereo jack into this connector.
Remove the connector from the back of the radio and cut the black/white, brown/white, & green/white wires. Cap each of these wires that go back to the XM tunner (hidden elsewhere in the vehicle). On the connector side you simply connect the left channel from the Ipod to the brown/white wire, the right channel to the green/white wire and the common for both channels to the black/white wire. Plug the connector back into the radio.
Now plug the the stereo mini-jack you just wired to the connector to the headphone output on the Ipod. Tune the radio to either XM1 or XM2 band and you will hear the Ipod if it's on and playing. I didn't see the need for a line-input signal booster either, it was plenty loud.

So what I did was take a 3.5 mm stereo jack (obviously the one that fits the incredible.

Basically its like:
Plug XM Stereo Bus Connector
tip ........................... Left Channel ........ brown/white
ring .......................... Right Channel ...... green/white
sleeve ...................... Common Ground .. black/white
After cutting the 3.5 stereo wire, there'll be 2 insulated wires, and a whole bunch of strands... the bunch of strands is ground (sleeve). There was a red and white wire, the red if I recall was LEFT, and the White wire was obviously right.
Simple 10 minute solder job, and voila! MP3 music, pandora, radiotime.com , etc whatever... from your incredible right through your stock XM equipped car stereo!
Your mileage may vary, I accept no responsibility for you blowing up your stereo, or worse, your incredible, ipod, or other cell phone...
Just saying, it worked like a champ in my case!
Pandora on my phone sucks. It skips and clicks and jams up all the time. I've even force closed, then un-installed, then re-installed it, and I still have the same problems. My brother has a Droid and he says he uses Slacker all the time on his phone so I decided to try it.. It works PERFECTLY! No more skips and horrible noises while I try to listen to the radio on my phone and it works in the same concept as Pandora.
I just wanted to share this with anyone that has the same issues that I have with Pandora and really would like to be able to listen to the radio on their Moment. BTW, i thought that it would use a lot of battery, but it really doesn't seem to. I also got a little cable on ebay that has two male ends like a headphone jack. I plug one end into the headphone hole on my phone and the other end into the "aux" hole in my truck, and it works GREAT through my truck's stereo system.

I recently attempted to download an update to pandora on my motorola droid, and it completed download but gave a download unsuccessful error message, when tapping on it, it brought me into the market and told me the package was not signed correctly.
My question is, is it hitting everyone or is it just me? and if its just me, anyone know how to fix it?
So I used to be able to have google navigation running, pandora or slacker in the background playing music, and even take a call or two all at the same time.
When navigation spoke some directions, the music would halt just for the time being then play right away once directions were done.
NOW, however, I'm guessing due to the froyo update - if I have pandora playing and navigation running, directions comign up halts the music as before, but instead of resumign automatically, I have to manually go back into pandora and hit play again. Even worse, in slacker, it will pause the music, but when it "resumes" it does so by skipping to the next song!
Has anyone experienced this change or does anyone know what I can do to get things back to normal (except remove froyo if even possible). I like the other changes froyo brought other than this one.
I could have sworn there was a tab for lyrics in pandora but I cannot find it anymore. Was I hallucinating?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter installing the ota froyo update, I am having problems running Google nav and pandor. Whenever the nav gives directions, Pandora pauses. Before the update, it would mute then unmute Pandora when it was giving directions.
This is a pita b/c I have to keep unpausing Pandora after each direction. Anyone have a solution?
Just wondering if the latest update for Set CPU broke anyone's phone and required a n android backup to be performed? I got the update last night and the phone started running really hot. This morning, no matter what kernel I installed it wouldn't go any higher than 528mhz. But the temp was at 90-110F just sitting there. I un installed...did battery pull...rebooted and re-installed with the same results. Only way to get the phone over clocked again was to revert to the backup I did before doing the upgrade. Not sure if I had something weird happening, or if others have seen a problem with the latest update.

I am currently running it on WiFi to get a faster connection, but when I try to stream live, the shortest delay I can get is about 30 seconds. Worse than that, when I try to watch the feed, it just constantly tries to buffer and it is almost impossible to watch. I've tried it about once a week for the past month, but the same thing keeps happening.

Since I've already rooted, and can use Hboot, can I simply copy the new zipped ROM to my SD Card, and install it through Hboot, or do I have to do through the whole rooting path again?
