I am having major battery draining issues with my phone, i have read about all the tips and tricks and trying to get to the bottom of it, but nothing seems to be working. I read that doing a factory reset might work for the situation. I just want to make sure that if i do that, that my phone will still remain unlocked to any carrier I want.

Any other way than going to recovery and wiping data/factory reset in order to unlock the cell becausei have much important data in my phone in internal sd.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II, running Cyanogenmod in an early version of Kit Kat (4.4).
My internal SD card is a little odd as in that it has an emulated SD partition inside of it (though I'm not totally sure if it's inner workings). This happened after I first installed Cyanogenmod. What do I need to have ready before the reset? (I want to install the carbon Rom on my phone).
Just ran reset on my phone twice...it rebooted and nothing was removed! Never seen this before anyone have any thoughts? I'm on CM 5.0.7.1, and haven't seen this behavior before on that or any other ROM. Gonna boot into recovery and do it manually.

View 1 Replies View RelatedGalaxy s2 sgh t989 rooted followed all steps.I ran hc-ktool to backup efs.img and efs.tar.gz. I have not flashed any ROM for fear of turning my s2 into a paper weight. I downloaded root browser from play store to try and look deeper. That is when i noticed my efs folder was empty. I have been scouring my files but feel like a blind man looking for a needle in a haystack.
i still have a good imei and broadband version...everything seems okay. I am reluctant to do anything for fear of bricking. I no longer have lockscreen or power off menu either.Can i reset the phone to factory default and restore my efs? If so, do i have to unroot my phone?
I was trying to root my HTC One V and i unlocked the bootlocker,however that resulted in factory reset of my phone.Whenever i installed an app on my phone i always moved it to sd card via settings-->apps.I assumed that once my phone restarts after factory reset it will read the apps in the sd card but it is not so.The phone does read songs,pictures and contacts stored on my sd card and the sd card does have the folder of each app but how do i install it from the sd card?

Since the fairly recent 2.3.5 update with Sense 3.0 I have found that I am regularly seeing Sense restart upon exiting an app and returning to the home screen. This is not related to a particular app, as it can happen when returning to home from ANY app. My wife is seeing the same behaviour on hers too.
Having posted on both HTC's & Orange's Facebook pages, I have been advised in no uncertain terms that as a first step I should perform a factory reset.
This is something that I have not done since I got my DHD (my 1st Android - plenty of hard resets on WM ). I have had a bit of a tidy up - clearing unnecessary data, uninstalling apps I don't use, etc. Pretty much ready to reset (but aware that there is SOME data that I will lose). However, there is one thing that I am unsure about...
I have previously moved a number of apps to the SD card. If I leave them there, will the existing data be recognised upon reinstalling the apps? Or will it cause me problems? Or will the existing data just be orphaned? I.e. should I move all apps back to the phone before performing the reset?
i think i deleted the wrong files and now my phone won't go back the "HTC ONE" screen. I've done the process of a recovery and then allow the red triangle to come up, from there i know i should hold power + Up, and that should take me to a black screen with blue letters, and i should select something about "partition" but this black and blue screen, i remember seeing it as a thumbnail in a folder i deleted. I thought it was an ad photo saved onto my phone as spam (as the folder was named adSOMETHING) and so i deleted it and now, i feel i have have screwed myself over. I have no way of getting another phone right now. How can i get my laptop to read my phones connection and allow me to copy and paste the files needed to get it running again?

Now I try to delete a thread with even 20 and it force closes or freezes my phone. I am sick of it and I have tried everything, I was even close to taking the phone to the store and getting a different phone. I don't want to spend the money or waste any more time trying to delete these messages so.

I turned it off and then wasn't able to turn it back on, so I took it off the charger (wall outlet) and held down the power button. Phone turned back on but was in setup mode, everything was gone, settings email programs, everything. I decided to restart it one more time, everything came back.

If I try it, the phone reboots and locks into a boot loop. I can pull the battery, but then it boot loops again. I've basically got to boot into recovery mode and reflash a usable ROM or backup to get the phone working again. Is this because I'm rooted or is this because of the ROM I'm using (Skyraider)?

My question to the brilliant minds here, If I factory reset and wipe data will it unroot my Eris? I'm selling my Eris tomorrow and advertised it as rooted. I just want to make sure it will still be rooted once I reset/wipe to remove all my info, contacts, etc. P.S. The manual; says that when I switch on for the first time quote 'the phone displays tutorials and guides you to set up your email accounts and favorite social networks such as Facebook�, YouTube�, and Twitter�. You can follow the onscreen instructions to complete the setup, or skip the setup and do it at another time. This didn't happen when I switched on. Will it happen if I do a factory reset?

My pic sending capabilities have stopped before when I got the froyo update and the only thing that fixed it was a factory reset. So now, not sure I am going crazy, but my phone seems slower. Just unlocking with the puzzle piece has a lag and moving from screen to screen seems to be slower.Should this be possible?
