Ive set up my htc hero to receive the emails from my yahoo account, however it seems to be importing in mail from the spam folder of the yahoo account as well. anyway i can stop this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedNot got the phone yet.. but it looks good.. as an Apple fan i love the Iphone but im not willing to change carrier or pay what they want.. so i think the hero is my best option.. What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...
View 21 Replies View RelatedWhenever I leave a wifi zone and the phone switches to mobile data I get annoying notification messages/bong from the stock email app that it "can't sign in to Yahoo mail". If I follow the notification it says the username/password is wrong which is obviously crap because it has no trouble getting mail over wifi.
View 12 Replies View Relatedi set up my yahoo account on my galaxy with 1.6 and everything is working perfectly, except that when i log in online, all my mail is marked as read.basically every time the phone goes and gets the new email is marks them as read on the server/webmail.I primarily check my mail online as opposed to the phone so this is a big problem. i've gone through the settings of both the default mail client as well as K9 and i cant find anything to change this behavior.i have yahoo mail plus and have also looked through the prefrences in my yahoo mail options.does anyone have an idea on how to use pop mail while keeping unread messages as unread on the server?

View 42 Replies View RelatedI have just replaced my old phone with a new HTC Hero. Is there a way of importing all my contacts from CSV onto my HTC Hero without uploading them to googlemail? I was hoping there would be some software that i could install onto my PC, which would allow me to transfer the contact details across. I don't really want to manually type then in on the HTC Hero, although i don't mind cut pasting from my CSV file into some appropriate software - if such a thing exists.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from a five year old phone, so apologies in advance. The geeks at Best Buy set up my email for me which works fine (after multiple trips back to the store). Except that I can't figure out how to do a couple of things. 1. Is there a way to select and delete multiple emails on the phone and 2. How do I get rid of all my spam mail that comes in on the laptop (and gets filtered out there). Do I have to set up some kind of email push program so that the email comes in from my computer (already filtered) instead of from the server? You can see my learning curve is steep.........

View 49 Replies View RelatedI've searched quite a bit and haven't been able to find anyone else with this problem.I've been using the built-in Mail app on my Hero for the last month with my Yahoo e-mail account (it's a Plus account, using the POP settings provided by Yahoo)...with zero issues. Yesterday, I noticed that I wasn't receiving new messages anymore. I've got the program set to update every hour, and even when manually clicking refresh, the phone would not download any new e-mail messages from my account (and wouldn't send either). There were no error messages though, it appeared to be synced up (the time would show up next to the sync symbol in the top left corner of the app.I knew my settings were correct, so I figured I would just try to delete the account and set it up again. I selected "delete account" and after giving confirmation, the message on the screen said that it was deleting the account but it never finished. The program wouldn't do anything, figured I'd try to force it to close with my task killer but Mail didn't even show up as running. Next step...shut the phone down and powered it back on. Opened Mail up and the account was no longer showing, however there is still some memory of it somewhere as when I attempt to set it up again it tells me that there is already an account with that e-mail address.I can get around that by setting up a new account and changing one character in my address until all the settings are entered in (and then go back and change it), but I'd like to find out if I can address this problem head on (without a hard reset).

I alsohave my yahoo account set as default. When I set it up I assume it was done properly hence the reason I can receive the mail if I refresh it myself ...are there any other settings that I may be missing?

I am a Yahoo PLUS member, so I set it up as the yahoo mail site said to (plus.pop.mail.yahoo.mail etc). When I do a manual mail check, it takes FOREVER to download the emails! What is going on here? gmail is super fast to download, but the yahoo takes 5 minutes sometimes. i dont understand. I dont want to use the IMAP either.

When mobile network is off and WiFi is enabled, I cannot retrieve my Yahoo Mail. It has never really bothered me, because when mobile network is connected and WiFi is off, my mail app (which is connected to Yahoo - I don't use Gmail) worked perfectly fine. Does anybody else use Yahoo as their email server and has the same issue? Is it just Google sticking it to their customers and to Yahoo by saying "ok, if you wan't to use our (#1 competitor's) email service, then we will make it so it will only work on Mobile Networks.

I just went to the email widget, typed in my email address and password, and it autoconfigured the imap settings. Worked like a charm. Yesterday it decided to "authentification failed, please verify your username/password"
Well, although my un/pw were right, I changed my pw just to be sure I wasnt being a dumbass, no luck. I googled the problem and heard some people changed to pop3 so I tried those settings, no luck. I even tried changing my preferred location to asia, lol, no luck.
I see this has been a problem for a LOT of people since the beginning, but whats really bothering me is I had yahoo for a month...problem free. So whats the deal with this? I am NOT paying for yahoo. this crap makes me crabby!
I receive spam emails and would like to send them to my spam folder from my Incredible however I don't know how to do this. I usually need to wait to get to my computer to do this. Is there a better way so I can do this from my Inc? I have both yahoo and gmail coming to my Inc. It's usually only the yahoo spam that gets through. So thoughts on the yahoo spam?

I have no idea where these images have come from as they're all broken files, but every time I try to delete the folder completely, it reappears immediately. View 3 Replies View RelatedThe GMail-App on my Xoom and my Nexus S (both with Android 4.0.3) is driving me crazy. In former times I could easily report mails as no spam.
That doesn't work anymore. Instead I guess it should be possible to mark the mails and label them as "Inbox". But that doesn't work, either. With some luck, it works with 1 or 2 mails, but the rest stays in SPAM, even though at first they disappear from the spam-folder.
Isn't there a way to do that? Why is there no real option to mark the mails as no spam?
Sorry if this has Been asked a million times but can I add a yhoo mail account to the android mail app? I have tried various settings in the manual add section but can't add a yahoo mail account. would much prefer not to use the yahoo mail app from the store!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out whats going on. I have 2 DI for myself and girlfriend. I have my email (gmail and yahoo) setup through the HTC Mail Client and they work fine. I setup my other phone the same way and it worked fine, but once the yahoo account completed the process of downloading the inbox, I got an Authentication Error stating the login was incorrect. The login is not wrong and works fine to login via the standard web page. I tried to delete the Yahoo Account on the HTC, but when I went to setup again I had the same issue. Not sure how or why this could be happening. Any advice is appreciated. Also verified all the yahoo email settings on my working device and they are all the same on the other device with the issue.

Mail app that was recently put in the Market, I have been using the stock mail app to check my Yahoo! mail.Last night when I checked my Yahoo! Mail through the stock mail app, I was getting weird error messages. Most of the time it would go ahead and put me in my Yahoo! inbox but there would also be a message saying "login failed." I would click OK and then go about my business because e-mails were coming through. I figured it would sort itself out at some point.This morning, it was still doing it and it was annoying, so I re-booted the phone. Same problem. So I decided to delete the account and re-install it (a few weeks ago I had some issues with my Exchange mail account and deleting then re-installing fixed them.)Now, when I try to re-install the account it says "Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password." I have tried it over and over. I know I am using the right username and password - I just used them on my desktop PC to get into the account. And my Yahoo! Mail app still works on the phone.Anyone have any ideas what has happened and/or how I can fix this? I really want to continue to be able to check my Yahoo! mail on my phone without having to use the Yahoo! app.
