General :: How To Make Screen Stay Black On Notifications / GS4

1) How can I make my phone not turning on the screen when it is locked and i get an sms (via the built it messages app), but light the led light with a custom color (and of course, play a tone). I've tried "LightFlow" but it didn't work, the screen has still gone on when I got an sms.Mention that with 3rd party apps (e.g. whatsapp and wunderlist) the thing works great, the screen is black, the led is on, and the air molecules near the speaker start oscillating harmonically.
2) I know that even without any sdk manipulation, my phone still lets me move some downloaded apps to the sd. I had downloaded a 1.5 GB game and kept in mind that I use 3.5 GB of my internal storage. Luckily enough, this game is movable. I moved it to the sd card, and after the process had been done, I checked how much storage I use on my internal storage - 3.5 GB.The button changed to "Move to device storage" but it seemed that the game had not transfered at all.Mention that I tried the "adb shell pm setinstalllocation 2" thing, and it didn't fix it, so I reversed the process with the "adb shell pm setinstalllocation 0" command.

Several times now my Desire's screen has just stayed black when pressing the power key to unlock it. It's like it's in a deep sleep with no way to wake it. If you call it the screen will not light up but the phone will either ring with no way of answering it or just flash the missed call light. The call can still be silenced or rejected with the buttons.
So my question is this a hardware or software issue? I'm inclined to think software because pulling the battery then rebooting solves it, until it happens again, sometimes the same day others a few days later. I always switch the phone off at night to give it a fresh start each day. I do not use any task killers or obscure apps. Phone has minimal virgin mobile UK branding on it, and running firmware 1.15.405.4 with no option to update to the newly released version.

I've been playing with my camera today, and finally figure out how to take decent pix, but after scrolling through my album, I tried to go to the camera again, but now everytime I try the screen is black. And it stays black even after I remove my battery. A few times, I couldn't even get to home--the screen just stayed black.
Now it's still black when I go to the camera, but at least I can access home without having to remove my battery. I called Bestbuy and they said I can exchange, but I'm afraid I might get one with a messed up GPS. :-( Will Bestbuy fix it or make me exchange? Will Sprint fix it even though I'm still in my 30-day trial?

I used to own an HTC Magic, and whenever I used the GPS the "My Location" blue dot would always stay in the middle of the screen, like a real GPS.I now use a Telus HTC Hero, and not only does the screen not follow the blue dot, it turns the screen off after a minute. How do I make it so that it stays on and follows the blue dot?

Ive noticed when I put the Droid to my ear to make a phone call... the screen goes black... then it takes a couple seconds when i pull it away for the screen to re-appear.... How do I stop that from happening?

How do you make the task bar at the top of the droids screen a different color. I tried the themes in the market that showed a black taskbar but no luck with any of them actually changing the color of the task bar.

i had to replace the LCD and digitizer on my incredible and now it is unresponsive to touch and trackball. the black clip on the left with foam bar tape wont snap down like the other three, so i'm guessing that is the problem.

I just unlocked/rooted/installed Cyanogen on my Motorola Atrix. I'm looking for a theme that will make menus black-on-white instead of the default white-on-black. The closest that I've found is the JAMT White theme, but the settings screen is still all white-on-black, even in the paid version.

I've got a new Sony Z1 Compact (Great phone by the way!)I wanted to make use of the magnetic charging port so picked up a dock, a couple of cables and a couple of USB -> Magnetic charger adaptors.The cables works absolutely fine and charges away very happily.My dock, and my USB -> Magnetic charger adaptor however both try to put the device into Dock mode.
That in itself works OK, but the problem comes when I want the screen to stay "OFF".The phone will constantly wake itself up - about once every 90 seconds or so.The screen comes on, and then times out and goes black again.It's almost as if someone was pressing the "power" button.
As I was writing this I have been trying using the "Daydream" feature to just show a black image.This also doesn't work... every 90 seconds or so it will return to the home screen before fading back to the daydream screen.

I received a notification with a web-link and as part of the notification there was a confirmation number.
So I clicked the link right from the notification and Dolphin opened to the site. When I needed to enter the confirmation number, and my "notification area" was now cleared out. How can I recall this notification to get the number?
I never explicitly cleared the notification, I just navigated from it and when I tried to go back it was gone.

Cut a small 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch square of black tape and place it over the light sensor in the upper left corner just to the left of the verizon logo and the soft key lights stay on when the screens on and they turn off when you turn the screen off. Works perfectly and really doesn't look that bad.

On one of the home screens or scenes, whatever, i had put the 30 day month view HTC calendar widget. it synced with the Google calendar just fine and there was a little triangle in the upper left corner of the box for the days that had an event. however, they only stay once i reload the widget. and after a little while they go away, but if i pick a day, my events are still there. i really like that the little triangle. how do i make it stay? is there another app or widget that will allow a full month view with the little triangle or similar mark for days with events?

I know the attribute which makes the text "disapear" on the left part of the Edittext to maintain a single line, (singleLine="true"). But my issue is when I fill the edittext before the view is displayed... in this case, my edittexts are all going out of the screen.

I frequently find myself using the MAPS app (not the navigation) but after a few moments the screen turns off. Is there an easy way to make the screen stay on when I am using maps. Perhaps a "stay on app" or a setting somewhere. This is an issue in the car when I'm using the map and the screen keeps turning off, I know I can manually set the timeout up to 30 minutes but that's a pain and I have to remember to set it back afterwards.

My HTC One X Plus fell down recently, and has got a ' triangle flag' like mark on the top left part of the screen. (But not on the Gorilla Screen). But each day, when I see it, the black mark getting disappeared , as forming lines in the triangle flag (the original screen getting viewed through the lines).
When I try the phone screenshot option, the complete screen is captured with no black mark on it.
When I contacted the service center, they asked me to replace the screen. That is very costly
Is it really needed to replace the screen or will it get disappeared eventually?

I am running cm7.03 with lordmodue6.7 on my htc inspire 4g. I just went to look at a video on youtube and noticed that their was no visual just audio. I uninstalled it then installed, but no luck. Afterwards i decided to check all other apps that play video like vevo and same problem. I uninstalled adobe flash player then installed it, but ALSO NO LUCK =[. I then checked youtune on my browser and same problem..

I Have a galaxy note 2 n7102 (Clone).I have rooted it 2 days ago.i have the android stock boot animation but when i added a custom boot animation, when i rebooted the screen goes black and then the phone starts up
I tried to put it in system/media and data/local and change boot animation and Samsung in system/bin and reboot but nothing happens.

My Galaxy S4 screen is just completely black. I can turn on my phone and even put in my pattern code on the screen, but it remains black. I have tried to reset it multiple times and I don't really know what to do. Any possible fix without having to get a repair.

I have an HTC Droid Incredible LTE 4 and for the most part it's fabulous...
But when I'm talking on the phone the screen goes black and if I try to unlock it to schedule something in my calendar, etc., the screen just goes black over and over and won't stay active long enough for me to unlock the screen. This is exceedingly frustrating since I can't use any apps when I'm on the phone, and I have to push the button on the top to get the screen to light up at all if I'm on the phone, it doesn't automatically light up if I take it away from my ear to look at something on my phone.

My Tablet shows black screen after a while animation android logo and no more work. So I tried factory reset. But factory reset doesn't proceed to recover menu. It shows only factory reset logo (Android logo with red triangle) like screenshot.
My tab has only 3 button (power, Volume up and down). I tried both of them. But the logo doesn't move. How to factory reset?

I'm trying to build CWM for the HP Slate 7 Plus, but both touch and non-touch builds coming from the CWM Builder and manually built builds give a black screen with a few white lines when booted into recovery. The stock recovery.img I provided to the builder is valid because people were able to reflash the same recovery.img via Flashify with no issues, which is the same method used to flash the defunct CWM. I don't have the Slate 7 Plus, so I can't test things myself
The best I can do right now is debloat, deodex, and pre-root ROMs, as well as install more system apps.

! i was trying to install a new custom ROM ( C.A.M.P ) i had Cyanogenmod 10... i came to where i flash the new rom on my computer then when i wanted to fastboot reboot to install zip on phone, my computer shuts off, now when i turn my phone on it lights up black and stays like this and i cant do anything(no CWM no nothing) so i remove battery to turn off....
