Anyone else experiencing problems with long SMS conversations (20+ messages)? Firstly it seems that intermittently I cannot scroll back through the conversation. If I exit the conversation and go back to it enough times it'll eventually allow me to scroll through.Additionally, when composing a message on a long conversation the keyboard suffers quite bad lag.Is this just me and has anyone found a fix?

Two issues that are bugging me...
1) Is there a way to avoid notification sounds to take place during media playback, mainly music player, without having to change my sounds profile to silent, or vibrate?
2) All of a sudden my phone is taking a little long to load SMS conversations. Is there a way to fix that? I feel as though my Snapdragon shouldn't lag when I open a text.
i have been playin around with my hero and im a big texter and noticed theres an issue with my text messaging.. when i go to the programs, then hit messages and get into the "All messages" main screen i always only have one person listed (usually the first text i received) and like 50 texts...but the catch is, ill have received texts from maybe 5 different people...so instead of 5 different conversations/people listed on the "All messages" main screen ill have one person and all the conversations from all the different people will be in that one thread.no huge deal right? wrong...if i try to text the last person that texted me it will go to like the person that texted me 20 minutes ago and all sorts of random ppl that had texted me through out the day...its super annoying im guessing this has to be a bug because under all messages i would assume it would seperate by people.

The part I don't see is usually the quoted text, so it isn't that big of a deal.However, there are some forums where I get instant email notification of a new post on a thread. The link in the email to go to the thread isn't shown as a clickable URL. If I am receiving the first notification email, it is fine, I can click on the link. But when there are multiple replies, even though I delete old notifications, it still shows up in a conversation view and won't let me click the URL.So, my question is: is there a way to view the entire message in a conversation thread? Currently I have to either switch to the HTC mail app and download via IMAP or go to the GMail's mobile webpage.
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody else besides me also like the way the iPhone and Palm Pre both place the photo (or text "balloon") of peopl on alternate sides of the screen during text messengering and IM chat conversations? It really gives a nice sense the "back and forth" of real life conversation...and to also help distinguish one's own comments from those of the person one is conversing with...particularly if there's no actual photo in the phone book to show the person (you can still see the back and forth pattern Seems like such a great idea and so simple to implement! Why the heck can't they do that on our Android phone?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI see that the GSM 2.1 update is now finally doing the rounds (so many people must be so happy right about now), and I was thinking of joining them. Currently on a VillainROM (6.0.1) which is not bad ... but I want the official 2.1 from HTC ... which by reading around, it looks like I'd have to downgrade to stock 1.5 before upgrading OTA to 2.1 ... a right mess about.
I want to retain root access though (for backups primarily), so it looks like a repack is the way forward. How long could I expect to wait before one becomes available for download?
I'm not after a developers "spin" on 2.1. I'd just like stock GSM 2.1 from HTC with root access. Will it happen?
In the address book, entries that have long addresses are getting cut off. How can I see all the address without going into edit mode?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was really dissapointed with the performance of my battery in the hero, even when i turn off wifi and stop my apps from using the network it still drains so fast! so, i thought i would try turning off 3G so it uses 2G just to test and see if it makes a big difference..
It does.. Its far better now.. i dont really see a speed difference using 2G either, granted the inetrnet isnt as fast but i dont hammer the internet anyway, only to check a few sites occasionally so i'll put up with a few seconds delay if it boosts my battery performance as much as it does!
I'm getting about 9 or 10 hours I heard some people are Getting 15-16 they must not use their phone alot.
View 37 Replies View RelatedOn my HTC Hero, when typing messages, I could always easily access characters like "?" and "!" and numerals by simply "long touching" that button. Very convenient. However, recently, that featured stopped working. I can no longer "long touch" the K-key and get a question mark like I used to.
Is this a setting that has been inadvertently turned off? If so, I can't find it.

View 12 Replies View RelatedFor quite a while now, people have been saying how long it takes for me to answer my phone, even though it's usually on my desk and I get there after a couple of rings.
So today I tested it out. I rang my mobile number from my landline, it connected and started ringing, but it got to about six rings before the LED on my mobile started flashing and a further two rings until it started ringing!
I'm on T-Mobile, but it seems to connect OK, just take a while to register on my phone. Obviously this isn't the end of the world, but I use my mobile for business and it doesn't make me look very good!
Tried before but didn't get no where as was not downloading as zip files , so question is have i got enough time tonight , how long will it take to to from start to finish

I've tried to delete the entire thread with her, but it just freezes up the program and I have to force quit it, and it won't delete the thread. View 35 Replies View RelatedI posted a thread about my battery life earlier this week, and I thank all the for the help! Here is another issue I am having that may be related. My phone takes forever to charge. Example: used my phone heavily this morning from 5:30 am till around 9am. Came home, battery was down to 15% or so. Plugged it into the AC charger around 10am, went outside and mowed the yard, etc. Finally checked the phone around 4pm, and it was still charging. Battery was showing 90% or so. Shouldn't it fully charge in around 2 hours or less? I did some research and found some people having charging issues after they upgraded to 2.1, which I did right after I got the phone. I did check with my local RS where I got the phone, and the guy I spoke with has a Hero, and his does not do this. He suggested I go to a Sprint store and have them look at it.

I worked a lot of hours and skipped a coiple before the last one. I flashed the update with a wipe, took 30min. first boot like it was supposed to. Takes 15 every time since. I've not found any mention of this in the forums. Is it just my phone or are there others?

I was on my main Home screen and just trying to figure stuff out and when I long press the menu key it brings up the onscreen keyboard. I figured it was for contact search or something, but it did nothing when I typed...or so I thought. Now everytime I back out to the Home screen a little transparent "window" displays with letters i first typed. I cant type new letters to display or even use the backspace key to erase. Any one know what Im talking about?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been having issues with pressing my Inc. say I want to choose the 1st conversation thread, I will press it and it will bring up a totally different conversation (sometimes the conversation I bring up is not even on the screen).Am I the only one with this issue? It is driving me crazy because on the go I have texted the wrong person a few times. I'm not even scrolling through conversations at the time, just bringing up the 'Messages' shortcut.

What I am asking is when I IM someone and they reply back, the persons reply goes on top of my reply. The IM's are out of order. I tried to reboot etc but it keeps happening. It just started maybe about 30 mins ago.
