There have been numerous times that someone calls me and my phone only rings once or twice before sending them to voicemail. But when I talk to them they say it had rang on their end lots of times before sending them to my voicemail. Anyone else having this problem and how can I fix it?

Just a quick question, i have set up my contacts to link to facebook accounts, linking their profile pictures to, however when any of the contacts call and their photo is displayed whilst ringing, it is quite fuzzy is this the same for everyone? i also tried taking a photo off the hero camera and using that instead, picture looked great in the viewer, but when i attach it to a person and they ring, its dead fuzzy again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone else experiencing problems with long SMS conversations (20+ messages)? Firstly it seems that intermittently I cannot scroll back through the conversation. If I exit the conversation and go back to it enough times it'll eventually allow me to scroll through.Additionally, when composing a message on a long conversation the keyboard suffers quite bad lag.Is this just me and has anyone found a fix?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI see that the GSM 2.1 update is now finally doing the rounds (so many people must be so happy right about now), and I was thinking of joining them. Currently on a VillainROM (6.0.1) which is not bad ... but I want the official 2.1 from HTC ... which by reading around, it looks like I'd have to downgrade to stock 1.5 before upgrading OTA to 2.1 ... a right mess about.
I want to retain root access though (for backups primarily), so it looks like a repack is the way forward. How long could I expect to wait before one becomes available for download?
I'm not after a developers "spin" on 2.1. I'd just like stock GSM 2.1 from HTC with root access. Will it happen?
In the address book, entries that have long addresses are getting cut off. How can I see all the address without going into edit mode?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was really dissapointed with the performance of my battery in the hero, even when i turn off wifi and stop my apps from using the network it still drains so fast! so, i thought i would try turning off 3G so it uses 2G just to test and see if it makes a big difference..
It does.. Its far better now.. i dont really see a speed difference using 2G either, granted the inetrnet isnt as fast but i dont hammer the internet anyway, only to check a few sites occasionally so i'll put up with a few seconds delay if it boosts my battery performance as much as it does!
I'm getting about 9 or 10 hours I heard some people are Getting 15-16 they must not use their phone alot.

However, recently, that featured stopped working. I can no longer "long touch" the K-key and get a question mark like I used to.
Is this a setting that has been inadvertently turned off? If so, I can't find it.

View 12 Replies View RelatedFor quite a while now, people have been saying how long it takes for me to answer my phone, even though it's usually on my desk and I get there after a couple of rings.
So today I tested it out. I rang my mobile number from my landline, it connected and started ringing, but it got to about six rings before the LED on my mobile started flashing and a further two rings until it started ringing!
I'm on T-Mobile, but it seems to connect OK, just take a while to register on my phone. Obviously this isn't the end of the world, but I use my mobile for business and it doesn't make me look very good!
Tried before but didn't get no where as was not downloading as zip files , so question is have i got enough time tonight , how long will it take to to from start to finish

I've tried to delete the entire thread with her, but it just freezes up the program and I have to force quit it, and it won't delete the thread. View 35 Replies View RelatedI posted a thread about my battery life earlier this week, and I thank all the for the help! Here is another issue I am having that may be related. My phone takes forever to charge. Example: used my phone heavily this morning from 5:30 am till around 9am. Came home, battery was down to 15% or so. Plugged it into the AC charger around 10am, went outside and mowed the yard, etc. Finally checked the phone around 4pm, and it was still charging. Battery was showing 90% or so. Shouldn't it fully charge in around 2 hours or less? I did some research and found some people having charging issues after they upgraded to 2.1, which I did right after I got the phone. I did check with my local RS where I got the phone, and the guy I spoke with has a Hero, and his does not do this. He suggested I go to a Sprint store and have them look at it.

I worked a lot of hours and skipped a coiple before the last one. I flashed the update with a wipe, took 30min. first boot like it was supposed to. Takes 15 every time since. I've not found any mention of this in the forums. Is it just my phone or are there others?

I was on my main Home screen and just trying to figure stuff out and when I long press the menu key it brings up the onscreen keyboard. I figured it was for contact search or something, but it did nothing when I typed...or so I thought. Now everytime I back out to the Home screen a little transparent "window" displays with letters i first typed. I cant type new letters to display or even use the backspace key to erase. Any one know what Im talking about?

View 8 Replies View RelatedSince I installed (might just be a coincidence but I did update Maps via the market) 2.1, Google Maps takes so long to update when showing directions. For example I'll be in one street and have walked to another and it will still show me in the previous street after 30 seconds or so later. Also I noticed today when using it, that the arrow wouldn't move and just stays in one spot but the arrow does change direction though.
I could have sworn it wasn't like this before and I could just use it like a real gps unless I've overlooked something.
Also I get the "Current location temporarily unavailable" message all the time when searching my location unless I tick the Use Wireless Networks in the Location settings of the Hero. When I had 1.5, I didn't need to do this and just used GPS satellites.
What am I doing wrong here?
My Hero takes a long time to connect to my home wifi. I usually go in to the settings and hit "Scan" repeatedly before it connects. Sometimes it fails connect, and I have to go into Settings to try again. Is there a way/app to scan automatically or re-attempt to connect again? Maybe there's something I'm not thinking of?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOne thing I'm really not liking about the EVO is the ringing/vibrating settings. When I have the volume all the way up I want the vibrating option to be turned off. When I set the phone to vibrate I want it to vibrate. But since I have that option disbabled I have to go in and activate the vibration for notifications. Plus I had to download sound manager to make sure my phone vibrates! Wow, this phone does almost everything, but this little thing is annoying as hell. Is there an app that will help with audio/vibration profiles?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an application for Android 2.2 that should send an SMS immediately when the phone starts ringing (under UMTS/GSM). I'm using the android.telephony.SmsManager.sendTextMessage for sending the SMS. The app is working fine under the emulator, i.e. when I call the emulator phone from another emulator, the SMS is sent instantly. However, when I'm testing the application on HTC Desire, the SMS sending only succeeds after the phone has stopped ringing. Is there anything that could be done about this or is it just a restriction of the HTC Desire device? Seems strange as it's working fine under emulator and it shouldn't be a restriction of the network..
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy wife just got the D2 a few weeks ago. It was working flawlessly. We put on a Azure case and Skinomi cover on the front screen 2 weeks ago. Starting last week she started to had a few of occasions it doesn't ring but goes straight to voice mail. Not always from the same caller. No unusual apps running. She also always has her Data turned off because she has the $15 dollar plan. She only uses the wifi's. She is not using Google voice. She is getting to the point that she is wondering if she should take her phone back because she has no clue who is calling because it does not say missed call she only knows if they call if they leave a voice mail.

The default one that you get with the phone i.e. If I don't turn it off then it will keep ringing indefinately. According to me, a normal alarm clock would ring for about a minute before putting itself on snooze. Sometimes the alarm won't stop ringing after I turn it off either, so then I'll have to turn off the phone.

When I go to Settings->Sounds & Display->Notification Ringtone and select from either Android System or any other ringtone program I try, any tone plays when I select it. But no tone for sms, email or notifications.

Well today I heard it again so I decided to check it out, so I called myself on my girlfriends phone and lo and behold I could hear myself on my Evo while it was ringing before I even touched the slide to unlock.

Now my phone will not ring and there is no media sound. I went into the menu and everything is on. I have not done anything to cause this issue. I reset the phone 2 times and still no sound.
