May 29, 2010I have no notifications, but it keeps flashing anyway. Any idea why?

Android :: Tracker Ball Flashing With Chompsms/Handcent
Nov 11, 2009I wud like to know if it's possible to get the tracker ball to flash when i get msgs with any of the txt msg software on the market namely chomp/handcent? I can only get it to work with the default app but not with the 3rd party software. Im a txt junkie n i think the flashing tracker ball is a great touch without turning ur fone on every time to chk.

Nov 2, 2009I've had the Hero since 10-29-09 and the scroll-ball light is always on, it never shuts off ... It's driving me CRAZY. Also; the light pulses very lightly. Like it has a short or something. I've checked all my messages, settings and I can't find the problem. Has anyone had this problem? How did you fix it? I don't really want to go to my local Sprint store because I'm sure they have no idea.

Nov 7, 2009All other directions work. Not sure if this was the case straight out of the box, as hardly use the mouse wheel / ball. Anyone know if this could be an 'out of calibration' problem that can be adjusted, or is it just broken? Have to admit dropping the phone once, but not that hard!

Sprint HTC Hero :: Way To Unlock Phone With Menu / Track Ball?
Nov 11, 2010I was using CM6 and it had an option that i could unlock the phone by double pressing the menu button or by pressing the trackball. Now I am back to Darchdroid v2.8 because i like it way better than froyo, but the only way to unlock the phone is by sliding the screen icon. Is there a way to re-enable that menu/trackball way of unlocking the phone? I am using launcherpro 8.1 as home screen, not sure if that makes a difference.

Mar 7, 2010I am trying to create a roller so that the user can select the amount of money they'd like to bet. So I created a list view and then put a transparent png over top of it to make it look like a little more fancy. Although it seems when I put the png over top of the listview I can longer see the list. I know this may seem like a far fetched idea, but I'm not sure if there is a better way to go about this.
Anyone know a way that I can create a rolling selector?

Mar 16, 2010I want to create a better NumberPicker then the one used in DatePicker, I looked at the HTC Sense Alarm clock Roller (Looks like the iPhone Spinner/Roller). I want to create something like that.
I've created a listView that looks right, but I need a way to get the current id of the middle row. ListView.getFirstVisiblePosition() kind of do what I want but it will give me +-1 errors. Another problem is that the scrolling should lock into a certain row when "dying" out. These are of couse related and I hope I can solve this by using a custom ListView, but it's hid in the API
Any thoughts on how to solve this?

Nov 12, 2010I cannot find a corresponding control anywhere. The control I am interested in is iPhone's spinner.
It's much simpler to use than Android's TimePicker.
Since I see that native Clock app has it, does anyone know how is that control called and how can one use it in his app?

Dec 31, 2009just got my 1st android device (HTC Hero) I got it in Taiwan so it has EN & CN. I tried installing compact QWERTY the install went well but I still cannot use compact QWERTY so I wanted to flash with a WWE ROM
I have rooted the device, did a backup, and can enter recovery mode.
I have also done MoDaCo unlocked SPL here
I also downloaded some untouched ROMs here but when I run the EXE I get a USB connection error.
Is my device now hard SPL (ala in WM where I can flash any ROM)?

May 8, 2010I've flashed SenseHero 2.1 & 2.2 over the last week or so, and as soon as SenseEspresso is ready I'm going to flash that one too. My question is, is there a quick way to get your phone back to the way you like it? I currently use mybackup pro & Titanium backup, and it takes me a fair chunk of time to reinstall all my apps and set up my homescreens.Any suggestions? What do y'all do?

Sep 19, 2010Using the latest CM6 RC1 stable release. Whenever i get a notification my track ball flashes, and wont stop flashing after i check the notification, until i put the phone to sleep. I am using handcent, and in the notification settings i cant access the trackball flashing setting, its dark and unable to be clicked.

May 26, 2010Been running Fresh 2.1.1 for about a week now and it seems pretty good. But with 2.1.2 just out I'm planning on flashing that as soon as possible. I've been running the stock radio and RA and wanted to get some feedback on weather it would be beneficial to update both the radio and RA to the newest versions available before I flash to 2.1.2. My awake time is at about 10% and cell standby is using 48% of my battery while phone idle is using 44%. Does this sound normal? If not would flashing a new radio and RA help resolve these issues?

Oct 14, 2010Im having problems with my sms vibrate being broken after flashing a new rom and rebooting it the first time. The sms vibrate may or may not work on the first boot, but afterwards it usually doesnt work anymore after another reboot. This happens on pretty much any rom, usually a hit or miss but its happened like 5 times for the RCMix rom ive been trying to put on. So just wondering if any of you flash maniacs can shed on light on what i could be doing wrong. Everything else works fine, only the sms vibrate. I know i have all the settings correct.
So this is the order of what i do when i flash a new rom.
Wipe everything
Partition sd card (0/512)
Flash rom zip file
Flash kernal
Boot (sms vibrate usually works)
Do some settings
Reboot (this is when the sms vibrate stops working, if works, next boot it wont)
HTC EVO 4G :: Way To Play Things Without A Track Ball?
Jun 27, 2010Ok here is another thing that gets me. I just got done trying some games that uses the track ball button to induce action. Of course we don't have one. Is there any way to play these things without a track ball? My preference is to not have a trackball but now it cripples some apps.
