HTC Hero : Sms Vibrate Being Broken After Flashing A New Rom And Rebooting

Im having problems with my sms vibrate being broken after flashing a new rom and rebooting it the first time. The sms vibrate may or may not work on the first boot, but afterwards it usually doesnt work anymore after another reboot. This happens on pretty much any rom, usually a hit or miss but its happened like 5 times for the RCMix rom ive been trying to put on. So just wondering if any of you flash maniacs can shed on light on what i could be doing wrong. Everything else works fine, only the sms vibrate. I know i have all the settings correct.
So this is the order of what i do when i flash a new rom.
Wipe everything
Partition sd card (0/512)
Flash rom zip file
Flash kernal
Boot (sms vibrate usually works)
Do some settings
Reboot (this is when the sms vibrate stops working, if works, next boot it wont)

So I never had a problem with my Eris's haptic feedback or vibrate when I get a text until I played with my friends Incredible. I really liked the haptic feedback and was wondering if there were a way to edit it either through an app or flashing a zip in recovery.

Can any one help with the following problem. I'd really appreciate it. This phone, as promising as it is, keeps giving me head-aches.On my HTC Hero all my contacts (they are all "Google" contacts) are duplicate. I deleted all contacts from GMail (they were NOT duplicate on GMail), have seen my HTC resyncing my contacts various times since (while in the Settings->Data Sync->Google Menu), but all 2000+ contacts remain in my phone.Obviously, I'm just trying to delete duplicates (why they suddenly appeared I do not know), but at the moment my phone seem not to sync at all.Can any one tell me how to delete ALL Contacts from my phone and then resync (after I reimport my GMail contacts)? Is there no other way to select each of my almost 3000 contacts manually to delete?

i rooted my phone around a couple weeks ago, and have been trying different types of roms. Today i decided to switch to the fresh2.0d rom and so i placed the zip folder in the root of the sd card. i booted in recovery and selected flash from zip. Once complete, my phone keeps rebooting at the "HTC Quietly brilliant" screen. It does it over and over again. i tried reflashing, taking out the battery and nothing happens. I cant connect to the computer and have no idea what to do.

Sometimes when my phone is on silent and I turn it off and reboot it, it plays all the start up sounds as its loading. Sometimes, it does not. I hate this, because at work (in a spa) I keep my purse in my cabinet, and I don't love for it to play a bunch of sounds when it is supposed to be on silent. This is the only thing that makes any noise when the phone is on silent, and its only sometimes.

Is there a way to get the hero to recognize new images added to the sd card without rebooting? I have downloaded some images via the app backgrounds, they are In a folder on the sd card but do not show up in albums. I know if I reboot they will appear, but is there not a simpler way of seeing them?

I had to change the housing for my HTC Hero GSM Unlocked, and though I believe I didn't break/crack or damage anything, especially the speakers, after reassembly my speakers are not working any more, no more audible ring tone, sound notifications. Everything else is working fine, and with earphones, I can hear everything. I even re dissembled it and couldn't find anything that was broken, or loose, or damaged. Can anyone anyone point me in the right direction please! OR anyone know where I can get a new HTC Hero GSM version internal speaker? I tried on eBay and couldn't find anything. are there HTC repair centers around NYC?

My HTC Hero have sd card slot broken. now i want to replace slot. i was told that only origional sd card slot of htc hero phone should be replaced to phone but here origional slot is not available..would an ordinary slot work?

I've changed the settings on the main settings and messaging settings several times, taken out the battery, reset the phone..It will vibrate for incoming calls, but not for texts.

Is anyone else's push email from Gmail broken? Mine is. I've played with the settings, restored to the stock rom, sent myself an email from the computer, but the notification never comes up. If I go into Gmail, the mail is sitting there for me to read though.

I just switched my contacts from Outlook to Gmail. No problem in doing that. I left the outlook contacts on the phone (just in case), but switched the View item in people to only show the gmail contacts. Whenever I make or receive a call now, the caller ID lookup always tells me I'm calling or receiving a call from one particular user, who is not the caller/callee. Clearly I need to clear a lookup cache, but which one? There are the following caches/data that might need to be cleared: Contacts Storage, Gmail Storage, People.

Greetings. Im new to android and have the htc hero. Is there any way to select 'vibrate all'? If i put the ringer on vibrate, it will do so when i get a call but when i get a sms, my phone gives no alert whatsoever. Is there a way to fix this at all?

All I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate

I have a Droid X with the OTA 2.2 rooted and when I put the phone in Vibrate the phone will not vibrate at all not for phone calls, text, or email? I have "MINI INFO WIDGET" and when I go in there to adjust the volume to vibrate it will work but then when I try to go back to Sound Profile I have to manually adjust the sound again? I have Vibrate Widget and when that is selected it goes to silent only. I tried Uninstalling MINI INFO and VIBRATE WIDGET but I still have the same result sooo it can't be the programs.

I have downloaded Handcent and love all the options that it gives. However, there are times when I set my phone on silent and do not want anything to vibrate. I have went through all of the settings and notifications and changed everything to "never" vibrate. But still when I receive a new message it does the 3 or 4 vibrate tones. I am sure I am over looking something, but I am gettng a little aggervated.

As the title says really, I cannot get my Hero to vibrate when I get a text message. In Messages > Settings > Vibrate, the option is ticked but even if I untick / restart / retick it still doesn't work. I've also tried pressing the volume button down to vibrate mode and back again but that makes no difference.I've even tried working with Handcent and yet I still cannot get the vibrate working. Everything else works such as the status bar notification but that's it.The vibrate part is definitely working for phone calls and other apps so I don't think that it's a hardware problem. Any idea what could be causing it? I'm using the latest official UK Orange ROM.

As much as i like being notified everytime i have a new email or tweet i'd rather not have my phone vibrate every time this happens, especially cos it does so at night... does anyone know how i turn this off?

Loving my hero phone, originally had the Samsung Galaxy but got fed up with the crappy support from Samsung
The one single thing which I find only very slighly annoying is how the phone vibrates when an outgoing call connects. Does anyone know if this can be disabled anywhere?

Is there any way of getting a stronger vibrate from the Hero. If I have my Hero on vibrate, many times I don't even know it's "ringing" because the vibrate is so soft. If I am wearing on my hip in the case I got, I generally don't feel it. I love the Hero, but the Blackberry had a more significant vibrate. Any ideas, or just live with it?

I like to put my phone on silent but keep the vibrate on. Does anyone know an app that does this. I'd also like to disable the volume controls at the side of the handset because I sometimes knock this and that turns the ringtone back on. Is this possible.

Is anyone familiar with the following problem. When my Hero receives a new email, the flashball notifices me about it, but the notification sound and vibrate do not work even though I have them both checked in the settings (the sound is also selected). However, when I receive a new sms message, all of them work perfectly.

I think I noticed a day or so after it actually started to do it...or not do it, rather.I've checked so many settings.It's set to vibrate in the actual settings. I set it to vibrate in handcent.I even turned on the stock messaging app to see if that would vibrate and nothing. I tried holding down end call to see if it would vibrate and nothing. The only time I've felt it vibrate is when powering on the phone.Anyone have any ideas? If not, is there an easy way to restore to factory defaults?

This thread is from sprint community but those guys were being an assholes so i moved it to here. so here we go!
My older phone is Sidekick 3, the vibrate on that thing is a monster. however the hero is so weak i could never feel anything not even if i place it on my skin of my leg. Vibrate is very important to me. I even wrapped my pant tight so it presses against my skin harder but nope! I'm seriously thinking about sending it back.
were anyone able to feel their phone vibrate? if so what pattern and how do you wear it?

How to disable the vibrate alert in the Hero when a call connection is established, ie when the person picks up the other end? It's only a small vibrate but I personally don't like it and would like to get rid.
