View 2 Replies View Relatedwhat's everybody's thoughts on the voice quality on the hero? I know on my last phone it was bad, and I haven't really had a chance to test it on the sprint hero, but I was wondering if anybody could offer me their take.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm sorry if this has already been asked. But i already searched. Every time i make a video it has horrible quality and the sound quality is horrible too. A 5mp camera should be able to have very good quality don't you think? My friend has the i phone and i'm pretty sure its not better than 5mp and its video quality is amazing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt seems that the new fresh ROM 2.3.3 has reduced the quality on pictures from the sd card assigned to a contact. Every time when i call i see that the picture is poor.
View 3 Replies View RelatedUnfortunately I thought of this after I updated but if anybody could post before and after of the camera quality in reference to the recent update.
View 4 Replies View RelatedBeen thinking about flashing a new radio for my hero but I'm just not sure what is a good signal or a bad signal. At my house my phone shows 2-3 bars and between 84-93db most of the time. Is that good? what should be a standard for evaluating signal strength? Sorry if this has already been done. In past threads i've seen posts re: decibals but none i've ever seen has stated what the norm/standard is or what a person should expect. As far as flashing a new radio I know its trial and error. I was just wanting to know what I should expect. TYVM in advance for your answers. BTW running Fresh 2.3.3 with his stock radio 1.04.01.09.21
View 14 Replies View RelatedDidn't wanna hijack the other thread, so I wanted to share some pics of the Innocase II that I received today. I used there products for my Curve (made it too bulky) and the 3GS (perfect case it was). Buying this case was a no brainer IMO since those silicon cases collect tons of dust. Best Buy gave a free OEM Hero skin and WOW it is a dust collector. This Innocase gives the device a better grip and makes it a touch thicker, which IMO makes the phone a better handheld device to hold. Also covers up the blah grey color. As you can see from the pics, the slider case is a great fit and gives a nice "lay on the table" design, which I love. Not much more to add, but for anyone looking for a case, this has to be the best case made for the Hero.
View 26 Replies View RelatedDon't know if any of u have noticed this or if I'm just super late but I just recently went into the YouTube app and was actually able to stream videos. I'd say out of 10 times the vid streamed 9. Though IM still having difficulty streaming in high quality.

My playback has the lowest quality I have seen in a phone in a long time. Pre had much clearer resolution. Is there a player in the market that helps with higher resolution?
View 12 Replies View RelatedAfter looking at Verizon store, Best Buy, Target, and Dicks sporing goods.A salesperson at a Verizon Kiosk at the mall told me that Verizon is designing an armband for the Droid that should be available this spring.I looked through all the threads here, as well as at all the stores listed, and cannot find one that fits the Droid. Many different Iphone armbands are just a bit too small and do not fit the Droid.
View 49 Replies View RelatedAnyone used a sports armband with their Moment? There are, of course, dozens made for the iPhone, but I wonder how well those would work with the moment. Some are likely rather generic, but then others are probably custom-fit to the iPhone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedToday at Sprint store I played the same YouTube video on the Hero and the Pre side by side. The Pre looked great, the Hero had a very low frame rate and poor resolution. I hope someone can tell me something was wrong with the Hero and it is not always like this.I am seriously considering buying a Hero and have been spending a lot of time at my local Sprint story getting to know it. Today I was trying out flash video on many sites and they all looked bad like I described above. I just assumed the videos had a poor source until I tried a YouTube video on the Pre. It is hard to believe all the reviews I have been seeing of the Hero wouldn't have hammered it for this if it were a common problem.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have had my Hero for a few days. My prior phone was the Palm Pre. The pre was a great phone and when webos 1.40 came out, video recording was great. The downside of the phone is that it felt that I was holding an egg and the overall build was horrible. Not to mention that the screen would go funky if it was used for more than 5 minutes. I went with the Hero because I love HTC phones. I've heard so many great things about it. I have issues with taking pictures and recording videos with this phone. The picture quality is horrible and so is the video recording. I have only recorded one video...its of my 5 year old singing (25 seconds) and it looks like she is possessed! It appears that the phone cannot keep up with movement. I know it doesn't have a flash and I know how to adjust the settings. Even in bright light everything appears washed out. Are there any fixes or 3rd party apps that could resolve this? Will the new 2.1 update improve things?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI joined the forum a week or so ago, just before I got my new HTC Hero on Thursday and it's taken me until now to drag myself away from it to visit the forum again.
As much as I'm addicted to the phone, I was a bit disappointed the sound quality wasn't great- comes out a bit 'tinny'. I got myself some Sennheiser CX 500 earphones and it seems now the sound it much much better.
I just wondered what other people's experiences were with the music/sound quality on the Hero...
Also, if it's not too much to ask further, what music player do you use? I've got Rockon and the default player and kinda like them both but neither are perfect...
My Hero has the latest ROM and is running on O2. when i get an MMS, the picture quality is terrible. i have been sent MMSs from different phones (inc. iphone) and different networks. The pictures look great on the phones on which they were taken, but appear low resolution when received on my hero. I can't find any setting to increase the quality. I do notice that when I open the received photo in albums, it is super tiny. So it looks like the Hero (or Android) is shrinking them. Are there some settings I can change? I can't find anything that appears relevant. Or else an app that will help?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when I'm on my mobile network connection (Orange) the quality of the videos in the youtube app are extremely low. However, when i'm connected to a Wi-Fi connection the video quality is very high.Does anybody know how to change the youtube app settings so that I can keep a high video quality no matter what the connection type?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis could just be me, but does anyone have bad picture quality on there contacts? example is i take a picture using the hero, and set it as a contact picture, and when its on there its blurry, just not clear as the photo that you see in albums, i have also used pictures that i have had before, and they are blurry as well, its like the hero blurrs it out, Apart from this i love my Hero, best phone ever made.
View 3 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings. If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero for a while and the other day video something. However, when replaying it back it stutters, especially on fast movement parts. Just wondered is there anything i can get from the market (for free) that can improve playback quality?

can someone tell me what is the best video converter to use and what settings to get the best quality for the hero?
Is there a better music player than the standard music player I've got with my Hero? The sound isn't exactly high quality, virtually no bass even with good headphones. Maybe there is an equalizer app that I can use to improve my sound quality?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI searched up Android 2.1 on Google and I Found a website with Sprint Hero - 2.1 leaked! "Website: Sprint HTC Hero Android 2.1 Upgrade Leaked" Rumors have been flying around the web about Spring releasing an official Android 2.1 upgrade for their HTC Hero mobile phone. The dates for the Android 2.1 upgrade for the Spring HTC Hero have been speculated to be either on April 29th, and others simply by the end of April. But according to BlogsDNA.com, hackers at XDA Developers forum have leaked a Sprint HTC Hero test ROM marked:
RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_2.20.651.1_signed_test The stands for Radio Unit Update, and is a common package that HTC phones of all kinds use, from Windows Mobile Phones to Android Roms.Without a doubt, the remaining days in the month of April building up to be full of high profile mobile phone announcements.Expected this month (April) are the HTC Incredible and Nexus One at Verizon, and now this, the Sprint HTC Hero Android 2.1 upgrade.
Rumors were also spreading about a possible iPhone / Verizon deal being announced. We ve already had the iPhone OS 4.0 announcement. And of course, I would be remiss to leave out the iPad announcement from Apple.
I recently rooted my phone and was wondering how to install custom themes and lock screens for my hero. I am new to this as the title implies, so a link/instructions on how to install/create these would be what I'm looking for. I also am looking for solutions that do not need to install a new ROM as I just want to mod the current one that I have since i haven't found one I like. I rooted the 2.27.651.5 official sprint software with the instructions from the xda forum here: [GUIDE] How to Root Sprint 2.1 Release for CDMA Hero - xda-developers.
View 1 Replies View Relatediv heard ppl who downloaded android 2.2 online and installed it themselves on there phone since its not being offered ota. but im wondering if its safe? the phone is not actually getting 2.2 ever, so doing this would be my own choice. but im wondering if it will run smoothly, better than 2.1 update 1, and if there will be any problems or if anything that may not work because of compatability problems with the phone. because some people have said that 2.2 isnt being released to the hero because the phone is not physically capeable of it do to software and hardware (such as space ram speeds etc.), and others have said they installed it themselves and it works fine, that its actually made to run using less space then 2.1 making it better.
