This could just be me, but does anyone have bad picture quality on there contacts? example is i take a picture using the hero,and set it as a contact picture,and when its on there its blurry,just not clear as the photo that you see in albums, i have also used pictures that i have had before, and they are blurry as well, its like the hero blurrs it out, Apart from this i love my Hero,best phone ever made.

When I set a picture for the caller id/contacts in my phone and that person calls or I call them the picture is crap quality. Why? How do I fix this? The factory Android picture is good quality, why are my phones pure crap?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Hero has the latest ROM and is running on O2. when i get an MMS, the picture quality is terrible. i have been sent MMSs from different phones (inc. iphone) and different networks. The pictures look great on the phones on which they were taken, but appear low resolution when received on my hero. I can't find any setting to increase the quality. I do notice that when I open the received photo in albums, it is super tiny. So it looks like the Hero (or Android) is shrinking them. Are there some settings I can change? I can't find anything that appears relevant. Or else an app that will help?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my hero about a week ago and since then I'm still trying to import my contacts from outlook, but no picture imported although in outlook they appear with picture. All my contacts with picture in outlook were backed up from my old iphone. I tried to synchronize my hero with those contacts, but no picture. After that i tried to export contacts from outlook in a *.vcf file, uploaded them into google contacts, but still no picture. Also another problem: i deleted all my contacts in google and then synchronized my phone with it, but instead of downloading them from the hero, it appears that google overwrites the phone contacts. Is there any way to overwrite google contacts with the phone ones? Or at least merge them?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave any of you have success sending a picture to multiple contacts at once? I use Handcent Sms for my texts. I tried once and it didn't send anything. All I saw was the little green icon to the right of the text loading and loading like it was trying to send it. I tried to send a pic to 3 people at once. I canceled the picture and tried to individually send the picture and it wouldn't do it. I had kill the app and turn my Hero off and turn it back on in order for it to work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFirst off the phone is not rooted or flash and I am using handcent. Now to the problem. If I'm looking st my contacts all the pictures show. However when I receive an incoming call or message the picture is not on there. When I receive a call it doesn't even show up on my caller id it just shows the number. I have updated the prl and profile from another issue that I'm still having trouble with. The longer I have this phone the more problems I'm having.

I have linked all my contacts with their facebook accounts but it still shows the default white picture. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded to the HTC Desire on T-Mobile and am experiencing some problems with image quality be it through browsing the internet in gerenal or even when looking at my images through facebook etc.
All the images seem to be pixelated and are not as crisp when I compare it against say my i-touch. I realise it will be different on differnet phones but I know the images should not be looking like this.
I took it straight back to T-Mobile shop I got it from and they did acknowledge that the images were unclear and pixelated but they said it was not a known fault with HTC or with T-Mobile. They gave me a brand new replacement and its happening on this handset too. Its a bit disappointing as effects the overall browsing experience.
I called HTC and they said that should not be happening and they said they hadn't heard of that fault but would collect it to look at it.
is it possible to have the Facebook profile picture of my friends be the picture displayed on my contacts? or do I absolutely need to upload a picture for every contact individually?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe dual LED flash on the EVO works well in moderately lit situations but when shooting in the dark the flash makes images extremely bright and washed out. I was messing around with the camera settings and was able to produce decent results by changing ISO, brightness, etc. but that's a pain. Instead, tape a small strip of plain white paper over the LED flash. It diffuses the flash and makes a huge difference.

I looked around on the forums before posting, and the issues i found similar to mine were on different phones, but i tried them anyways. Those threads suggested adjusting the flicker and Iso settings. messed with both, and there really wasn't a difference. I don't have the little plastic film on it either lol

Whenever I send a good quality pic as MMS, the person that gets the text gets a picture that has degraded in quality. I've tried texting myself a picture and confirmed that it is not the same quality. Any suggestions? I've already setup "no file size limit" in Handcents. The same thing happens with stock Messaging app.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen taking photo's this weekend that involved zooming in i found that the picture taken was never in focus. I have enabled the image stabilizer function but still whenever i zoom at all it is blurred (not sharp). When taking a picture that didn't involve zooming the image is sharp as you would expect from the camera. Is anyone having this trouble or is it just a dodge phone/camera i have and should go back to my supplier and exchange it?

Is there not a setting to show high res quality and to make it appear larger on the screen? I just switched from the Evo and know that it was a similar issue on there. just curious if there is a known work around for the Droid X. Other than that, I am very happy with this phone so far. The build quality is much much better than the Evo's.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am extremely happy with my DX. My only complaint is the quality of the camera in low light. Every picture I take looks grainy. At times the flash washes everything out. I know it's just a camera and I shouldn't expect much, but for such a great device that does everything else, it's a bit of a bummer. I want to set this picture as my Wallpaper. The problem is, when I select "Set As", the picture suddenly appears with a lower quality.
Here's the picture as it is, and then after I press on "Set As".
As you can see, in the second picture, the wallpaper has a lower quality. I didn't zoom in or anything, but somehow I cannot get the best quality (shown as I see it in my gallery), as soon as I try to set it as my wallpaper, the quality lowers.
I have two questions - they may have been answered already, but I'm still ever so confused. 1. I have managed to remove my facebook/twitter/google contacts from my People list, but they still show up when I go to the Phone thing on the home screen. I would like this to be the other way around - i.e. to have all my contacts on my People list thing, but just those on my phone sim come up when I go to the Phone button to make calls. Any suggestions very much appreciated. 2. The sound quality is hopelessly tinny when I make/receive calls. People can here me, but everything I hear is very distorted. Is this a problem for everyone, or do I have a faulty phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use to own a palm pre before I switched to HTC EVO. I think the evo is a great phone but the two things I missed so much about my palm pre is the camera and the sound qualities.
The EVO is said to use 8MP for its camera but honestly the camera quality is nothing compare to the palm pre. Simply put, the camera and the sound output on the evo sucks.
You can clearly notice the difference between the pictures I took using the pre and the evo. The pre gives far better picture quality and also better sound output. I always enjoy plays my sounds or using pandora on my pre, but with the evo the different is the case. The sound quality with the evo is horrible even when plugged to good speakers.
I bearly take picture with the evo because I am used to good picture quality with my pre.
I have had the evo for less than two weeks and i am seriously thinking of returning it because of these two issues.
I really want to know, is this poor picture and poor sound qualities a thing with the evo in general or is it just with the particular evo that I got.
Today at Sprint store I played the same YouTube video on the Hero and the Pre side by side. The Pre looked great, the Hero had a very low frame rate and poor resolution. I hope someone can tell me something was wrong with the Hero and it is not always like this.I am seriously considering buying a Hero and have been spending a lot of time at my local Sprint story getting to know it. Today I was trying out flash video on many sites and they all looked bad like I described above. I just assumed the videos had a poor source until I tried a YouTube video on the Pre. It is hard to believe all the reviews I have been seeing of the Hero wouldn't have hammered it for this if it were a common problem.

Any idea on what i can do to fix it or what i am doing wrong?
