Yesterday i found a HTC Hero lying around at the office, i asked by boss about it and he said that i could have it if i got i working.The problem is that when u turn it on, u will only see the "Hero logo" and get a small vibrator beep.This is anoying since the phone cant make a USB connection to my computer, so i cant use any official HTC flashing software, im therefore kinda limitet to placing files on the sdcard.

I try to get into recovery mode and it just locks on the HTC logo. I try and do a hard reset and it again locks on the HTC logo.

i am using sense 2.2 rom on my rooted htc hero with no problems on my 16gb microsdhc card. however when i used a kingston 32gb microsdhc i just purchased i can't seem to get it to work. i have formatted the sd card on my computer then i partitioned the card the same way i did with my 16gb card, then i partitioned ext2 to ext3 but when i restarted my phone with the 32gb card inside the screen was stuck on the htc logo. can anybody help please?

View 12 Replies View RelatedLast night, played a couple of rounds on Wordfeud and I'm assuming the battery went dead. Now I'm stuck on HTC screen when I boot up. Won't even show CM6 loadup screen. I charged it for a couple minutes and even booted into recovery with no luck. Battery pull doesn't do it either. Have I bricked my phone? I'm not quite understanding why it's not loading up anything. BTW: During the recovery screen, it said I had the RA image there so I doubt it's not on my card to boot up as I know that if you don't have this then it won't boot up.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my Hero got a mind of its own and is now stuck in car mode. Anytime I hit the home key I get the Navigator screen and anytime I answer a call it automatically has the speaker phone on. From my googling I have seen other phones that have had this problem but nothing on the Hero. I called CS and they said they had no idea how to turn it off and to take it into a store to have them look at it. I took it into the store and how did they fix it...they ordered me a new Hero. So apparently they couldn't fix it either. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and were able to fix it so maybe when someone else runs into it they don't have to go through all the fun I have had too.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIm trying to root my htc hero with android 2.1 and ive done all the steps and im not getting the "superuser permissions" a[[ in my app tray ive updated my build number to 2.27.651.5 which it says to do before i root. ive downloaded sync, and all the files and when i use the command prompt it goes all the way to the "unrevoked" part and the app doesnt go into my tray, im thinking its because its in safe mode and i cant get it out of safe mode, i need to get out of safe mode regardless anyway

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am rooted running Fresh 2.0d and as this is not the official build I realize that there will be some bugs and clearly I'm ok with that since I rooted and flashed a ROM, just a question...I was on hold the other night for about 30 mins so I decided to just set my phone down and put it on speaker, when I finally got someone on the line I tried to turn off the speaker and it wouldn't do it...since then I have made a couple of calls...same result though this time I didn't even enable it...I have since pulled the battery and reset the phone and the problem has gone away, but has anyone else ever had this problem??
View 1 Replies View RelatedGoogle sync has been working fine till my Hero finally updated to all the latest software/firmware last weekend. Since then, it has continually failed to sync Google calendar (mail and contacts are fine) BUT it tries all the time - exhausting the battery every 12 hours in the process! I've seen suggestions to remove the account and re-set it up but it won't let me. Try to delete it and it says "This account is required by some applications. You can only delete it by resetting the phone to factory defaults which deletes all your personal data". It even continues to try and sync when 'Sync calendar' is NOT ticked on the 'data & sync' page! Any suggestions, or do I really need to go back to factory settings?

I was downloading a bluetooth toggle button from the market, battery died. After plugging it in and turning it on, it's now in "Safe Mode". Says safe mode in bottom left corner, none of my app's show up, none of my widgets work.
Rebooted 100 times, held the trackball, held the menu button, held the back button, held the volume button, factory reset. Still in safe mode.
I installed Aloysius 2.0.8 rom last night and now all my phone will do is show red, blue , green and yellow colors the boot animation going back and fourth all night it will not let me do anything it seem like it is suck. Is there anything I can do to puy my old system back on the phone? I tried the hold the power button and volume down key but it just does the same thing over and over and I can't do anything with the phone. Is my phone just a brick now or is there a way to make this thing work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Hero has been stuck on roaming since Tuesday night and now has no EVDO service after a tech had me do a soft reset and update my profile.The Sprint store told me last night that they just received a bulliten about this and for some reason it only affects HTC heros on their network.I was given two different stories by techs over the phone and am really unhappy. It seems a bit odd that nobody has posted about it here.I live in Houston Texas.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to root my phone for 2 days now but I can't even get my Hero to sync to my computer. I've searched around and tried a lot of the tips and tricks that I've seen. I manually downloaded drivers, and that didn't work either.I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, which from what I've heard has been a source of problems for a lot of people. I decided to come to you guys before I went to HTC about this, so if you have any advice please share. I can't even get Pre-Kitchen until I fix this problem.I've tried:
1) Restarting my phone while connected
2) Checking off USB Debugging, plugging it in, then checking it on.
3) Restarting my computer while phone is connected.
4) Downloading 64-bit drivers.
5) Un-installing HTC Sync, Re-installing it.
When I wake my Hero up, it goes into the lock screen which you have to drag down to unlock.
For some reason, 1 song from my music is always there along with the music buttons (back, pause, forwards) yet pressing any of them doesn't do anything. Even if I play a different song. it will stay the same. Any fixes?
Regarding TasKiller, I usually press the red button at the top to kill all, this then brings up a random screen (mine now brings up the HTC Magic OS desktop) and I have to press the Home button to return to normal screen. Does this happen to anyone else?
When i try to go into sprint tv it says downloading and it stays there...any thoughts?

Today I used the pre-kitchen 0.2 to install applications footprints, IM, Quick Office, Sound Recorder and Sprint TV. It finished and rebooted the phone and now ist suck on the white htc quielty brilliant screen.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently tried flashing Demagless 2.0.8 and now my phone is stuck on the HTC Black logo screen while the phone is starting up I have done a clean wipe and reflashed demageless 2.0.7.2 and also fresh 2d but now I get the same problem previously I've had fresh 2d installed and worked perfectly fine. I can still access my root but no matter what rom I flash it won't start up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have (UNFORTUNATELY) an Orange branded/locked HTC Hero running the oh-so-old Android 1.5 ROM....what would happen if I tried updating it with the Sprint 2.1 ROM (if this is possible).If it's not possible / will brick my phone, does anyone have any idea when Orange will release the update (not even had the fabled pre-update update which the rest of Europe seem to have had or about to).As an aside, I will NEVER buy an HTC phone again after this s*** is over with. They may wonder why people want iPhones....Apple promise the iOS4 update...they deliver, on time with no malarkey about supposed different carrier versions. Counting the months till I'm out of contract and can sack off my HTC Hero.

( I did have one but returned it for the current phone that does not have the google stamp on the back due to bad battery)
