Sprint HTC Hero :: Name Of 4x1 Widget That Controls Things Like Wifi GPS?
Mar 7, 2010A few of you have a widget that is 4x1 and controls things like Wifi-GPS- Screen Brightness - and Mobile network. It is one, whole widget, that looks clean and neat. What is the name of said widget? I searched the forums, and when I typed in "4x1 widget" 11 pages of results came up, but when I typed only "4x1", Nothing came up. I tried to search fr it. My phone is NOT rooted.

HTC Hero :: HTC Bookmark Widget
Jan 5, 2010how do i add a bookmark to the bookmark widget with a picture?currently mine has facebook, bbc, cnn, myspace, amazon google and ebay.id like to remove a few and add my own, im using the dolphin browser when i hit add bookmark on the widget it says bookmark saved but doesnt get added to the widget but only to the dolphin bookmarks. i want to be able to have it in the widget so when i click it it just opens up the webpage. is this possible?i read someone said open the browser and hit menu to get up a menu to edit the bookmarks? i hit menu and the only one i can see is add bookmark. and the rest are not relevant.if i hit the plus sign at the top left of dolphin i can get the list of bookmarks. if i hit menu again the only options are snyc, import and label. i dont see how you can edit them again.

Jun 12, 2010They feel just a bit loose and not tight like the power button. On my phone they even squeak when the phone vibrates due to the haptic feedback. There is a little play in them and thats causing the squeaking. I guess BB wont exchange it right? My brothers volume button is nice and firm.

Jul 10, 2010Before I destroyed my EVO, I had an app that would allow me to set several volume controls (separate ones for incoming calls, notifications, media, etc), brightness, even the 4G, wifi, and more. It mostly used multiple sliders that went from left (quiet) to right (louder). I did a search here, but none of the returns rang a bell (pun intended). Can you suggest a few of them that meet this description? Maybe one of them is the one I was using. For those of you who are curious, I accidentally drove over my first EVO. Not pretty. Jan 20, 2010I was wondering if there is a way of disabling the side volume control for the ringer volume because i keep hitting it when holding the phone and its starting to get annoying! But, why would Widgets create lag and Apps don't?

Jun 8, 2010I've seen on some peoples phones they have a widget for different sound profiles. Airplane, vibrate, and silent modes. This morning I dl'd more HTC widgets and I found on that said 'Profile.' The details say, "Quickly switch your phone's profile to normal, silent, or vibrate." Once it dl'd I found the profile for 'Airplane' was added to my Settings widgets, but I've found nothing for normal, silent, or vibrate modes. Am I missing something, not looking in the right place? Should I uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps?

Aug 7, 2010I accidentally trashed my clock/weather widget on the home screen when I was trying to pull down the status bar and cannot find where to put it back from.

Jan 11, 2010I think this may be an odd question for some, but I'm hoping to find some sensible way to get finer volume control on my Hero. When I've got the earbuds in and media volume set to minimum it's really still a bit on the loud side when I'm at home, rather than in the noisy outdoors. Has anyone seen something that can do this? I expect it's easy as pie with a rooted device, but I haven't bothered with that just yet.

Nov 11, 2009One thing I do like about the iphone/ipod touch is that you set the home button to double tap and have that bring up the music controls. really basic, just brings up pause/play, forward, and back...and volume. I really miss that since I'm trying to use my Droid as my main music player now, but I hate that I have to click a widget or go to notifications to change the music. Especially when I'm driving, its would be so much easier if the controls popped up above the lock screen so i don't have to unlock every time. Any thoughts?

Sep 13, 2010At the moment the LEDs that light up the keyboard of the G1 (HTC Dream) are very quick to turn off, I time it at six seconds. This is a pain when using the phone in the dark as you must press a button in order to turn the lights back on if you look away even for a very short time. Since my G1 is rooted I have access to the system files and when using adb to open a shell (adb shell) to the USB connected phone I can set the brightness file to a positive value using echo 1 > /sys/class/leds/keyboard-backlight/brightness. This keeps the keyboard on, until the screen is set to turn off (two minutes on my phone). When I attempt the same using a Terminal Emulator or writing a simple app which should execute the same it does nothing despite both having root access. Why is this?
