I'm not sure if this is possible, my contacts are synched with my facebook profile which is great. Do you know if the DOB of a contact is synched with the calendar - I can't seem to see this and it would be really handy to have.

Ok, so, when I go to my contacts, I have a couple names like (ex.) Bob A. I decided to change it to my linked contact from Facebook so that it's Bob Apple. So I save every name and back out. When I turn off my phone later that night, than turn it on the next morning, the contacts have gone back to their original state (like Bob A.)

Is there a way to get the calendar events to show up on my google calendar? I use calendar pro which I love. I don't know if there is a work around or I am just not knowledgable enough to understand it. A for instance would be that my work email gives me an event or invite...it will show up on the phones calendar but not on my google calendar/events. (my google notification each morning may say "no events scheduled for the day" but phone calendar/calendar pro will show it)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm all about being able to link a contact to their facebook page which shows their pics, etc.However, I have only been able to link a contact to a facebook contact by entering their full name.I have many contacts that I have as nicknames or as Bank Erica, if it's Erica from the bank..Is there a way to link 'Bank Erica' to her actual 'Erica Bxxxx' facebook page? I would assume that you could use email to do this, but have not found a way. Please advise if there is something I am missing or if there is an app that fixes this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm planning on getting the Sprint Hero. I have a hosted Exchange account that I use to manage my emails, calendar, contacts, and tasks. I'm planning on continuing using my Exchange account. I do not want to use Google for Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks syncing.
I have the following questions.
1. How do I turn off Google calendar, contacts, and tasks syncing?
2. Do I need to turn off Google syncing?
3. Is Exchange data stored and managed separately on the phone from Google's calendar, contracts, and tasks but displayed together in the HTC applications?
4. Will the HTC implantation of Exchange ActiveSync allow me to sync tasks?
There is a very good chance I'm being a bit dense here and this is really simple but is it possible to add events from Facebook into the default calender app of the Hero?I use Babbler as my Facebook app if that makes a difference?Also - while I'm here and asking dense questions is the default calender app the same calender I should use to sort out my Google calender that I use online?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have all my contacts synced with their Facebook profile. I've ticked to use their profile pic and birthday in their contact info. When I go to any contacts details it has the little blue Facebook F next to their photo and also next to their birthday, so I know that it's all synced.
The one problem I do have is when I go in to my calendar none of the birthdays are listed.
I've gone in to the Calendar menu and checked that I have Contact Birthday and Events calendar ticked and listed.
My Google calendar is showing fine and syncing between the phone and the web.
Is this just some bug where Facebook birthdays don't show up in the Calendar? I know there are other ways around this but it'd be nice if the contact info was used better. I was kind of excited about being able to view my contacts events with the calendar, I could of easily seen what I could and could not attend.
Also an extra note, the Contact Birthday and Event Calendar does have some birthdays in it. It has mine and it also has a friend whose Facebook profile I have not linked.
Is there a way to sync my Facebook contact pictures (so that their Facebook profile pic shows up as their picture in my phone book) but not sync their contact info?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThanks to some advice you have given me I am now running CM6 and love it.I have had almost no problems getting everything set up and working except for one intermittent problem.Facebook syncing with my contacts.Some contacts sync, others do not. And there names are matching Facebook. I know in Sense you can search and link. Is there something I'm missing?I've dug through settings and can't find anything to link or sync the existing contacts that didn't link up.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi just updated to 2.1 and i imported my gmail contacts but since my facebook account is added to it decided to add facebook contacts..i keep trying to delete my contacts but it says too much even when i delete a couple at a time i keep deleting all of them then i import from my backup contacts on sd and it still brings me my fb ones somehow even though they arent on there Google contact sync doesnt sync anything at all its broken i just want my google contacts synced not my facebook contacts there are soem more random facebook contacts that it wont let me delete in my contacts and they dont show up in all contacts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just rooted my phone and loaded a 2.1 ROM (Damage Control v2.08). Everything seems to be working great. I went into my contacts (reloaded through MS Exchange) and noticed that some of the Facebook photos were auto linked to a contact, but some were not. I am guessing the ones that did not do not have a name that matches exactly did not load.With the stock phone, I was able to manually select the Facebook friend I wanted to associate with my contact and it added the picture.With 2.1, when I try to manually select a Facebook contact through "Link Facebook Profile", the screen doesn't list anyone to choose from.It is just blank and says "no matches found".Has anyone else had this problem? I'm trying to figure out how to manually link people. I can log into Facebook with no problem and everything there seems to work.

However, it also appears to have imported details like phone and email address from facebook which for most people are completely out of date. ( I haven't update my facebook contact number in years =/ )
Now when I write a message, I'm presented with 2-3 copies of each contact with different phone numbers.
I'd like to keep the Birthday and profile pics that facebook imports, but not any of the contact details. Is there anyway of doing this?
I have synched a lot of my contacts with their Facebook accounts, but for a couple of them I have chosen custom pictures to appear in the phonebook. Whenever I connect to the Internet, the custom pics gets replaced by their current Facebook profile pictures. Is there any way to disable this without completely removing the Facebook synch?

Ever since Facebook released its newest version my contact storage has sky rocketed. i only have 137 contacts, i orginally had all my facebook contacts synced, after the update they remained in the contact list but i lost the ability to view the contact picture or link it to a contact. i set the app to sync only phone contacts yet it keeps adding duplicate contacts and contact information. for example i have some contacts that now have 8 to 10 entries or i will have one contact their information like organization or email have multiple entries. ive cleared the data several times and even set it not to sync and it seems to continue to happen. is anyone having these issues or knows of a work around? at this point im relegated to hard reset and start from scratch? my phone isn't rooted but im willing to root if their is a work around that way?

However, for consistency's sake: I have a HTC Hero.Some of my Contacts who are linked to Facebook have duplicate numbers (because one begins with a '1' and the other does not, or they are separated by '.' instead of '-')Also, some of my contacts list fake or old numbers on Facebook and my phone wants to call them or text those by default. (or sometimes on accident - human error).I wish I could have an option to edit these or mark them as "not shown" on my phone so I don't have to double check which number I am calling, texting or emailing to make sure Im using the right number or email address.The only option I've found is to remove the Facebook link, which is a lame workaround and leads me to forget birthdays.

the problem is that i get emailed when someone replies to a post i make. if i reply to that email, sent by facebook, it updates the facebook post (which i like) but it also adds the facebook email message to my contacts. since each facebook email is different my contacts list is growing quickly.
is there a way to stop the facebook replies being added to my contacts, while still keeping other replies being added to my contacts?
I was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?

My old calendar had individual pop ups for each event, the pop up allowed you to open/snooze/ or dismiss each item individually. Also my old calendar had no trouble syncing my gmail and facebook calendars. Android seems to have trouble doing this seemingly simple task. Is there an app or special calendar that can do this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have my hero using built in calendar app.I have a google calendar and a Exchange calendar, I also have My calendar, not sure what that is. I would like to have all the calendars sync using the phone as the main source. So for example if I create a meeting on my phone it also shows on my exchange calendar and my google calendar. At the moment I have to add a calendar entry under the calendar I want the entry to show up on.So If I add an entry to my exchange calendar it doesn't show in google calendar. Can anyone suggest a sync method, without using PC, just phone.
