My hero wont let me send texts out, i can receive them, i just cant send any out, ive tried turning it off and on, but it hasn't cleared the issue, and i have a strong signal too (im on the three network)..

I tried searching for an answer to this, but had no luck. I've just ditched the stock Messaging App for Handcent and am really liking it (as many have here have said). BUT, when I send an MMS or even a simple text, I can't seem to send to email addresses that I had saved (I typically send to some phones and emails at the same time). I could do this with the stock app. Any ideas for me...I feel dizzy from looking through all the Handcent options and can't find anything.

well... I've clicked "set as default" (or was it "use this method from now on" - anyway, words to that effect) and now i can't change it!!
anyone know how to change the default?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy HTC Desire was running well but I've developed a really irritating issue which seems to have started since the Froyo update (O2). Quite often when I send text/sms messages I get the Unable To Send error warning in the top left of the main screen. At first I was hitting the Resend option all the time but it keeps coming back and I noticed that if I check my text messages All Messages box then the message has actually been sent, yet the Unable to Send message persists until I use the Clear option. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

So I emailed myself a few pictures the other day and I received an error message saying 'can't send email, account settings are incorrect' in the notification bar. I send a test email from my phone to another email address and i got it just fine and I send an email to my phone and got it just fine as well.. The frustrating part is that I get that 'cant send email' notification every 30 minuntes and it sounds just like Im getting a text so its even more annoying and I cant stop it.
Anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?
I have an Evo. How can I send a text in a certain day and time? If there's another SMS software that allows that please mention.

I used to have a blackberry and I just added his email address as a contact and display name was also his email address to keep it simple. I would then do new sms and I can make him a recipient and it works just fine. Now I'm trying the same technique with my evo but when I do a new text message he doesn't show up cuz he has no phone nbr only an email address. So I have to manually type his long email address every time I want to send him a msg. I've tried using chompsms and handcent but no luck. so any ideas on how i can make the process easier and not have to type his email every time?

When I pull up contacts, I see options for voice call and IM, but not phone text. I looked everywhere I could find, checked to see that the contact was listed as a mobile number. No big deal if that's the fastest way, just checking. There's so many shortcuts to be learned on this thing it's unbelievable. On Verizon, if you write a text message longer than 160 characters, it won't send any more than that to a non-Verizon subscriber. The Omnia inherently split excessively long text messages into separate messages, instead of what normal phones do, by sending the whole thing and hoping the server splits it for you.
The Droid acts like a dumbphone with both the stock SMS app as well as Handcent. I want it to split messages when they are longer than 160 characters, because I have a lot of friends that aren't Verizon members - or worse yet that it doesn't send the whole thing, Google Voice users. Is there a text messaging app that doesn't have this issue of sending long text messages to non-verizon subscribers?
Today each time I send a text I get a white envelope with an i on it. Does anyone know what this means. My texts are being received okay.
